I don't know if anyone will know this...perhaps Squash Monster, and maybe some other experienced people.

I just finished making 3-8, which, as you all know, is Naval Pirahna's Castle. The level in EggVine uses sprite 171, labeled NSP, to apparently trigger the battle. However, when I use this sprite, it does nothing. I mean, nothing at all.

My question is - how do I trigger this fight using EggVine? (or hex editor or whatever)

I hope it's not to late to reply to this, but I gotten that far in my hack yet. Did you try to edit the whole level and the battle too.
One thing that I found out is that when Golden Yoshi told me to that, I had the same problem,but it was probably b/c I was trying to change the order of the bosses so I replaced the 1-4,and it worked fine. However, when I got to 1-8, I tried to use the 1-4 one, and he just bounced and you never got hurt so the battle wouldnt start.
I dont know if I'm that experienced to answer your question accurately, but it might have to do where the enemy is (ex. in Naval Pirahna,I tried looking up the rooms where it was in Eggvine and it says something, like "Error".level 7F, I think. The sprite was at the bottom and before the other objects in the level so it looked like it was before where the battle actually starts in the game.) Also, that level is in the water, and it has those rocks that fall down before the battle starts so when you get to that spot in the emulator, the battle actually starts.
I hope this helps, but maybe Golden Yoshi would know how to explain it better. I think he probably didnt move the spot where the boss was on the screen, if I understand what you are saying in your post.

Thanks for the reply....I completely forgot about those rocks that come up actually. I decided to completely get rid of Naval Pirhana from my hack, and instead, replaced it with more of a boss "room" (lots of obstacles and stuff)

I think you may be right about where the enemy may be ... might actually have to be in a certain position. I tried to leave 7F the same so the boss would still work, but in my hack, that level is glitched or something.

Thanks again...I might actually try using this boss towards the end of my hack
