I still haven't solved this problem and I don't think any FAQs answered it (I just skimmed through them).

Here we go... you know that door in Zelda's room that you unlock with a master key? Well, wait, first off, I did what I was not supposed to and I totally revamped Zelda's room, but apart from this everything's okay... THE DAMN THING WON'T WORK. When I go up to the door, no matter what kind of key I have, it won't open. It won't even make a message telling me "hey guess what you can't open this damn thing without a key"... well, you know what I mean.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Can you reproduce it from a fresh rom? Or is it just something that has happened to your rom and you don't know how to reverse it? (Please make a fresh copy and test it out to be sure.)

I'm curious why it wouldn't work, so if it's a general thing I will investigate it.

I'm starting to think that you didn't put zelda's room in a dungeon.

check the proper entrance which you enter from and the bottom at the "dungeon", because it's obvious that there's no big key in non-dungeon areas thus that lock block will never work.

Well it's either that or it's not in the right dungeon. (Can you even mix dungeons?) I know the Sewer and Hyrule Castle mix together, but the programmers took pains to make it work that way for most of it.

What I did was do something I'm not supposed to do, I editted the Zelda room... totally. I didn't notice any problems with it... other than this. I'm not sure that would be the reason though.
