First off. I had to redo Death on my hack. My SNES hack from Castlevania: Dracula X. Now if only I had some assistance on how to hack this games text. Even the games items have been altered.

For those interested in downloading this patch. Here ya go.
http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/deathsdefiance.zip

And if anyone's been keeping up. I posted awhile back about Sonic & Mario. Hacking Genesis roms are extremley difficult. And its going to take more time than SNES & NES roms. But don't worry. Progress is going well and it will be done soon. Many of you complained that the 8-bit Mario was too dull and that he needed some touches redone. I listened and decided to replace him with the 16-bit look instead. Which is much more appealing. I have no plans on changing him to Cape Mario which most wanted me to do. Sorry but its my hack and I feel thats the best decision. Also the villian of the sonic games..Dr. Robotnik/Eggman is going to be replaced by Dr. Wily. And if you don't know who he is. Look up Megaman.

Will you change anything other than Tails'>Mario's graphics? Or will Mario have different moves or something?

*Cough*. You seem to be a newcomer at hacking games. Let me give you some insight. I'll give you an example on hacking Dr. Robotniks sprite. First off. Using programs like tilemolester and yy-chr_e, its simple to hack nes titles. However finding the spirte character robotnik offsets is difficult. The graphics are all screwy looking. They are compressed. Which will not show up in TLP. You must de-compress it, then edit the sprite in TLP which is a hassel. Making sure not to go over the sprite size limit. Re-compress it. And finally use the program called hexworkshop to find the pointer and location of the sprite and paste over the data of the rom while not only being careful and to not damage the rom. Plus hacking Sonic3&Knuckles is one of the most challenging games to hack. Unlike the Mario games out there. But what do I know eh? You think its sooo easy. Why don't you try to hack my game and see how simple it is for you.

Bout 40%. Dr. Wily's is just completed. Now its just Mario and some icons. I still have quite alot more sprites to edit for Mario though.

I'll give you that, S3&K is probably one of the most difficult Sonic games to hack. But from what you were saying, you're only editing the graphics of a few things, all of which are the same exact process as things being hacked in any other game, utilities being the exception to the rule. Hell, decompress the graphics, and from that point on it's the same exact thing as hacking NES graphics (mind you, this is from what I understand. Hacking NES has never been my forte). Decompressing, editing, compressing, and inserting isn't a hassle, it's just a time consumer. Any claims that it requires an extreme amount of work are unjustified.

And I don't remember if I made a comment on it in your last images topic, but the Mario sprites clash horribly with the Sonic 3 graphics. Either fix the graphics so they have shading and such, or... actually, can't think of anything else. Just do that.

And remember: critiscism is the first step to perfection. Don't react to other people's remarks angrily, as they might have some merit to it. Unless they are complete idiots.
