Have you ever had an idea you wanted to share with anyone, but didn't feel it was particulary thread-worthy or anything?

I've had that lots of times, so i decided to give this a try. If you have some sort of nutsy idea, just post it. Spark a conversation, talk about your little ideas. Who knows? Maybe this is a good idea, maybe not, but I figured it's woth a try nonetheless.

I already wanted to start a thread about my theory of the aspie being the evolution of mankind, I then decided to not make it due to a lack of proof and possible flame

I find mildly amusing how the last reply list for the Help/Suggestions forum looks, at least for the first 8 topics (counting sticky). (random user), Danielle, (random user), Danielle, etc.

I'm easily amused.

I wanted to make a ROM hack of Earthbound a while back with a more SF feel to it. I think this summer I'm going to actually do it.

I was watching an infomercial a while back, and it occurred to me that we oughta bring back tar and feathering.

That also made think about tar and feathering, I was wondering what the feathers are for. But then I figured it was probably just to add insult to injury. Not only are your pores clogged and you're covered with burns, but you also look like a duck.

Yeah, that wasn't thread-worthy.

Ouch. That would hurt. And yes, the feathers were just for embarassing the poor sucker who got tarred.

Well we still need to bring it back. Back in the 1800's people used to go town to town selling bottles of useless "medicine" that could cure anything from arthritis to TB, but then they had to get out of town before people caught on and had them tar and feathered. We don't do that anymore, so now people can sell the same stuff on TV.

Well... We'd have to be able to track those people down. Otherwise, it's hard to manage to actually, you know, punish them.

Track them down? They're on TV, how hard could it be to find them? I'd start by going to the address they say to mail the checks to.

A plausible idea, but is tarring and feathering still legal? I've never heard of any laws against it

I think it's outlawed by a blanket statement, something against capital punishment, or else something along those lines.

Or, maybe it IS allowed. Who knows? (not me.)

Pouring burning hot tar on someone probably falls under assault. I agree that it should be legalized though.

Well there is a bit in the constitution about "cruel and unusual punishment". And I get the feeling that tar and feathering is exactly what the guy who came up with that phrase had in mind. The tar is cruel, the feathers are unusual. Stupid constitution. Oh well, I guess its vigilante justice then. Now I just have to find a tar wholesaler that doesn't ask alot of questions.

I have another non-threadworthy thought: Has anyone else seen that commercial for the Red Cross where the make the barber cut that guy's neck? If so, isn't it the most horrifying commercial you've ever seen?

Also, where's my penny?

*throws it down the Marina Trench*

There it is. I wanted to make a thread about how my best friend's mom might have lung cancer and I'm scared for her, but bitching is removed from the forum and I wasn't sure if it went under General Chat.

Actually, I think that would fit in Officer's Club. Under the whole "Life getting you down?" description that may or may not have been attached to it some time in the past.
