Actually, the only problem I have with the 5,000th thread being made by a newbie is that the recent wave of registrations usually only bring members that don't post much, if at all.

Look, once more, at the thread in question. The guy posted only once, and hasn't posted again. Also notice that the thread has no replies. See what I mean?

Maybe if Kyouji had made it, it would have gotten more attention.

The point is more that we HAVE 5000 threads; the 5000th thread itself is trivial. Much like winning a million dollars; is the millionth dollar so much more important than the first?

This is only slightly trivial, in that this thread itself is a spammy addition to the 5000+ other threads. More than half of those 5000 threads are dead and tns of them are threads that got closed by a mod because it was pointless.
