Since boss editing tools seem sparse, I'm using a different approach in my hack: trying to edit common enemies greatly to become bosses. My problem is I need a way to make the level cleared once the boss is defeated. I have a few ideas in mind, but am still too new at this to go about developing them by myself.

First idea: if someone knew what part of the Big Boo Boss's sprite code made the level clear when he died, then maybe it could be applied to other sprites.

Second idea: For enemies that spawn other sprites when stomped they could simply spawn the goal point sphere, but how do I make other sprites(chuck for example) spawn something when they die?

Third idea: Instead of making the boss's death directly trigger clearing the level, maybe a custom block could be made that is only passable when one enemy has been killed. (There's a simliar block included in block tool, but it requires you don't land after stomping the enemy.)

If someone could provide a solution similiar to these, or an original one it would be greatly appreciated.

Would this be more appropriate in the asm request thread? I was hoping someone might provide a quick fix that I didn't know of...

Haven't recieved any help on this yet... or figured it out on my own... I did play BMF's oddyssey demo, best hack I've played, and noticed it uses charging chuck as a boss(guess my idea wasn't that original ) When chuck dies in that level a door opens in the background. Is this done with custom blocks that BMF made? If so could I please use them? I had planned on including several custom bosses in a similar style to BMF's.

Hope I don't get yelled at for bumping, this is kinda old.

ttyyuu, heck of a bump for no reason, but since it's up now...

Sprite tool has a couple custom sprites that react when all enemies are killed. one triggers the level ending (normal or secret). Another generates a key or keyhole. This makes is simple to make any room a boss room.
