They're just tryin' to kiss your ass 'cause you own the board now.  Really, it doesn't look like good level design, it looks like something you threw together in less time it took to make that screenshot.

And what's will all the replies from the people here who all think they are sooo much smarter than Magic Vampire Joe and the thing that they can do at best is flaming each other about everything, because they all think they are the best and everything done by something else sucks?
Really, sometimes I begin to think, which one is smarter: The newcomer, who knows nothing yet about SMW-hacking because he just started and just wanted to ask for help or the experienced hacker who can nothing better than flaming. Come on, what's with the community? Is here a community? I can't see one, and that wasn't the case a few years ago, so I wonder what the hell went wrong in the last few years. Some of you are asking why so many productive people left the board? Oh I know the answer, and I don't think it's the newbies fault. So, in that case, live the fun flaming experience... or maybe something better, but that's up to you... |

| FPI, I totally understand your plight, but the thing is... Curious newbies ARE helped. I can't think of how many times honest questions have been answered. When people do what the announcements, sticky threads, and board rules themselves clearly state, things go well for them. The fucking morons like magic_vampire_joe who ignore all the rules, post nothing but crap, and ask retarded questions easily answered by checking help files, clearly linked places, or google who are flamed out of here or banned.
It seems like few of you are capable of common sense anymore. It is neither the responsibility of staff, the responsibility of experienced hackers of the board, or the responsibility of experienced hackers on staff to explain to the idiots here why what they are doing is stupid. It is intrinsically obvious. You can't make a stupid person smart. Believe you me, that doesn't work. People learn through experience, and if they don't learn quickly, they repeat their mistakes and get banned, or at least very much shunned by the community. They can come back when they mature or learn how to avoid acting ignorant, and in fact many people have. However, if people want everything handed to them in a silver platter and don't want to learn how to do anything by themselves, then I see no obligation to do anything for them. Oh, and peter, you are one pretentious, pretentious person. |

So, all this debate is done just because SMW Hacking has been placed in the Crap section? You can still visit those forums nonetheless... 
Just be thankful it wasn't deleted like the others. I would'nt push the patience of the admins because in spite of the endless questions tossed into the forum, I still gain insight from it all. Although Joe is correct on some points, his entire idea remains flawed. I say we stop worrying about newbs altogether. Life's too short for such menial matters as it is. If the forums stay, shut up and count your blessings / gripe in private. If not, oh well, find something else to do. |

If you want to flame newbies for 'stupid' questions and threads, go ahead, that's your business. But the fact is, lately, this place is mind-blowingly unfriendly especially here in the SMW forum - there's just bitchin' and bitchin' and bitchin'. I actually asked for a name change a few weeks ago, it was ignored and I was insulted. I mean, WHAT THE FUCK!!!? Do what you will. But at least change the slogan, Jesus Christ, it doesn't describe the board at all

I'm pretty much in agree that this forum has become a huge piece of crap sitting in the middle of the board. Its one of the many reason why I'm not active here anymore. Of course your gonna get some stupid questions in here every once and a while, but its gotten out of hand. And it doesn't matter how many sticky threads or annoncments your post, you'll always have stupid people. I suggest something a little more drastic. Make newbies have to answer some kind of questions before they can enter the forum, read a FAQ, or even have something as drastic as an allow list for only certain members. I can tell you right now though that this thread or even moving the forum to the crap section is not gonna change anything. Either ignore the stupid people and just move on with life or take some real action and do something about the stupid people. |

| I tried to steer away from posting in this thread (or SMW Hacking in general) but I have to say this...
Ever since I joined this board this type of crap has been the same problem over and over again. Newbies that need help and post questions is criticized and flamed away constantly, rather than people just helping them or giving them CONSTUCTIVE CRITICSIM!!!!, no matter how many times the question has been asked and answered. If you don't like a certian thread, DON'T POST THERE!!!! Instead, people come in and make smark remarks and flame all day. If you don't believe me, check the first page of SMW Hacking and click in some of these threads. Notice the pattern? The same immature 5th grade shit has been going on ever since I got here. Thats one of the 100 reasons why I stoped posting here and took my SMW hacking to another forum. Of course you got your occasional asshole who just regestered to spam, but I belive most of these spammers is really people thats already reg here for a double account (maybe on another CPU at school, so there IP address can be different) and spam and asked the same questions and post horrible screenshots purposly so this kind of crap can happen. This forum is supposed to be for helping people new learn how to hack SMW. Of course thier going to ask questions thats been asked before or post pics of thier hack, no matter how much you THINK it sucks. Peter makes a SMB Remake, leaves it open for the whole internet to download and use for thier hack, now all of a sudden he tries to pull it of the internet because he thinks newbies abuse his(Nintendo's) GFX's? WTF??? What the hell did you think was going to happen when you make a GFX's Hack thats different and fresher than SMW original GFX? Hell, I was using your GFX's hacks for a while to make SML 2 6 golden coins remake and other hacks in progress. Bottom line is, this shit is going to continue untill the mods stat cracking down on the asses of this board(GET RID OF THEM!!!, no matter how "popular" they are), and point newbies in the right direction with PM FAQ's or something.... Thats the only way things are gong to change. But I don't deal with this forum anymore for SMW hacking, so it can be burned down to the ground for all I care. |
