Hector's voice caused the half-breed to look in his direction. Ok straight foreward attack at her was not a smart move as she feinted hard left and kicked at his mid-section. Then with Forte flying up to meet her. She had to keep all senses opened. Xana had to laugh at Forte's comment.

"So very wrong there as I wasn't going to wait that long to jump in. As a matter of fact I was going to jump in before Hector tried to do a straight foreward attack at me."

She then flew at Forte with her right arm brought back and poised to strike when she got in close enough range to connect with his lower jaw.

Hector came to a very shocking realization. He couldn't fly. Hector tried to twist in the air, but it was no use, his path was easily predictable and he couldn't even manage to get a parry in before Xana kicked him. He fell towards the ground into the middle of the fighters. He was glad he fell feet first as doing a flip could've ended up messy.

Hector hit the ground with a thud, but he didn't seem that injured. Hector looked around, the only person he saw even half ready to fight was a young girl.

Hector: "This isn't my style, but since you've survived this long, I doubt you'll go down easily!"

Hector dashed at Aether with his same old generic forward charge.

He grinned as she flew right towards him ready to strike. "Breath of Gospel!" He morphed both hands into Gospel heads and unleashed two of Gospel's elemental breaths; in this case, Fire and Electricity.

The thing about forward charges, Aether realized as Hector approached, was that they were only a real danger to the indecisive. Other attacks required a specific course of action to avoid, but the forward charge, with an opponent rushing at you, just have so many opportunities of attack. The difficult part was deciding what, exactly, to do. The girl had seen some of Hector's moves and come to a certain realization of his style. This might be overdoing it, she thought, as he might, indeed, just be charging. But it couldn't hurt. Her, that is.

She concentrated as he approached, determining what, exactly, it was that she wanted to do, as this was a bit more complicated. Having decided, she hit the ground with force that sent out a ripple of Earth in all directions from her. It likely wouldn't do much more than trip someone up, but whether or not it did, they had a nasty surprise waiting. It was a magic tripwire of sorts, and any being who went over the ripple, jumping to avoid it or being tripped, would find themselves hit by a breath of flame from shortly on the other side. Not quite as visually impressive, Aether realized, as a true flamewall, but a lot more efficient, since a full circular flamewall would lose a lot of power and height as it went outwards.

Hector's thoughts: "All right, let's see if this works..."

Hector seemed to skid to a stop and he threw his sword above Aether. As earth move was about to hit Hector, he vanished. His sword hung above Aether by about thirty feet and suddenly, it flashed brightly. The sword began to spin madly and Hector seemed to be thrown out of the sword. He grabbed onto the hilt and rocketed straight down at Aether.

Xanaphia was crazy (at least others may think that with this kind of behavior) as she didn't even bother to change flight pattern out of the way of a twin attack. Sure it was quite painful combination and did faulter a bit. But she didn't go down and kept going at Forte for a frontal assault. Feathers charred and burnt (along with her clothes and hair), yet the half-breed still went on for a punch/kick combo.

Aether: Fucking teleporters...

Maybe it's because she had never quite mastered it, and even her dad had some trouble with it in the midst of a battle, but the girl had always been rather annoyed by those who would and could do that, seemingly at will. A cheap dodge, she'd always felt. But she smiled. His sword throw had revealed something of his plan with a decent amount of time to spare. She could have let her attack keep going and get anyone else caught in it, but Hector's little disappearing act had forced her hand.

Aether seemed to almost pull up the earth where she stood with her arm motion, and while the small earthwave kept its outward trajectory, perhaps tripping up another fighter, the firetrap spell was reversed and flowed back to the source. The girl jumped backwards from where she had stood as the flamejet spewed rather large out of the ground, engulfing Hector's downward path as it flared far stronger, due to its concentration, than it would have in the original attack.

When she showed no signs of backing away, Forte flew at her, and he'll try to block her punch/kick combos with several of his own. "Fine! Let's fight then half-breed!"

Down on the ground, hidden completely in the shadows, a female version of Forte kept hidden, watching them all. Utter fools... Sonance smiled to herself, before she vanished out of existance.

ooc: GAH, don't you people have weekend schedules that keep you busy?
---

If Pie had any capacity for human emotion, he would have laughed at the simplistic slash that Zee made. He easily blocked it, one-handedly holding his rod at a horizontal angle, and once the blow was absorbed he immediately spun the weapon around and jabbed it forward for a quickly executed counter.

Then came Aether's magic tripwire. That didn't concern Pie, as he always hovered a half foot or so above the ground while fighting. He was about to defend himself from the ensuing wall of fire, however, until it suddenly reversed its course to close in around Hector.

This was not acceptable. All of the other fighters were going to destroy each other before he could sample more of their power. Time for a split...

Pie turned a transparent blue color, streaming with sketchy lines, and to any observer's surprise one image of the armored boy floated out of the other. Both Pies returned to their normal fluorescent coloration, standing in a line by each other. In this form, each Pie would deal half the normal amount of damage, yet all damage received would be halved as well.

Pie >> "..."

AlphaPie remained where he stood, and fired a not-too-powerful beam of cyber energy at Zee. It might not be incredibly strong anymore, but it still moved at a speed that rivaled light...

BetaPie speedily glided over to the Aether/Hector conflict, rod at the ready, and observed their battle with a blinking visor.

Hector: "Heh, perfect."

Hector watched as BetaPie came closer to them. As the fire was about to hit him, he held his sword to it and as soon as it touched the fire bounced off from the sword and headed towards BetaPie. Hector seemed to float until the fire ended when he semi-gracefully landed on the ground.

Hector: "It wasn't a teleport anyways, you could have stopped it had you stopped my sword."

((Well, in that case you may have broken the physics of the attack. If you contained any part of your life essence in the sword, then the sword would have effectively crossed the magic tripwire which extended a decent distance above the shockwave, and been hit by the attack...as for the fire, it was a pretty wide column of flame, not exactly able to be deflected by a sword unless the sword was about Exor (SMRPG) sized))

OoC: Sword doesn't contain any form of Hector except his reflection, and Hector has to use his sword to bend attacks like that, it doesn't matter how big they are. Think of it like the flame is drawn to the sword concentrates at the sword and then bounces and returns to normal. Strength of the attack would change if Hector could do it or not, but this just seems like a generic fire attack to me. If this was supposed to be really powerful, tell me so I can change my post.

((Well, as I said, it was rather supposed to be really powerful. Basically think that if the arena were surrounded by people, every one of them would have been hit by a firewall...and this is effectively all of that put into one rather large flame column, with all of that power put into a single rather large thing, keeping a column shape rather than just a projectile fire attack))

OoC: All right, done. Going back to the tripwire attack.

Hector slowed down as the attack came towards him. He could tell that this combination could be better avoided by relying on the underground rooms that the warriors used to prepare at. Unwillingly probably, but never the less!

Hector: "All right, let's see just how much you know about old buildings!"

Hector jabbed his sword into the ground and broke the a slab of conrete that used to cover an elevator. He jumped down into it with a few seconds to spare before the attack hit him. He already had a plan, unless someone followed him, he would be able to ambush someone from below the ground.

((Well that was arguably a far worse plan, and also rather selective, as you really can't go that far back without disrupting several people's moves, and kind of screwing up the flow of the battle. Still, if you insist...))

It wasn't long before Hector realized that going underground when a ground-based attack was approaching was, indeed, a mistake. Had he taken the time to close the panel behind him, he might have avoided it, but the attack, when it came to the pit that was the elevator, at least the specific part that was to move over that. The thing about ground-based magic is that ground is a relative term in the magical world rather than an absolute floor of sorts.

As such, Hector found himself hit in the face by the dirt as the attack shifted to the lower floor, soon afterwards rising back to the surface as it reached the other side of the shaft. And just as it did, he broke the magic tripwire, and was beset by flames. Not particularly huge flames, as they would be had it been concentrated in a single flame column, but rather hot fire surrounding him for a few seconds.

Aether saw the shockwave move underground after Hector and figured he'd been hit, but would be rather disappointed if it didn't hit any other fighters, as she'd done it in the first place to get around his "copies" approach to fighting. Not wanting to be caught off guard, as she'd done some colosseum fighting herself before and knew about the underground rooms, she jumped back up into the stands to watch the fight.

Xana just smirked when he called her a half-breed. She blocked his kicks and punches as well. While trying to land some blows of her own. Unlike most of the fighters here, she didn't have a weapon nor any other abilities. Except for shadow porting which was useless with the daylight. So hand-to-hand combat and flying were her forte.

Zee would have snarled, but he was far too much happy to bother. "Heh... time to see how material you are..." he merely replied, just as Pie (OoC: either one or both of them) felt a pain on the parts the blood had touched him... more like a knife that had just went through the blood! But the blood seemed to be awfully dry...

He blocked Pie's counter with his own blade, before rolling away - just as Pie divided and spread around. "Aw, man... am I going to have to get more of you now?" he asked before seeing the odd blast about to be sent towards his direction. "Crap."

He barely avoided it, but he was in a bad position to counter, since he was supporting himself with the sword.

OOC: Internal speaking between Forte and Gospel. Forte's is light purple, Gospel's is blue. Been reading too much of that art comic from Stage-Select.com...

"Why in hell does this remind me of that one damned anime show?"

"Oh, so you do watch DBZ..."

"Shut up Gospel..."

As Forte tried to lash out with several Crescent Kicks, which if they are unsucessful hits, a blast of wind may force into her and blow her away from Forte, the two continued speaking to one another mentally.

"So Forte, got a plan for taking her out?"

"Meh, thinking about just winging it."

"Oh yeah, Forte, just recieved email."

"I won't even ask how..."

"It seems Grey's pulling the plug on the Sim-Battle Veterans who have the ability to make copies of others' techinques, abilities, and/or attacks from here on out. Looks like you won't be able to go along your original plan when you entered this FFA."

"What!?"

"Not kidding either, and David agrees quite well on that plan. You won't get any more powerful than you already are, seeing as you hold part of the Living Assets within your own programming frame..."

Forte growled audibly, before flying far away from her. "Blades of Bugs!" He swung his claws and fired off several dark purple energy blades.

Both Pies went into a spasm when Zee's cursed blood cut into their armor like an invisible knife. The blood had coated the original Pie, and was divided equally among Alpha and Beta during the split, so the damage taken was whole. After a second of the convulsions, both Pies flashed with light and regained their cool, now clean of blood.

AlphaPie had been too busy to take advantage of Zee's loss of balance, recovering likely at the same time as his opponent. But once prepared, Pie did not hold back; he swiftly skated forward on the air, rod held steady and crackling with electricity! But then, just before making impact, there was a blinding flash of light, and when it cleared Zee was surrounded by
three Pies! Each Pie floated circles around him, their moves precisely synchronized to their twins. This was getting complicated...

BetaPie was prepared to dive into battle with Aether and Hector, until one escaped to the underground and the other to the stands. He detected a being, obviously Hector, prowling around below - likely waiting for a chance to spring up and ambush an unsuspecting fighter. Following suite with Aether, the cybernetic warrior glided to the stands for safety and engaged the girl by firing a polybomb that was aimed to explode on the seat in front of her, showering her in shrapnel.

Zee would have smirked, but he was not that interested in it yet. Taking a sharp pebble from the ground, he slashed at his own arm, drawing blood - and let it move down to his sword, at first seeming to make one edge sharper... but then he made a spinning motion, sending a metallic blade at them! If it struck any of the Pies, they'd notice that it felt just like the blood that touched them before.
