I'm somehow sad to not see something along the lines of "STAR GET!", but I'll live. That's pretty cool.

Unfortunately, the planets remind me FAR too much of the ones in Sonic Adventure 2's Mad Space, but it doesn't look like they're actually that similar. I just get disoriented by the planet-ness of them.

Even better: Microsoft veep Peter Moore pimping the Wii-60 combo platter. That's right, for the cost of a non-crippled PS3, you can (presumably) get a Wii and top-of-the-line 360. Ridiculous, no?

Microsoft employers have shown respect for Nintendo in the past, so it's not really that new.

Though it was "intresting" enough to get on slashdot.

It's interesting because it's Microsoft just kicking Sony like crazy when they're down. Facing off against a $599 price isn't a hard thing to do.

And really, if you're going to spend that much on a console, why not get two for the price of one?

While the combination is definitely amusing, it's most likely mainly Microsoft deciding to get as many digs in at its larger competitor as possible. And it's not like they're losing anything by suggesting people buy a second console, since they've already got the money.

Still not quite sure who would be willing to pay 599 for a console, besides rich kids...

People who want a cheap Blu-Ray player since the actual players will cost more at launch I think.

Sony have more PR work to do after E3 than they did during it.

First - Reggie blows smoke out of his ass a lot. I take what he says with a grain of salt quite often. He has a bad habit of speaking out when he ought not to. I'm going to wait for a strong statement from Nintendo before the speculation on price begins.

Colin - generally you buy the console because you want to play the games or use its features. Getting a Wii and a 360 simply wouldn't be an attractive option to many. How else are they going to fawn over a tech demo of Cloud Strife?

Yes, that worries me. I HATED the space levels, and this game looks a lot like them. I imagine it'll end up being totally different though.

The reason the PS3 is 600 bucks is the blu-ray, and thats it. One blu-ray reader is going to cost 700 at the start. From what I have heard though, the blu-ray reader doesnt do anything for gameplay, it just makes the disc bigger basically. When it comes down to it, I would rather play 10 games with 20 levels than 1 game with 200 levels. Also since its blu-ray, it will read it faster. So, those things all summed up, we are paying twice as much as the system is worth, so we can have less loading time on ridiculously huge games. Yay.

Sorry if my speech seems off a bit. Didnt sleep last night and cant sleep now.

Hmmm... Well, I think it should be about $150 for the Wii because my friend already paid for it... If it's not $150, I wouldn't mind too much anyways.

I have to admit though - placing a price on the nintendo back catalog was dumb. I know few people who would rather pay for a ROM on the Wii (How are they even sotred on your Wii, anyways?) then just download it for free onto their computers. Mario Galaxy Looks cool.

I also know lots of people who would be more than willing to download ROMs for free rather than buying the real cartridge, so that's a hard thing to use as a counterpoint. At any rate, the whole legality thing would somewhat help out... Paying a few bucks to have a legal copy of whatever game to be played without having to buy/build a new controller for your computer.

A lot of people don't even know about emulation, however. So they still stand to make some good money off this.

Plus there are some games that play better through a console than on a PC.

If you mean stored, I'm, guessing the built-in 512MB flash ROM has something to do with it. If you mean sorted, who knows?

Thing is, there is no date or price yet. Just like there isnt a price for SSB:B. I could go give gamestop 50 bucks for it and say its paid for, but it might not be. Just because your friend paid $150 for it doesnt mean it will be 150.

True, sometimes when you preorder you can do a deposit or something. So I assume if it costs 200 USD, that friend would only pay 50 USD.

Funny, before Wii I thought my TV was enough. now i'm considering to get a bigger one. (Even my computer monitor is bigger...)
