Besides the following person:
Peter_ac

Does anyone else know how I can get the SMB3 mario graphics to work without looking like trash when i play it? I insert the graphics and mario is pink with his head below him and his feet above him. I played the pieces where they needed to be. i made sure everything was okay. What the hell did I freaking do wrong?

Sounds like you need to both fix the palette and change the mappings. I think there's a tool on SMWCentral for the second thing, but the first one you're on your own for.

Of course, you can also just copy each individual tile over the one it's replacing, meaning that all you'd have to do is change the palette.

he've edited the tilemap, just edit it too

BTW: in case you're using my new power-up engine, the Frame used by small Mario for fireball shooting is labelled as 'Smash hammer again??' in the tilemap editor

this isn't in DOS, I think this is in 'Blitz basic' or something like that, the only DOS-ish thing is that you need to enter the ROM name, is that too hard to do?

just put the editor in the same folder than your ROM and then directly enter the ROM name

example: mysmwhack.smc

Why do people always assume that programs without GUIs are DOS programs? Blitz Basic (the programming language I'm using) doesn't come with a built in GUI, and I'm not wasting time making one just because people can't figure out how to enter file paths correctly (for instance, it's "C:/directory" or "C:\directory", not "C:directory"). Maybe I should make my next program command line based just to piss people off?

Edit: And by the way. What's wrong with DOS programs?

I wonder that too, I mean, I saw some DOS program without any command line at all and when I was young our CPU was almost only working in DOS mode. I bet the problem is people lazyness to learn how the program work

Enter new address:

1) Because people like me (Just a junior to the P.C tech) have not been forced to or have encountered programs without "GUI" But have seen what DOS looks likes and thnik they are the same.

2) Being in past events. (fixing something on someone else's P.C) that person told me to run DOS. Though I was pretty young back then that program taunted me and made me feel dumb. Since I have always hated DOS. Now since i am doing things like this. I guess learning alittle thing or two with DOS isn't a half bad idea.

That's a big problem today. Computers are too easy to use (when they work correctly, that is). Nobody has to learn about DOS, command lines and such stuff.

I still help people; don't be stupid.

If you're copying the GFX from another hack (cough, cough), you'll also need to copy the tilemap code, which is stored between x620c and x638b.

Well then, just copy all of the colours (80 to 8F) over to a level in your rom (one without a custom palette) and save RGBs to ROM. You'll have to copy the colours 1 by 1. To copy, left-click on the colour and press Return, and to paste, right-click.
