I love the hack, and I love the new Morpgball sprite. Quick question before I get really into it (i'm moving soon, and don't want to be thinking about when when my computer's packed), in terms of difficulty, how hard would you say it was, Drewseph?

Would it be possible to tell me the right way?
Even if you put it in a poiler tag!

I know that those three little lights reflect my bullets, but when I jump into the acid and shoot up, nothing happens.

I feel like I've tried everything!

Please, just give me the answer!

I will heart you always and forever!!1

*EDIT*

OMFG!! I GOT IT!!!!

That was the hardest thing ever!!!

I dunno if I should spoil it to others, seeing as I had to (kinda) figure it out for myself),

DW, that was way too hard, really.

It wasn't really that bad once you realized that you shouldn't run into the room and dive straight into the acid. The main issue is just that you don't have anything like that in the regular game.

...The metal door under Spore Spawn's room seems a bit finicky. I went through it after defeating Spore Spawn so it wasn't metal, tried to open it, and failed, but then went down the corridor and came back and it opened fine. I'm not sure if it's reproducible, but it seems like a bit of a bug to me.

The only problem with the acid room is that you don't know about the switch. There's nothing like that in SM, and the switch isn't really visible so it's like "hey guess I went the wrong way". if you could see the switch, it would be a great puzzle and a huge programming achievement. Otherwise, it probably frustrates many people to the point where they stop playing.

Pretty cool game, though there doesn't seem to be much in the way of items and whatnot to find (yet).

Got it working! To the author:

First let me commend you on your hard work. I bought Oblivion today and find myself playing your hack instead. Your work has the potential to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest hack of all time. You did a phenomenal job and it's too bad that the glory isn't as much as the work you put into this puppy. You are immortalized sir. This is truely one of the greatest moments in gaming. Congrats!!

Like I said, Drew, look at things from somebody else's point of view.

See, most of them time when people introduce new things, they give out an instruction booklet. Maybe you can add a section of your readme to outline some things and how to use them?

I really want to play it, but my ZSNES is effed up...yes, I'm using ver. 1.36.

It says "16 Bit Color" or something, and then the game won't load, and ZSNES freezes up.

Eh...?

Actually, that would help a lot. It's kinda hard to guess that thing in the acid room, especially given that in the original game, nothing dealing with slopes is ever really worth shooting or anything. Actually, I don't think I would have ever gotten through that room if Jigglysaint's comment about reflection wasn't made.

Of course, it's also worth noting that things which reflect beams also reflect missiles. That's what actually tripped me up initially, aside from my whole "If I run just a BIT faster, I can jump across that pit!" mentality.

Alright, I take it back. After you get the bombs a lot of new areas and optional stuff opens up, and I'm really into it now. At this point the game doesn't really feel like a hack, but like Zero Mission or Fusion or a new GBA metroid. Anyone patiently waiting for the next metroid game (or 2D castlevania) will really enjoy this, which is why I find it surprising that it isn't more advertised around other forums and such.

Very interesting.

I'd love to give this hack a try but I can't seem to find a working download link on the page featured in the first post.

Was it taken down?

Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot for not looking around more. I'm liking the hack so far, even though I ended up dying on my first run through Crateria. The entire layout is very different from what I remember in the original. Good stuff.

Ok I've been playing this hack foor awile and let me say that this thing is Godly. I love the way thi hack plays out. And as I thought tht the wall-jumping was going to be some rediculasely hard thing judging from previous posts but its simple you'd think they'd never played Metroid Fusion or Zero Mission.

Just one small thing in the acid room with the reflector things. I've gotten past the first part but then what? Theres nothing I can do the "I might be able to run through the acid" stratagy has the same problem as the first time but this time there is absolutely nothing to get to. I can't get the ball through the holes in the cieling and I see nothing to shoot for another bridge to pop up (even though I can see the bridge). The only thing that stands out is the pointless grip bug. What da heck am I supposd to do next?

Well I'm officially stuck in the water. Can't get out. Here is the location of where I am.

Edit: I have not save with the real save instead of the save state forever. So I'm not going to start all over to my save spot.

Megaman, see those three coloured thingoes at an angle? Shoot them with a missile, and a bridge will open up. After that, it should be self explanitory. If you're stuck on the jumps -- keep at 'em. they're do-able!

Cecil: After you've gotten the Wall-Jump Boots, you're supposed to go as far north-east as you can in Crateria, untill you enter a room with acid as the gound. At this point, refer to my previous paragraph for details.

Is the author aware that jumping from a crouched position allows you to jump higher in this hack? After beating kraid and using this techniqueI think I found a way to break sequence... or maybe this is where im supposed to be? It was insanely hard to get here so I doubt it (had to jump through spikes and whatnot). I'm now at the plant-filled brinstar with the uptempomusic. I spent at least an hour looking for somewhere else to go, so I'm just going to keep going this way.

What you just explained to him, he already said he got past. For those that missed the reflector, I'm surprised, very surprised. It is however the next part that he (and myself) are stumped on.. And no, it isn't self explanitory at all. There is obviously a place for another bridge to extend, but there is no switch visible and no further reflectors. The holes in the ceiling just simply are not reachable either, and I think they were merely placed as a clever taunt or distraction even.

Trying to dash from the tiny metal stand and jumping across is suicide.. So that tactic is no good at all. Really, I have been puzzled with this room awhile now. I love the hack though, brillance it is, especially if it can stump me this good.. though I get the feeling I'm overlooking the obvious now..
