Its people like you who will make jump day not work. Seriously, if it doesnt work, then what will happen? Nothing, so either way, it doesnt matter. Things will either get better or stay the same. Might as well jump out of curiousity.

I signed up for this thing like 2 years ago. Forgot about it until now. Why doesnt it say how many people they have registered?

One thing seems obvious to me. If everyone in the world jumped at the same time, it would be like two people pushing one thing two directions. It just wouldnt move. If everyone in one hemisphere jumped, that would be like one person pushing it one way, but they want everyone to jump at once. All I really see this doing is making the earth explode.

No, no, setz, you do it like THIS:

THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY STUPID!

I mean, seriously, they don't even tell you what scientific research they refer to - hey, scientific research says my shit's made out of gold, but I don't have any links or references to those specific studies so you'll just have to take my word for it!

Yeah. It's things like these that ruin jumping.

I would jump if it weren't for the fear I have of breaking my ankles as I land.

Two things to consider:

--Your mass, relative to that of the earth, is tiny. For reference, the average human is 65 kg. There are about 6,622,349,224 people on the planet. That makes for 430,452,699,560 kg of people. The mass of the earth, on the other hand, is 5.9742 × 10^24 kg.

Let's put those numbers next to eachother:
Earth: 5,974,200,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg
Us: 430,452,699,560 kg

-- No matter how much you weigh, conservation of momentum and Newton's Second Law are going to own you. You're in a closed system and can't change anything. The only way to change the earth's course for more than the duration of the jump would be to jump out of the earth's gravitational pull.

And to do that, we would need to jump around 1000 kilometers high at 11.2 km/s, which is the Earth's escape velocity.

Yeah. Not gonna happen.

I think the more important thing is that if it DID work, there's now way it would end well. A shift of orbit could very easily DOOM US ALL.

Otherwise, Squash said everything needed.

Why do you feel the need to state things which don't apply and could not apply?
