Hello,

How can i add a horizontal bounce block, like in SMB3?
It acts like a all side bouncing note-block in horizontal direction and like a normal block in vertical direction.

In Blocktool i did'n found this, but in several hacks i do!

Download Blocktool again. It has probably been updated by now.

Well, I think it is already in Blocktool.

What you need to know is that most block in blocktool aren't obviously what they do.

The name 'Ceiling Block' means hit from underneath to change it to the next tile in the map16. Took me ages to find it out.

Go into the menus at the top and see the view block data thing. Go SLOWLY through every single block and read the descriptions CAREFULLY!

If you can't find it then, I don't know what to suggest.

Just bear in mind that not all block are named accordingly to what they do.

Keep trying!

Magiclnkudrgwhatever, if you're going to offer advice, at least have a clue what you're talking about.

joh, no need for BlockTool at all. Use block 12A. But it won't let you bounce vertically.

Yes,

it's 12A and 12B.

The only thing is that the sprite of a pow block is used when touched.
I can overwrite the sprite with my own block, but then it wouldn't be possible to use a pow in the same level.

Using a hex editor, look for x113F4. You'll see that it's at 42. That's the same tile as the P switch. Change it to something like 88 to overwrite the flapping fish, or C2 to overwrite the cloud game coin.

You'll probably also want to change the palette the sprite uses. Look for x1098C. It's at 00.

00 means it uses palette 8.
02 means it uses palette 9.
04 means it uses palette A.
06 means it uses palette B.
08 means it uses palette C.
0A means it uses palette D.
0C means it uses palette E.
0E means it uses palette F.

Thanks to Matrizzle for this data.

EDIT: By the way, 12A turns into 12B after being hit. The difference is, 12B is empty.
