| Now now, the reactions just make me sad.
I, in now way agree with rape, but you guys are just over reacting. If you just want this hack to die, don't give this thread attention, and it'll disapear. And by the way, I suggest you all go watch news or something and then jump at the real rapers' throat. And seriously, I don't want to go see who said the whole GTA thing, but it's true. It's basicly saying "go fucking kill people, it's fun". blah blah my post won't make anymore sense head explodes stuff wtf Just my two cents. |

| Has anyone seen the movie Clockwork Orange? It's a Stanley Kubrick film where the main characters in the movie are shown having a great time going around vandalizing and raping.
Why was it such a popular movie? In the business world there is ShoCK VaLuE... and it sells. I think the one thing Jomb is laughing about is everyone's reaction. It's to make HIM laugh right? and I probably won't play this hack because it doesn't look very funny especially the title, maybe you'll have a funny one sometime if you keep working on these because a completely inappropriate 8-bit NES game could work if done right. |

| Actually Kubrick is one of my favorite directors.
And yes, the one thing maybe more funny to me than the Lone Rapist hack, has been people's comments on this thread, particularly on the 1st page. I'm saving them and storing them with my copy of the hack. Like i said i have another one coming up soon which i was working on simultaneously. It has no raping involved, but i still think it will be controversial. Ironically to me my last hack did'nt get nearly this kind of reaction, it is far far worse than this one. This one does'nt even have any nudity in it for christs sake!  |

None of the people commenting on it to this point have actually played it. It would'nt even be possible to play it through in such a short period of time. It takes me about 6 hours to play through it and i know what i'm doing, the 1st time would take much longer. It's an RPG basically, and the entire story has been changed right up to and including the ending. People were going off of the title and my very brief description of it. Very amusing! |

Clockwork Orange wasnt trying to be funny though. that film is meant to be shocking which is far from funny. On the other hand Jomb you seem to make out the hack is funny so what i want to know is did u find the rape in Clockwork Orange funny? I consider myself to have a warped sense of humour. Just not when rape is concerned. Then again if i could be arsed to play it i would. How much have u actually changed in this hack other than the text? |

| Actually i have'nt yet seen Clockwork Orange, but i doubt i would find it funny. The rape would have to be in an 8 bit (or maybe 4 or 16 bit setting) to get me laughing. I love Eyes Wide Shut, that is one of my favorite movies. The Shining, Dr. Strangelove, and Space Oddysey 2002 and all very good as well.
Text is 99.5% or so changed. Some music has been changed (to reflect the Lone Ranger's derranged state of mind). All cutscene graphics, and main character graphics have been changed, and a few other minor things. Some of the enemy graphics have been left unchanged as they still fit in with the new story line just fine. |

| Actually, there is no graphic rape scenes in The Lone Rapist, just allusions to it. There is tons of violence, but that was already in The Lone Ranger, i've just changed the motivation for it. The Lone Ranger has to be a mass murderer if his game is any indication! | |||

| Jomb, I can appreciate the symbolic value of this game. Congratultions, you've done exactly what you set out to do by making this hack. To all of the rest of you who play any video game in general but scorn this one: You're thinking with the wrong head. So far only Setz, me, Ibix, DarkSlaya, and ImInvisible seem to have gotten the joke (I may be missing someone people: Sorry if I am). Yeah, the hack may be shit, it may be devastatingly offensive and Jomb may be a "terrible person". But you're all going ZOMFG about this hack, when you would so easily defend something like GTA: SA (remember that? The thread started in the ROM hacking forums) when it comes under fire for crimes that are on the same level as rape.
A crime is a crime, through and through. At the end of the day, rape and murder are both still illegal. You cannot condone one crime for entertainment and shock value and then demean another crime just because it happens to go against your personal beliefs. That implies some sense of advocacy or support for the former! Are you all theft or murder enthusaists? I didn't think so, not in real life. We in "THA BIZ" call that hypocrisy. Now, I'm sick of watching this crap. Jomb made a hack, and he added a disclaimer to it. It is NSFW, it is offensive, it is absolutely disgusting in its own right, and yet it is no more illegal than any other ROM hack out there, and he has let you all know what kind of content is in the game. You are all jumping on him about it, despite his assertion that in a game like this you must, as Setz pointed out from Jomb's original writings, be your own goddamn censor. I am indeed willing to bet that half of you have NOT played this game. Not only that, but your closed-minded flames of Jomb are in direct violation of the board's rules (he is not: he DOES have a content disclaimer, and this is NOT warez or porn). I'll not have this idiocy floating around anymore. Oh, and as a side note, in the original The Lone Ranger's time setting, rape was very common. Humanity for the win!  |
