I can't see how you can mistake it for a user. When the last registered user thing was on the top right before this incident, it never showed the post count of a new user so why would it start now.
Not to mention the fact that it didn't stop showing the newest registered user...

I'm not clicking it. The leader of the penguins tells me it's not the shiny red button I'm supposed to press. He says I should press the huge red button that has a skull and cross-bones on it.

I think it's a step in the right direction. Anything that manages to rid the board, even temporarily, of certain such people but not lots of good people like Kyouji or BMF or someone in that vein of stupid-lacking thought can't be all bad.

There are people truly curious who would click it and there are actual browser or keyboard-related accidents. I myself have clicked "Ban me" buttons in the past becuaes I was honestly curious about what would happen, and that was fine since no button has ever actually banned me. There are some idiots it didn't catch, too.

These methods should be refined. New and more accurate idiot catch-alls should be deployed. I see this as nothing more or less than a brick in the road to an idiot-free tomorrow. Keep at it.

I swear I'm like one of the smart members that aren't tempted to click the link. Seriously no one can get me to click it. As me seeing something red and flashing usually means it's not a good thing. Especially with what it says.

Yeah, but people don't just get added to your post radar, you have to add them. And if someone is that slow to not think "hmm, are they in my post radar? Let me actually look before doing anything!" then that's their own fault.

I think Colin meant he has no sympathy for people who click it, get unbanned by an admin, then click it again.

Absolutely. It's all fun and games (... ) the first time, but if you're trying to test an admin's patience by doing it again when you KNOW what it does... ugh.

Put it this way; if someone did that, I'd "forget" to unban them for a little bit.
