I think some of them would benefit from... Less direct palette rips. It general, palettes clash a bit, though due to the source material, not your work, and it's not that bad. Shouldn't take much work to just make a few things a bit softer. The snow level four screenshots from the end has a crappy background too... Was that from SMAS? It looks wrong there. And there are some things which still need their graphics modified to fit the style you're using (like the feather and the amazing flying hammer brother). And, you definitely need a new title screen. Overall, though, it looks good. You're actually using complete sets of SMAS graphics and not just throwing them in randomly, so big plus points there. Additionally, while screenshots can't convey good level design, they can convey bad level design, and they aren't doing that here. It looks about a hundred times better than the standard stuff found over here. So... Good job.

Looks awesome and i cant wait to play it although i must admit i cant wait to see you do ExGraphics from another game again....for example all of SMW2 or perhaps all of Sonic 1,2,3, etc including the levels

Edit:
My first choice for a complete rip of graphics/levels would be Donkey Kong country...although you obviously wont be able to include the enemies

Peter, once again you have shown us a quite beautifully designed hack! The pallettes look fine... they seperate from the usual, which most guys here won't do... Great Job

Nice. I see a lot of stuff from SMB3 and some looks like from SMB2... but I guess that's intended. I really like it and can't wait to play it. I noticed snow....
Can you give me pics of the 8x8 tiles that make up your snow, what type of exanimation it is, and the order of the tiles in the animation? That would really help me b/c I tried to make snow myself (W/ 4 8x8 tiles) but it looked choppy and retarded and I ouldn't get it to run smoothly.) Please help and thanks. Keep up the great hacking!

Hmm...it looks nice, but something about the 9th screenshot is wrong (the blue cave) It must be something with the walls, because they just look funky to me.

Also, by "obvious glitches" would some levels just saying "LEVEL NAME" at the top count?

The border around the title screen looks superb

My favourite shot though HAS to be the second last one. That tileset > every other tileset.

I'm very impressed!

You really know how to use SMAS graphics appropiately in a hack. I hope this hack has levels that are original and fun.

That can easily be fixed with a hex editor. Also, I do have a question:

Are you using a RAT tag to protect the Levelnames code from being overwritten or erased?

I have to say you've done a fabulous job, and I like they way you mixed some of the gfx to create a nice visual effect (whether it was entirely intentional or not).

SNN, some people don't like the border at all. Ah I don't know. _¬ And yes, I meant the level names. The Castle tileset? It's from SMA4.

Davros, those were BMF's instructions, so yes, I have a RATS tag for it.

Thanks for all the comments, everybody. Now, some more info about the game. It's basically set in the Mushroom Kingdom, as it's generally more SMB-style than SMW. It's gonna use all backgrounds from SMAS, SMW, and SMA4, with each BG popping up at least once throughout the whole game. I'll also be using graphics/other ideas from MKSC, and of course Randy Solem's Mario Flash Movies.

Fuck my ass, what else... Oh yeah, it has about 10 widely themed worlds, including Grass, Desert, Snow, Sky, Water, Giant, Choco, Pipe, Forest, Night/Cave, Star, and Special (in that order). Err... that's 12. Anyway, some worlds like Water, and Giant are quite short (cause everybody hates water levels _¬ ), and the Game will be as long as possible (I'm using all ninety-something available levels). I've only got about 2 or 3 worlds done so far, and I won't be releasing any demo, at all.

Well yeah, I'll post further screenshots when I have a lot more done.

Hey pete, I just wanted say the screen shots are lookin as sweet as gold man and I love the way how you somehow managed to put in cape mario and raccon mario in your hack if that may be the case. anyway keep up the good work playa!! and I'm looking forward to the full release of the game.

The only thing that sticks out to me is that the bushes are a few pixals off the ground. Sorry I can't find anything else that someone hasn't already pointed out.

The levels look fairly interesting, nice to the eyes, creative design. Overall, it looks nice.

So, are we looking at SMB or SMW play? (Straight through, or do we choose where to go?)

That tileset was from SMA4? I don't remember seeing it in there, unless it was an e-reader level - I never really played those

Aww, giant world will be short? You should make it long - thats like, the coolest world Good luck using ALL the levels, I don't thibk anyones made a hack yet with all of them.

You lie. It got old very fast. It was better than 6-8, but it sucked compared to 5. And in general they got worse as they went along.
