I can't see how you can mistake it for a user. When the last registered user thing was on the top right before this incident, it never showed the post count of a new user so why would it start now.

Post radar does.

Yeah, but people don't just get added to your post radar, you have to add them. And if someone is that slow to not think "hmm, are they in my post radar? Let me actually look before doing anything!" then that's their own fault.

And it's right below the clock, christ. Do you ever see a name there? IN THE SAME BOX?

Y'know, can't Xkeeper just put something in and it shows up to the entire board? It only takes a few codes to make it look like something else.

Nope, and that's why I clicked it. I'm a curious person.

A curious person who didn't look at the address in the link when highlighted, specifically the "banme" bit.

If you replace "curious" with another word, your post is more accurate.

It would be nice if the people who clicked the link would all keep an insulting title after they got unbanned.

He should make it read, "Ban Xkeeper!" I wonder how many n00bs would be claimed then... Actually I thought the whole thing was more reverse phsycosis(sp?) You know, with the "stickys" being "ignore this"s So I fell for it...

That's because true romhackers are innovative, and currious... click the button, you know you want to. (I did)

It might be becasue my forum skin is the FF9 menu theme, but for some reason I think my button is broke. It or the light won't flash. I'd try and test it out, of course, but...

I was expecting something amusing to happen upon clicking it, not expecting to delete the board - that's absurd anyway. And I get banned for that? Okay, but then a stupid title attached to my account, calling me ignorant? Uhh.. who thought this up? No, I don't think I'm stupid for expecting to witness a comical parody on the forum here - I do think whomever thought the idea up was however, at using a bunch of people as the brunt of his own joke.

I'm probably the forums best lurker, so the lack of posting ability is moot to me, but I just thought I'd comment for once and say this; this was a terrible idea. You're banning the curious, and perhaps even a few regulars who didn't check general first or whom weren't inside the loop to know what was going to happen. I don't see how that's funny at all.. This forum has always had some amusing twists to it, but this just seems like someones excuse to amuse themselves on a bored day..

Weren't you all trying to RAISE posting activity awhile back? Isn't this a little counter productive? This isn't a request to restore my account, because as I said, it is frankly irrelevent to me - a lurker who just views the place 99% of the time. But seriously, what was up with this?

Edit:
And no I'm not trying to take this overly serious, I'm not uptight, and I can take a joke. I just don't see how this was at all a good idea.. And as well, no it wasn't obvious. I don't generally check URL tags in my browser unless I am on an untrusted or unfamiliar site, this wasn't one of them, so don't try and justify this terrible idea with "well you should have looked" because you can't expect people to always pay that close attention. (It was easy to overlook even if you were paying attention)
