Is there a way to make it so Mario is always "on Yoshi"? I mean. . . you are always on the Yoshi you can get from a box, even when you start out...is that possible? And then I bet you can make it that instead of Yoshi running away, being hit just kills you if you're small or takes away your power if you are not...it would be a super big help, though, if anyone knew if it was even possible to make you always on Yoshi. I'm not asking for anyone to code it for me, just how one would go at doing this. I'm not affraid to get my hands dirty

Edit: I'm guessing...the property to make Yoshi run away is in his sprite code, isn't it? Would anyone know where I would find this code of his? I'm mostly worrying about making Mario just be on Yoshi default before I worry about changing his behavior...I plan to make some other changes to how Yoshi works later, anyway, so I might as well ask for it now. Thanks in advance guys :3

Write EA A9 0A at x213C9 and EA EA EA at x22DD to give Mario green Yoshi at the beginning of every level. That much is easy. Yoshi won't show up on the overworld at all because I had problems getting Yoshi to show up consistently and I figured never is better than spending so much time getting him to show up always.

If you put 80 2D at xEF9C, Mario can no longer dismount from Yoshi using the spin jump. I'm having some serious trouble making Mario get hurt instead of being removed from Yoshi, actually. The main code starts around x, right after the check to make sure Mario isn't star Mario at that point. They didn't want Mario to get hurt when he had star invincibility.

Your biggest problem will be castles. If I disable the Yoshi dismounting code, the opening with the gate glitches. If the No Yoshi entrance is disabled, Yoshi will cause glitches when vertical fireballs appear and sometimes Mario will die instantly at the beginning of bosses. All that is, of course, after you manage to remap or otherwise fix Yoshi's tongue with the incompatible castle tileset.

You could get rid of castles entirely, but only when a boss is beaten can the cutscenes or credits be triggered.

Hey, thanks a bunch ;3 this is such a big help to me! The problem with the castles, I had a feeling might have happened (is it just the spriteset that is used? I never understood what broke besides the tongue..) but, I can probably have a work around for something like that...what is it that makes Yosh incompatible with the bosses, exactly? I'm wondering, because even if it takes a lot of work, it might be something neat for me to work on fixing some time. Anyway, thank you again! I appreciate it
