Wow, when they say "wisecracking pirate robot" the first thing to come into my head is Bender with a pirate hat on. 
I'm not sure what to critique yet with your robot; I'd be interested in seeing what you have in mind with regards to its head and facial features. Is it gonna have a big piratey robotty moustache? |

well, it had a circle head with visor-type eyes and a patch, but it looked so horrid that I just cut it out altogether. this pallete is driving me insane with its lack of contrast between some of the shades. I might go with a more angular head and a tilted cap + cigar. Do pirates even smoke cigars?  |

Hmm... give him a built-in parrot on his shoulder to add to the wisecrack part. I dunno... the palette probably wouldn't make it look right... but it would be funny if done... I don't know pirates much, basically what I know from Pirates of the Caribbean. But my friend seems obssessed with pirates. I'll ask him later about suggestions to this. |

| Looks good. Could you try to shade out the bandana too, as you did with pretty much the rest of him. (Arms for instance)
Speaking of adding things, add a sword for gods sake.
