Sabata found his feet to slip, and barely managed to hand on to the now transformed branch, surprised. The fact that everything seemed to be changing had surprised him, and those screams he heard were just distracting him.

However, when he saw what happened to Jack, he snarled, and pointed his Gun del Hell at him. "Do you think these work on me?" he asked, as he fired once... twice... thrice...

"I'm not one to be afraid of mere illusions... not after having faced demons far more horrible than these!" He didn't know exactly how to get rid of whatever was in his body yet, but he wasn't going to quit yet.

The shots all hit Jack, who was still slow and stiff from the fall. Both of his arms appeared to fall off of his torso when struck, spilling blood and insects all over the place, but two new limbs grew back shortly after - although they had never truly fallen off in the first place.

Jack: "How can you be sure that these are illusions? Don't confuse reality with your own twisted mind."

Jack chucked his dagger into the base of Sabata's monstrous tree, and it glew an earthy brown. The blade rumbled for a moment, and then produced a cloud of a hundred quite real bats that flew up to the treetop to bite and dive into Sabata, and latch on with their teeth to drink his blood. This ought to make it even harder for him to keep his hold on the snake-branch. The bats appeared even more monstrous due to the hallucinogen, although this might do little to affect the brave Sabata."

Jack glanced curiously at the coffin when he thought he heard something stir inside. Then it all made sense to him.

Jack: "Ohhh... you said he wasn't dead... but he is, in a sense. He's the vampire I saw..." Jack quietly said to himself. He created a flame in his hand and contemplatively held it over the coffin, but decided against burning it. He was only here for some kind of sick fun, but not for killing - especially not something as cool as a vampire.

Sabata snarled, before hopping to a branch on the tree behind him, but he nearly didn't make it, and was only capable of sending a Nightmare Grenade at them, which would explode upon hitting the bats, likely damaging most... if not all of them.

"So, my mind is twisted, yet you make those offers? I hardly can agree!" he responded, trying to ignore this mess... it just couldn't be all real... they just couldn't be...

Then, he saw it was approaching the coffin, its spectral hand aflame... and nearly panicked. "Stay away from that!" he demanded, just as he fired three shots at the strange undead creature.

Jack considered Sabata's reasoning, and admitted to himself that he had a point.

Jack: "Well, you still are imagining a lot of this, so you have to have some warped imagination tucked away in your filthy skull."

When Sabata fired again, Jack whirled away and avoided all three shots. He then held his hand to the ground, and in a strange motion began pulling all of the nearby shadows into a dark sphere that formed in his palm.

Jack: "Won't you come down from there? I think the finale to the illusion is about to kick in."

Several of the bats had been blown apart in reality, but they appeared to continually pester Sabata as mutilated forms of their past selves. The real ones, still large in number, continued to bite at him and try to push him off the tree, which now seemed to come to life and snap at him with toothy mouths on its branch. Yet the illusion faded for a moment... just before everything blacked out, and then reappeared hazy and blaringly loud, now transformed to model the images of Sabata's deepest nightmares. Still, it only lasted for a second (which should have been overwhelming enough), and then normality was restored.

Sabata didn't know what was going on, and didn't like it... but those darned bats just kept on distracting him! He tried to fire a Spread, but one of the bats hit his other hand... and he slipped down to the ground. "Waaaah!" he screamed, as he crashed down with a loud *THUD*.

Just as he began to get up, however, the illusion grew stronger... and he was now seeing Carmilla, in her Immortal form, attacking him, cursing him for his death...

It was enough - he fell down to his knees, tired. "What... what did you do to me?" he asked, his voice nearly a whisper, apparently ready to give in.

The woods were silent once more, as the bats had all flown off to find shelter. Jack loomed over Sabata, clutching the enormous globe of shadows in his hand.

Jack: "I gave you a sample of my patented Fear Spray. Horrid, isn't it? It plays with your mind, twisting the world around you and eventually plunges you into your deepest nightmares. I don't know what you saw, but it must have something powerful... you're right, you've been through some nasty stuff."

Jack looked at his hand and realized that he was still charging the shadow ball. He briefly wondered why he had even engaged Sabata in the first place, but decided to finish what he started anyway. He swung his arm around and shot the car-sized orb at his opponent, and was blasted back a few feet himself from the recoil. The attack would deal very heavy damage, and at this range could possibly put Sabata into a sleep. It was big, fast, and coming from close up - avoiding it would be a tough thing indeed.

Sabata was about to snarl back, when he saw the shadow ball flying in his direction. He attempted to jump away, but was unable to avoid it completely... and he flew backwards, until he crashed onto a tree.

Struggling to get up, he turned towards the coffin, wincing... and he noticed it finally began to open up, its inhabitant awake at last.

Django stood up, after pushing the coffin lid away, and looked around... although he didn't really need to, it was something he was still used to doing.

To his surprise, Sabata was barely standing, clearly in pain, and apparently facing off against a strange boy. "What- Sabata!" he called, as he began to move towards his brother.

Jack stood awkwardly to the side. He hadn't considered how Django would react if he saw Sabata wounded and fallen against a tree - although he figured it wouldn't take long for the vampire to react with anger. And, moderately worn from the fight, he didn't feel like taking on a healthy foe.

Well, he'd gotten what he wanted. His powers had been doubted - no, insulted, and he proved Sabata wrong in a painful fashion. Jack slowly sidled back, and then turned to a quick tread for the obscure safety of the trees. Hopefully he would get away without notice... though of course, he knew nothing about that magic band Django wore.

"Stop!" Django ordered him, without even attempting to turn around. By now, he was close to Sabata, who had begun to pant. "If you attempt to take one more step forward... you will regret it."

It wasn't a mere threat... the way he spoke it seemed to indicate that he WOULD go through it, and Jack wouldn't like it.

Sabata seemed to have recovered by now, however. "Django... don't worry much about me... just make sure that he doesn't get away from this area..." he explained, wincing slightly from his elbow.

Django nodded, and then began to run towards Jack, beginning to put on the Sol de Vice, while Sabata began to charge his Gun del Hell. 'Now to prepare the Black Hole...'

Jack smiled grimly, actually afraid for the first time in a long time.

Jack: "Oh, come now, your friend isn't doing that bad, right? 'Sides, he's the one who wouldn't revive you if he had the chance. Ah, to Hell with it, here we go again."

Jack's left hand flared suddenly, engulfed in a vigorous fire. He held his arm back warningly, but seeing Django come dashing at him with murderous intent he jumped to the side and launched his fireball at him.

Django grumbled. "What do you mean, revive me? I'm not dead!" he answered, just as he avoided the fireball with ease, while pulling out his Gugnir lance. "And he's my brother, not my friend!"

If Django got close enough, he would try to attack Jack with the lance.

Sabata initiated the preparations fo the Black Hole, by channelling the Gun del Hell energy into a single point. The disadvantage lied in the fact that he couldn't get too far or stop for too long - or the Dark energy would dissipate and his efforts would be useless.

Of course, that meant he had to keep his whole attention on the Black Hole, and couldn't fight back as well.

Jack backed away from Django's unfriendly lance, making sure to keep just out of range while he could. From his position, he could afford to flash a mocking smirk.

Jack: "Hey, he said it himself, he wouldn't take up the offer even if you were dead. But I'm just wondering, why do you pal around with this mortal anyway? Or is he something else? Certainly not a full-fledged vampire, anyway."

Now both of Jack's hands were covered in fire, but he didn't seem keen on using them just yet.

Django snarled now. "He's my brother! And don't treat me like I'm an Immortal! I'm still human!"

Pulling back the lance, he hopped forward, trying to push him closer to where they had come from... so that he wouldn't escape.

Jack made some light steps backward, and found that he was being pushed closer to the center of the meadow and to Sabata. He gave a questioning look at the wounded mortal, and then turned back to Django. Now rather annoyed with his position, he waved his flaming hands around warningly.

Jack: "Well, make up your mind. What are you then? Human or not? You can't exactly be a half-vampire or something... that du'n' work out to easy."

'Either way, he won't like fire,' he thought as he shot both fireballs in separate directions, each hitting the thick base of a dry tree. It didn't take long at all for both to erupt in flame and paint the neighboring trees orange as well. Soon, the entire meadow would be ablaze, and possibly the forest.

"Yes it can," Django began to reply, just as he saw the flaming hands shoot fire towards the two directions. If he wanted to kill them both, he was going to succeed, unless they did something...

Sabata turned towards the two, having finished two fourths of the Black Hole. "Dangit... Django! See if you can't put off these flames!" he instructed his twin, just as he pulled away from his trap, moving towards Jack. "I'll take care of this piece of scum while you're busy!"

Django panted, a bit confused at this development... but he nodded, and concentrated on the power of the Sun inside him, feeling the violet light cover him... as his body became, once again, fully human.

Taking out his Gun del Sol, he quickly switched lenses for the Frost Lens, and ran towards the closest tree, before firing a spread at the fire.

Jack's uneasy gaze shifted between the brothers and the burning woods around him. Despite Django's efforts with the frosty spray, the fire was clearly outpacing him. Jack shot two more fireballs at the other ends of the meadow, setting all of the exits ablaze. He didn't seem to care that he was dooming himself, along with Sabata and Django.

Those two were up to something big, and he hoped that they held their lives in greater regard than finishing that technique.

Jack: "Mighty toasty in here, innit? Reminds of Dis, actually... gah - !"

Jack was struck by a flaming branch that fell by his arm, and he backed away silently into the smoky veil. The hit knocked the wicked smile right off of him, and he retired to moodily watching the chaos unfold around him. They'd all be dead in a couple minutes...

"Dang it! The fire grew too strong now!" Django screamed, just as Sabata nearly shot Jack... but the branch got to him first.

"We need to get out of here... Django, can you fly away?" he asked, as the Solar Boy nodded.

"Yeah, but... wait a second! You can't mean-" he attempted to say, but his brother stopped him.

"Look, do you want to let him get away?" he asked, but the closest branch crackled and burned dangerously. Django sighed, and merely pointed the Gun del Sol at where he had barely seen Jack, followed by Sabata.

The shots sounded emptily against a burning tree. Jack was already lost in the thickening cloud of smoke, preparing to warp out of the scene and leave the brothers alone in the inferno.

Jack: "You know, I forget if there's a moral to this or not. If I even had a reason to try and kill you two..."

Jack's voice sounded from directly behind them. He stood solemnly, hands held behind his back, as smoke enveloped his feet and stretched like clawing tentacles up his body. This was a darker smoke, though, and not created from the fires. Jack would teleport away from the scene one it covered him completely.

Jack: "...Probably just 'Don't piss off the Undead,' especially when they're feeling kind of depressed. Ah well. See you in the next life."

The magic smoke hurriedly coated him. If Sabata or Django were very quick, they could interrupt the spell with an attack. Otherwise, Jack's gone.

OOC: Sorry, had internet problems.
---

Both shots hit Jack, who staggered painfully back from the terrible combination of darkness and light. The jet black smoke cleared from him, leaving the natural smoke fires to cloud him instead. From behind the veil, Jack glared at the brothers venomously.

Jack: "So, I see how it is going to be. We'll fight in this inferno, and only one party is going to leave. I think I like it - it's real exciting, you know?!"

Jack chucked his dagger into the ground, and as soon as the tip penetrated the dry earth, a ring of black smoke appeared around him, taking up most of the meadow's area. While inside the ring, all of Jack's abilities would be radically increased, perhaps giving him a fair chance to take on Sabata and Django.

Jack returned to his typical uneven, crouched battle stance, and then dove into some rather out of place casual talk.

Jack: "So, what are the chances that you would make me a vampire, Django? If it'd work at all - not sure, since I'm already dead."
