First time I beat this I had somewhere in the mid 70% for items. I scanned through the game for a good 5 more hours and found lots of things (as well as headaches I wouldn't try, like the 2 ibj puzzles and the isp canaster things). Just beat it again and now I'm mid 80%. I'm going nuts. I'm losing sleep.

Few things on my mind -

What is mochball? I read it's needed once in this hack. I've used the speedball to get an item in maridia. What's the difference? How might I go about trying to do this.

Lastly, and I will continue browsing this thread for in depth descriptions, but I'm still having no luck making continuous shinesparks.

mockball is the same thing as speedball, except when you do not have speedbooster.

to spark-charge simply speedboost and charge a shine spark. run as far as you can to the next slope, and do a horizontal spark into the slope, holding down both the direction you are moving, and the run button. samus will start running on contact with the slope. all you need to do is charge the shine spark again by pressing down. rinse/repeate

I can't do this consistently, but once in a while I'll do a horizontal spark into a incline and I'll stop it and start running. Mind you the shine is gone, just vanishes.

alright.. is there an error in your hack? cause that dot in crocomires room is getting to me. I've done just about everything to look.

theres also a room in norfair (lava and grappler blocks) where i can get to the top of the grapple blocks through a super missle block and it leads nowhere. ive done just about everything there too.

please shed some light on these matters.

that dot was there in the original too, it shows where crocomire died and there was no item there.

Hey, Drew. Went through a hard patch in the real world for a bit, but I'm back.

Does SM:R work on the new version of ZSNES?

I just went through Norfair and got the Ice Beam (that was bloody brilliant, by the way!). Where am I supposed to go next?

Also, I have an odd suspicion that I'm missing an E-Tank. I have three. Am I missing one?

Sorta. I won't tell you much, but....

Spoiler (Energy Tank):You know that run you just took? To get the Ice Beam? Yeah, that one. Remember the super-annoying maze? At the top of it is your Energy Tank. Either get it now, or do what I did- Wait until you have the Varia. Me, I didn't know it was there, so I kinda missed it until I got Gravity. It's hard to get without Spring Ball (packaged with High-Jump), though.

Please don't let me have typed "spoiler" wrong.... You can get through the game without that Energy Tank, though. I think you shuld wait until you're more equipped to get it.

Alright, I'm completely stuck in this room. Can someone tell me what to do? I try mid-air morphball, but that doesn't work. Please help! D:

I just got the Speed Booster, and now I'm heading for the Wave Beam. There's but one problem... Where the hell is it?! D:
I know it's in Norfair, somewhere, right?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Ugh. Well, I assume I leave Norfair and explore around Brinstar some more, yes? Correect me if I'm wrong.

The picture : That leads to a power bomb, if I remember. It's been a couple months. Best way is to freeze that thing that bounces from the cieling and just time it.

As for the wave beam, lemme put it this way...

You've looked up before to get something here... why not look up again?

Got Wave Beam. I'm in a room in Crateria with those fish monsters right before the room with the Gravity Suit (I had to look at a map...). I can get to the final ledge before the ledge where you power-bomb the blocks. I can't get up there. Please help! D:

I have everything except Space Jump, Spazer, Plasma, Screw Attack and Gravity Suit.

It's OK. I already figured it out. I had to gain access through the Lost Cavern. Dx

Now, I assume I explore Maridia. Unfortunately, I took the wrong elevator and got hit with a Super Missle gate from the wrong side. D:
Is there another route?

FreeDOS I promise thee mine first born. This huge thread should have been moved here long ago. Nothing against the thread, I was just tired of seeing what is basically a hack gameplay thread in the rom hacking section.

Could someone pretty please give me a hand?

I found a Super Metroid (JU) [!] rom, and I have Redesign 2.0. What version of zsnes should I be able to use? Ive applied both the header ips and the headerless ips to different 2 copies of the Super metroid rom, but I cant seem to get either to work. Ive tried zsnes 1.35, 1.36, and 1.51. No combination of any seems to work.

Could someone attempt to shed some light on this problem? This sounds like a really great hack, and I would much enjoy playing it.

If possible, could someone also explain to me what "header" and "headerless" both mean and what they do for the rom? Im a bit curious as to their meanings.

That would be because the ZSNES is, for whatever reason, incompatible with the FREAKING AWESOME that is SM:R. I dunno if anyone knows why.

I played on Snes9x. I forget which model.
