Well...I've finally made up my mind. The Thousand-Year Pipe is officially done. That was my first hack, and when I really look at the level design, OW design and stuff, it never really got good up til about the third world (and I had 17 levels in the second world - and about 30 events already used ) I guess this is goodbye my good hack. May you rest in peace.

Sweet free ExGFX!!!!

Those of you who were fans of it, here are some parting screenshots. No new ones, but some that are memory.

And the two OWs..*slaute*

BOGGLY WOODS

Well. That ends the depressing part of the post. Now..onto the good part!

Since I now have a very good knowledge of SMW hacking, it's time I started a new hack titled "The Millenium World" (not creative at all). All I have right now are three screenies - one of the OW, and two of the first level. (remember, this thread is dedicated to TTYP - this is just a bonus)

Comment: This is the first OW - loaded with custom palettes. Like something, tell me. Don't like something, tell me.

Comment: Quinta-Isles 1. It isn't very exciting, and it's fairly easy. It IS the first level after all

Well, thats all for now. Sorry to see TTYP go...but looking for comments on the new screens

TTYP actually sounded pretty interesting even though all I found out about it was a comment in your screen name. Oh well, good luck on the next one. Those screenshots look pretty decent.

*sigh* It was inetesrting - I just screwed it up. Kinda with too many events here and there, WAAAY too many random files scattered around - massively unorganized. It could have been much better. Ah well.

Thanks for the comments

Organization is always a problem with projects like this, and as for events..
Well, if you ever get the urge to try and work on it again, you could always make it a two-parter.

Red font on brown BG = Non-Good. I refer, of course, to the overworld pic. I'm also not sure how well the Sonic graphics fit, but it could work better than I expect. Your overworld doesn't look bad, although the paths are a bit too straight (noticed how every world in SMW had some curved paths? Yeah.).

Level-wise, you only showed one screenshot. It doesn't look too bad, and although it appears easy at least you didn't neglect the enemies.

The new hack looks okay, so far... I like the overworld; reminds me of World 7 on SMB3 for some reason. The second shot looks okay, but I'm not one who really thinks that Sonic graphics look good.

@Andres: Thanks

@Andrew: Not sure why it doesn't work - works for me can't really help you there.

@Kailieann: Good point on the two parter - but like I said, it wasn't only events that were screwed up. Level design in the first world was pretty bad - second was good. So if I just start a new one, I can make it good

@Neo: Yup. Sonic graphics rock. I tried to get Sonic 3 GFX, but couldn't seem to rip them... this one won't be RIPed

@Shane -26-: I didn't kill the other one. I just brutally stabbed it. It's clinging to life..hardly

@Tamarin: It's hard to get the font right. I tried many combos - which colour would you recommend for a brown BG? (I'm not much of an "interior designer ") As for the straight paths, I can't really make curved paths on an island. Next world I'll try to make some though. And you're wrong! The Special World doesn't have curved paths. OWNED!

@Chris: I can see how it reminds you of world 7 - to be honest, that world was in my mind when I made it. Might have something to do with it.

Thanks for the comments guys

and by the way your upper lands meat with lower ones... the ladders look like diagonal bridges

That's too bad. TTYP would have been a nice hack

I agree with ZTaimat on the overworld design. The Quinta-Isles OW palette needs to go. Seriously. Green grass + green ground = eyes asplode.
