| If by replying to them you mean posting in a thread they made, then yes that is against the rules.
Unless the thread is actually promising or serves some purpose and staff deems it okay. Then, it is okay. Example here User was banned after making thread (obviously) but discussion continued. User was not banned for the making the thread itself. This is an example of a thread that you shouldn't reply to. User made stupid thread. It serves no purpose and just by reading it, you know the user will be banned. Now, if you mean to replying to a post a user made in a normal thread, then it comes down to a bit of common sense. Let's say if User10101 made the post "Wiki suxs as a name, revolution. wiki sounds gay" And you want to quote him and actually argue with him, then it is stupid. He is stupid. Normally, it is best to ignore stupid people. Especially if they are banned. If you want to point something out, then it is my belief that it is okay but if you are hoping to have a discussion or simply reply to the banned user saying "Wiki doesn't suck. Why do you sya that?" Then that is a stupid post on your part. Because he is banned. It is the same using common sense when talking to a dead person. You simply don't talk to dead people because they can't talk back unless you want to bring up some sort of spiritual reason they can or if you are Kyouji who has some weird ass powers. Basically, don't add fuel to the fire. They are banned for a reason, don't try to reply to them or acknowledge their existence because truth be told, banned users tend to come back and check threads they made or posted it last, and if you say something to them that provockes them, they are more likely to rereg simply to prove you wrong. Then they get banned again. It has happened. |

| No, you should report it to an admin if banned people are harrassing you through PMs. You probably know that they can see them to see if you're telling the truth, and if they are bothering you, they'll probably IP ban them.
So in short, don't reply to it. Send it to an admin. |

| Your assuming he is being harassed.
No, its not against the rules to reply to him. If he is harassing you, then yeah, report it, get him IP banned or something, but if he just asked a simple question or said hi, then reply to him. |

| There's really nothing wrong unless he's pestering you or asking you to get him unbanned. Then it should be reported, because we don't need unwelcome members bothering welcome members. |
