For threads and forums, whenever there is a new post, it always flashes "NEW!" next the the thread/forum name. However, it's kind of frustrating when you're scanning for new posts that aren't yours, and wherever you've post4ed, it says, "NEW!". My suggestion is; have the board not flash "NEW!" if the last post in a thread/forum is yours.

For some reason, I keep thinking this has been brought up but is too difficult to do. Or it's been brought up and put on the neverending to-do list. But I like the idea, it's just a little difference that would be nice to see.

Honestly, I think it shouldn't be too hard; since the board already knows who posted last in a thread/forum, just check that the laster poster isn't you before adding the "NEW!" image.

Yeah. That looks like it would be it. Now just to stick it in there for a test... heh.

Almost.

if($thread["lastposterid"]==$loguser["id"]) { $new = ''; }

You need quotes outside of a string.

Actually, I'm 95% sure it will work without the quotes.

It will work, but you might have problems someday.

(you have to put either single quote, or quotes (how the fuck are they called, double quote?))

Because when you're not putting them, Php will first think it's a constant, but if it doesn't exist, then it will do what you probably wanted to do. And stuff.

Either way I think this is actually a good idea, and a very easy one at that.

"Double quotes" is correct, Darkslaya.
