Original Version**************Romanji Version (NOT American English)

This is the BETA Version of this Translation Patch. I will cover up the rest of the Japanese symbols later. Please read the .txt for details and my Do's and Dont's .

Download here. Table File is also included in this file for those of you wan't to convert this
game into US.

And yes ROMhacking.net already have this. But this is my own translation patch.

Um...you know, a person who can actually make use of your "romanization patch" is probably going to be able to read the original Japanese text anyway.

Lol, did you just draw multiple Roman letters over the Japanese font?

That's what I did. And especially the ones with the 3 letters. If don't like this then get it from ROMhacking.net instead. I'm going to host in this site after I create my own account.

Why settle for number 1? If lower means better, why not vote him in as...number 0? Or number -1? That'd sure show the world how good he is! XD

Sure, I'd vote him for #-1.

I've been attempting to curb myself from flaming on public forums, but this has got to be one of the stupidest fucking things I've ever seen; this is low, even for you.

This is not a translation, this is a switch to a different character set.
Changing katakana/hiragana into romanji doesn't change the language.

I'm going to go sit in a quiet corner and try and prevent my brain from exploding due to reading another one of your posts: I will be absolutely certain to never read ANYTHING you post, ever again.

First of all, I'm not the best ROM hacker here. You guys proberly look at Carol's Post on my webpage. I may be a new translator of the KDT2 project because the other translator and or his site is dead. Converting Japanese symbols to Romanji is the first step of translating. But the other step is converting Romanji to American English and only an expert translator like Liana Kerr could translate every single word.

The other patch I recieved, attack, item, and monster names are already translated. I better start working with them too.

No it's not. It's a pointless middleman that can actually impair translation instead of aid it. (And furthermore, the word is "romaji".)

If you're some kind of freakin' madman whose idea of translation is to play through the game and take screenshots of every single dialog box, then I have one word for you: Romjuice. Once you have a proper table (that uses real Japanese symbols and not often-confusing romaji), you can use WindHex to find the script in the ROM and use Romjuice to extract it. If your "translator" says they can translate from Japanese but that it has to be romanized first, then get another translator. I'm by no means perfect, but I can read and I can translate from Japanese, and I don't need some idiot "romanization patch" to do so.

@Ryushi, Thanks for your comment. Maybe it was mistake to convert Japanese Symbols. If you're better at it, I'll the entire thing over again and I'll proberly use the other patch to help me out.

I think this thread is enough anyway. Please Close.

If this was in Korean, even the "romanization" would fail, since you have various ways to convert them into our letters.
And the game seems to lack kanji in dialogues. Before Gideon Zhi made the translation from Rudra no Hihou from English into German (or let do it and he did the entire coding stuff, such as rewriting the entire spell creation menu, dunno know ), there was a french version of it and only the katakana in the spell creation menu were changed from katakana to romaji. This is okay, since you easily can do some stuff like "Tsunami" in romaji.
But you learn can hiragana in three or four days - they are really easy to memorize. And most of the katakana look very close to the hiragana and will be learned fast as well.

Besides that ... Japanese just looks very fine; even if you usually forget them regularly, kanji and also kana have a beautiful appearance - and they help you to understand the language. Like if you throw in the word "hashi" without any text, nobody might know if you mean either chopstick or bridge with it, since they have the same writing in hiragana (but differently stressed syllables and of course another kanji).

I hope you're ready for some serious hacking...that cellphone in the name entry screen gives me both ideas and sheer terror.

See, as you've probably already worked out, each button corresponds to a different kana group: a, k-, s-, t-, n-, h-, m-, y-, r-, dakuten, the wa/wo/n group and symbols. But American phones don't work that way. One of the most interesting things this translation is probably gonna have to do is rewrite the cellphone so that it works like an American one; ABC2, DEF3, GHI4, JKL5, MNO6, PQRS7, TUV8, WXYZ9, etc...and instead of a dakuten key, you'd have Caps Shift.

Side note: It's Ryusui.

Though there's some interesting posts here (and a bit too much flaming), I'll close this thread as per the wishes of the thread starter..
