| I am hereby withdrawing all permission for people to use any of my hacks (SMBDX, TLLDX, and the GFX Hack) as a base for their own hacks. And for those who don't know, I am peter_ac.
I'm locking SMBDX and TLLDX (and reuploading them to SMW Central), and I am deleting the GFX Hack permanently. I request that nobody use my hacks to make their own hacks anymore, because: 1. People are doing such a terrible job with it. 2. They don't give me credit, eventhough I ask for it. 3. They make SMAS GFX seem overused. From now on, if you want pretty GFX in your hack, rip them yourself. I kindly ask all people who are hosting any of my hacks on their server to delete them too, and I'd also appreciate if people wouldn't privately distribute them. Thanks. 1. They're Nintendo's GFX, like Stifu said, you just ripped them, you didn't make them yourself (though ripping does take time) 2. I any one wants you background or land or whatever, take a screenshot through an emulator as a BMP, and USE A TILE EDITOR AND TAKE IT ANYWAYS!!! So, what's the damn point?! My hack, Super Mario's Journey uses custom-made GFX (and some DKC BGs), so anyone can steal them (they're locked too) but they suck. |

| SMAS graphics are overused, and they were long before your time. It is not like there was anything special or protectionworthy behind the ripping of them; others did that before you, and uploaded their graphics rips to the ExGFX workshop or used them silently. You were just the first one to have the idea of publically releasing them with drumrolls and using that to advance to a quasi-messiah of highly generic SMW hacks, whether you intended to or not. | |||

| The point is, so that the average idiot can't come along with no knowledge and experience, and use SMAS GFX; all the while the person who went through the trouble of ripping the BGs himself looks no better than the user of the GFX hack.
Basically, it just means idiots can't have nice GFX. Of course, anybody who's not an idiot here (and there aren't many of those) can rip the GFX himself. I agree that your hacks are being overused by newbs so, we'll let them struggle for awhile, if not forever. They should learn that stuff on their own, otherwise they won't grasp hacking as well. I never needed to unlock hacks when I was new at it. I just played with them. |

Stifu: Ripping isn't the easiest thing in the world, you know. Giving a little credit for someone managing to rip something ACCURATELY is at least deserved...  |
