Impressive. I can see a lot of work went into this hack. I'm definently inspired. You should help us with Metroid Online. You're good at level design.

I am in Norfair in the lower middle/left in a big room with caverns, lava, and a savepoint. The way I entered is too high to jump out, and the other possible exits require power bombs or being on the other side of a wall to shoot. Help!

The grapple beam is in the lower right area of Norfair. Break the glass tube to the right of room where you fought Kraid and just make your way down. After you get the grapple beam, get ready for some 'out of this world' grapple puzzles. They are as superb as the bomb maze puzzles and will really test your skills.

Chibi Gatomon, are you stuck in any particular place down there in Norfair..there are some wicked rooms down there that will make you pull your hair out.

I forgot who is kraid? Forgot what he looks like. I'm stuck too with finding the grappling hook also, but I don't think I fought him yet.

You've fought Kraid. He's the big green dude that launces the spikes out of his belly at you and whatnot.

Ok... I've got:
146 missiles, 16 super missiles, 18 power bombs, graphle hook, x-ray, varia suite, hi-ju, wall-jump, charge, ice, wave, spazer, reserve tank, cleared about 5 or 6 of 12 statues.
I'm missing the graphity suite and the space-jump. I bet the graphity is past the Lost-Caverns as I don't get anywhere in Meridia. Is there a hint to get through or should I have to check more than 4^x combinations ?! (I'm not willing to....)

another thing I would change for the next version: reveal parts of the statues at some places like when they're hidden together with an item. I would rarely go back to recheck such rooms and a not hardcore metroid fan will simply quit.

@chibi: search in the upper left quarter of Norfair. You'll need the speedboaster... (sorry I won't spoil the game)
btw. the x-ray is pretty much useless as it doesn't reveal most hidden passages. Only destroyable walls.

you can figure it out, just keep looking at your map... you shall see the difference.

btw care to share some of the statue locations? I'm trying to find Norfair 1,2 and crateria 2 (drew did give a clue on Norfair 1 in SW norfair but it didn't help )

@Euclid: Thanks for the hint, I didn't mentioned it before and I think without the mouse pointing at the old locations I would have been pretty annoyed.

damn, I've already written a lot of text about the statues here... moved it to a textfile. I don't want to spoil the locations to every one here. I just give the descriptions of the one I assume you're looking for. Some of the locations I can't access myself right now but I'm pretty sure they're right or if not worth checking out
If these aren't the locations you're looking for tell me which irc chan you're on and I tell you the others.

Norfair: To the left is a long vertical you have to get down to acces lower Norfair (near the Brinstar acces in the upper left corner) At the bottom, in the second room which is filled with lava and those red jumping enemys. Use the morphball, jump into the lava, move to the left and powerbomb your way through! (reminds me of Metroid 2 )

Norfair, To the rigth in the room with Brinstar-acces use a super missile near the lowerleft in the following room you can powerbomb the white floor and it's again a run against your energy.

Crateria, one is above the second huge room to the right of start. But in the first half of the room! You should see the suspicious speedblocks when you climb the first "hill" and jump to the right.

I believe I may have found a bug. In this room in East Norfair, when your traveling "In the background in ball form, if you lay a bomb at the sides of the room where you cant see yourself, the game freaks out and displays a black screen. The music keeps playing though.

This hack sucks I'm still stuck can't even find the grapple hook. On gamefaqs board that guy said there is a room with tubes with acid and a energy tank, but not sure what to do. Why is this so confusing to complete. Not sure if its after the U shape room or before. Getting really sick of this stuck all the time.

Yes, heaven forbid a hack of a puzzle-esque game require you to THINK! Of course you're going to get stuck, that doesn't make it suck.. This is one of the most well designed hacks I've ever seen for cripes sake.. The fact people are getting stumped a lot just proves it is so well done! With a couple of exceptions, everything is very easily solvable once you know how to do it anyway, or where to look. (A hack that sucks would be full of insane near impossible to solve puzzles and trap ridden rooms everywhere.)

If you're going to criticize, do so, you don't have to enjoy it after all.. But leave out the obligatory "this hack sucks" and add a bit more meat to your post, eh?
