| Ud blinked, as he noticed where he was. The nothingness around him had transformed into some sort of dimensional arena, with the main differences being its emptiness and its odd sky, which was pretty much like space... only it seemed to be closer than he expected.
"How odd... where did the GMT take me this time?" he wondered, before feeling a strange presence - something powerful was there. He turned towards the presence, cautious. |

| The presence approached, coming out of the shadows...
The figure was some kind of human wearing a dark grey, almost black high-tech armor that seemed to be a mix of Master Chief's and Samus Aran's armor. The dark red visor was opaque and didn't revealed the identity of the being under the helmet... "Welcome stranger. This is the Prison Dimension, the outter limit of this Possibility. I am Admiral Zerodius, ruler of this Possibility... and I have summoned you to this timeline to test out your capabilities and add the data on your battle capabilities to Project "Ex" the human's voice was strange... it was generic-sounding... too generic. Zerodius stood there... "Now... I await your reaction. What will be your first move, stranger? Ask me the meaning of this? Taunt me and run away?... or maybe an attempt at harming me? Now go on... and make your move!" |

| "Well... why do you look and sound like a robot shrimpman?" Ud asked, as he cocked his head to the side, curious. That guy looked really odd, what with that armor. It reminded him of ZC's metalium armor, only his' was a lot cooler looking, what with the bio-metallic sword and what not.
He then grinned. "But eh, can I leave now?" |

"Maybe that's because there is actually no one under that armor... and no, you are not allowed to leave." replied Zerodius. The armored creature paused... an uneasy silence... "Your arrogance is great, it seems. I believe that I will "forget" to integrate this feature into my new prototypes." |

| Ud stared at him for several moments... before laughing. "You're a walking armor? That's cool! How did you get to be one?" he asked, before remembering something.
"Oh, and... if I'm not a-low-wan-ced to leave, then what do I have to do to be able to leave?" he asked, in a childish voice... which would sound odd if he didn't look like a kid. |

| Zerodius crossed his arms. He was not amused.
"I'm not a walking armor. I am a Hunter, a member of the specie which created everything. This body is only an Avatar. As for leaving... you will not leave until I have tested you by pushing your battle capacities to the limit." answered Zerodius. Zerodius rose his right hand and begun to make spinning motions with it... "Can you see my hand? I'm twirling it around. Twirling and making stupid gestures is fun..." his voice had somehow changed... was it mocking? Hard to say since he sounded so robotic... |

| Zerodius would have smiled... or maybe frowned... if he was able to do so.
"You know what? I sure hope for your sake that your battle capabilities are uber... because that seeing as how much of a TOTAL MORON you are, I am obviously wasting my time... and I hate wasting my time." said Zerodius, who had stopped doing his meaningless, useless spinning gesture. |

"But if you want me to fight, then can I at least know how much power should I use? I don't really like obliterating robots when people may not like me doing that. So... should I go full power, or with just one eighth of it?" | |||

You won't be able to "obliterate" this body this easily, my good friend... and even if you could, there is no way you can harm the real me so all I will have to do is make a better body and then, a better one, and I shall continue with this cycle until you beg for mercy... or until I get bored and actually squash you before sending you back home... in a thousands tiny pieces." Zerodius expected his foe to become angry and attack from his comment. | |||

| "Okay... I have no idea what you are talking about... but I suppose it means pain for me, so I guess I'll go all out. Fine?" he asked, but didn't reply; rather, he stood still, closed his eyes, and concentrated.
"Okay... Wisp!" he began, and the Spirit of Light, a small yellow flame with two small eyes, came into existance, emitting a bright light. He stared at Zerodius curious, but seemed to understand what Ud wanted. "Gnome!" The Spirit of Earth, a small man with a green cap and clothes and a brown beard was next, hopping from the ground below them. He was grinning from ear to ear, nearly laughing... but apparently holding himself. "Salamando!" Now it was the Spirit of Fire, a red-skinned man in would-be Arabian clothes, his hair and lower body on fire, who came forth from inside a flame. He had a smirk on his face, one that could have reminded Zerodius of someone very mad. "Luna!" The Spirit of Moon, a woman hidden inside what seemed to be an upside-down tear with wings behind her, floated from the moonlight that covered them. She seemed to be saddened at seeing the group reunited... but sighed, and took a defiant look. "Shade!" Thus the Spirit of Darkness appeared, from the shadow underneath Ud, his body a black void... except for a few spheres, which seemed to form his face. There was no exp "Jinn!" Coming from inside a wind that blew inside the arena, the Spirit of Air came forth, looking similar to Salamando... but where the Spirit of Fire was red and flaming, he was blue and had hair and legs, the former forming a tangle on his head. He seemed well-humored, although a bit nervous. "Undine!" The Spirit of Water, a beautiful blue-skinned mermaid with purple scales, rose from a pool that came from apparently nowhere. She had a confident smirk, meshed with an angry frown. "Dryad!" The last spirit, the Spirit of Wood, rose from the ground, looking very much like her name... only she was more tree than female. She seemed very nervous, but gulped it down, and took a few breaths to calm herself. Ud closed his eyes and rose a hand, holding what seemed to be a necklace with eight colored spheres, each one containing a symbol of the spirits. "By the power of the Mana Goddess... Let us be one! MANA SWORD, COME FORTH!" he called, as the eight spirits surrounded him... before they all began glowing white, and the spirits sent their energies at him. As the spirits empowered him, changes began to become obvious. His hair was growing longer, down to his elbows, and some sort of clothing covered his body. As it dimmed down, his once black hair was now green, and he was wearing what seemed to be a white dress over his clothes. "...very well." His eyes opened, and he lowered his hand... only to grasp a longsword, which he managed to hold with one hand. "It is time, then, for us to initiate combat... I suppose." |

"Hahaha... hahaha... hahaaha..." Zerodius just laughed on and on... "Hahaha..." ... and finally, after a full minute of laughing, he stopped... "... very funny. A Mana Sword... a common "ultimate" weapon in many Dimensions... Well, thank you for the show but I am mostly unimpressed. Mana magic is inferior. It is a very, very weak and unnefficient magical energy that we Hunters have left behind long, long ago..." explained Zerodius in a common tone. Zerodius pointed Ud with his right hand. "But still... you do seem to show promise. I hope you not fall TOO quickly... hehehe..." There was a metallic sound and Zerodius's arm transformed! It was now a strange arm cannon of sorts with a yellow energy core visible within... "Magic... it was actually born from Science. Magic is the art of turning a substitute energy or Anti-Matter into energy and Matter... and we, the Hunters, have found the way to put Magic into mathematical laws. What appears as extraordinary powers to you is nothing but a common process for us. Those spirits around you... we can create thousands of them in seconds and clone them on an infinite scale..." continued Zerodius in his mocking tone. FWOOOSH! Zerodius thrown his cape away as he jumped backward, his heavy armor lfted by the power of his thrusters. Then, he landed quite a bit away from Ud, pointing his Arm Blaster at him. "... but I am done mocking you. It is not my style to usually taunt opponents before a fight... but I wanted to realize that you are not up against a common foe... far from it. Now... prepare yourself!" as he finished his sentence, a sphere of energy appeared in Zerodius's hand. Now, it was just downright wrong and creepy. Absolutely no Mana of any kind was flowing into that metallic body... and yet, an overwhelming magical force unlike anything Ud had ever seen or sensed was forming in his hand, growing bigger and bigger every instant. The energy was coming from absolutely nowhere... as if the foe was actually creating the magical energy... but this is impossible, right? ... in this case, it didn't seemed that impossible... although it shouldn't be. |

| Ud grumbled, but when he began to speak, his voice sounded a bit distorted... and maybe more feminine... "Inferior, you call it? Merely because it requires outside assistance, and not just energy to be used?" His eyes sharpened. "That choice... may be your own, but that is no reason to make little of the choices of others!"
"There is more to Magic than mere use of energy to stimulate the cosmos into its own creations... but it is not something I would expect from you. Not from one who seems to use it merely as a means to an end... without giving it any thanks..." At this moment, he took a defensive stance, waiting as he watched that arm. However, he smirked, as he heard the reasoning behind his taunting. "So... you believed that *I* am the one who is underestimating you? Believe me... that is not what one would expect..." The magical sphere would have surprised Ud in normal conditions for Zerodius... but as he was now, he simply had far too much magical knowledge on both magical and universal realms, mostly due to his friends, and he wasn't even that impressed. "So, let me see what you can do..." he muttered, as his eyes began to grow a light yellow, and the blade shone as well. |

| OFF: Ud just made a critical mistake: assuming he knew more than Zerodius in terms of how Magic works.
... but most importantly, one characteristic that makes Zerodius so nasty is revealed here: the fact that he can disable abilities. Normally, he would use his famed Feedback... but in this case, since your character was extra-cranky, Zerodius will bring out the artillery... which is NOT going to end well for Ud most probably. This means that you shall now be hit with an impossible to counter attack. Have a nice day. Fortunately, it will do no actual damage... but well, you will see. NOTE: As always when I make Zerodius use extra-powerful moves, I will explain why the move is not cheap. You see, Zerodius tend to use some moves that could be counted as "overkill" or even "cheap"... but he always suffer penalties that compensate for those actions (read: he tends to hurt himself and inflict himself with the same status as those he inflict upon his foes). In this case, Zerodius will probably knock out most of your character's means of attacks... but it will be at the cost of the majority of Zerodius's arsenal as well... and most importantly, he suffer damage for it and loses his shield (his primary mean of defense). ____________________________________________________________________ "Arrogance... arrogance..." Zerodius would have rolled his eyes if he had eyes. "Magic is nothing more than a chemical reaction... but well, the ignorant has always given crazy explanations for what he cannot understand." Zerodius pointed the sphere of magic at Ud. "Now... It is time for you to get out of your little fairy tales and to face the cold, harsh reality!" his voice beginning to echo as he yelled the last sentence. NULLIFY! BAM!!!! In a flash of light, Ud's Mana Sword was annihilated totally and completely (or simply unmade, if its destruction would cause a disaster of sorts), the Mana forming it returning to the state of nothingness. All of the spirits within were unmade as well (or just drained of their power, if they can't die). All Mana reserves within Ud were drained completely as well (no magic for you in the next turns). Ud found himself without a single drop of Mana and with all of his magical weapons and armor broken. The attack struck Zerodius as well as Ud... but since Zerodius's sole magical componement was his Magic Core, the damage was mostly null for him ; his Phase Mana was simply drained from the core, which is no big deal since although Phase Mana is his body's main source of power, the electrical secondary circuits kicked in at the same moment to compensate for the loss of his magic abilities. Now, it will take approximately three turns for both characters to regain their magical abilities as the Mana/Phase Mana must be gathered again. "So... still laughing?" asked Zerodius. Magic is powerful... but whoever rely on it too much is lost. Sure, he won't be able to use his powers... but he probably have the advantage now. Zerodius's computer systems ran a full system scan and analysed the integrity of the avatar. "Energy charge reduced by 75%. Has caused major overheat. Visor damaged ; no alternative visions mode available until auto-repair has restored them. Arm Blaster Light, Darkness, and Magnetic add-ons are disabled. Over-Charge Safety Device offline. Shielding systems offline. Life Force reduced from 100% to 80%." stated the computer. Zerodius had inflicted heavy damage to himself through overheating by unleashing a magical force that normally required three turns, not one, to charge... but it was worth it. | Off: Well, sorry for using the rules from HIS dimension to explain the way HE sees it.
Additionally, it'd be impossible to counter against probably 99% of foes... Ud, currently, is in the 1% left. Explanation will come either in the bottom of the post or in the main dialogue... whichever comes up first. ____________________________________________________________________ Just as the energy/magic blast was about to strike Ud, he slashed it in half, the energy focusing only on the sword... before dissipating, as well as the glow did. Ud panted, the sword apparently extremely heavy for him to hold now, to the point where he had to take it with both his hands... but he smirked again. "You... you were pretty smart, trying to nullify my full powers... and I admit that I wasn't ready for that... but..." he panted, before raising his sword towards him, snickering. "Thing is... you just can't undo this little sword... not without a level of power above hers... and it wasn't, so..." He began to walk towards Zerodius, sword in hand, ready to smash the hell out of that robot shrimpman. "You may have stopped me from using all our spells at will... but I still can beat you up!" ____________________________________________________________________ Okay, here's the explanation... While he's assuming a defensive stance (indicated by the previous posts), the Mana Sword can nullify ANY energy blast that can destroy anything smaller than a planet, without major side-effects. While energy drains, additional damage, and other side-effects are still sufferable, the effects are not as strong as if he had been hit full-on. And before you state 'OVERPOWERED!' (which I doubt, but anyway), remember that he is using the power of a goddess, which can give some benefits like that. |

| Zerodius point his Arm Blaster at Ud and it changes shape, the cannon's tip splitting into four, revealing a nice rocket.
"Heh... so your little knife has a little bit more substance to it than it seemed at first... still, I won't allow you to get close enough to use it!" Zerodius said, activating the thrusters into his boots and doing a quick dash backward! As he did so, he attempted to lock his aim on Ud so that his missiles might be homing. Regardless of if he succeeds or not, he fires a small salve of two missiles after his attempt before stopping to prepare for the next turn of events... |

| Moving faster now, Ud grumbled. "You're not getting away like that, shrimpman!" he screamed, as he began to run now. Even if he wasn't as fast as Zerodius, he still was running fast enough... and once the missiles were close, he slashed them in half, bracing himself for any explosions that might come.
If they weren't very strong, he would try to attack Zerodius again. |

| Slashing the missiles was not a good idea.
BAM! BAM! Upon striking the half-mechanical, half-energetic missiles, they detonated into a bright blue explosion. The explosions were relatively large and had enough concussive power to blast through most types of known armor plating. As a bonus, it was probable Ud would be sent flying backward, away from Zerodius, as well. "Your over-confidence is your flaw." stated Zerodius, switching the Arm Blaster's mode. The missile within disappeared, the cannon's splitted parts reunnited and then, the canon seemed to spread, revealing high-tech circuitry overflowing with electricity within. Looks like Zerodius activated the Eletric Wave Disruptor. "Now... stand still..." A sphere of electrical energy began to form up at the Disruptor's tip as Zerodius begun to charge up for the next attack... --- Magic drain effects will end in 2 turns. Zerodius's auto-repair systems will activate in 3 turns. |

| Ud flew backwards, from the explosions... but as he stuck the Mana Sword on the ground, he just skid a few meters back from where he hit the ground. Once he recovered, he returned to his previous march, at first slowly recovering pace, but later speeding up, to the point of hopping as he ran. "Overconfidence? What do you mean?" he asked, grinning dumbly.
If he could, he would try to stab INSIDE the Arm Blaster, which might deal him damage... but as the Mana Sword would likely resist the impact, electricity, and other effects, it would be a valuable, if stupid, effort. |

| Zerodius seen Ud run toward him and if he had eyes, he would roll them.
"You won't beat me just by running foward and swinging your big knife like an idiot." said the possessed armor in a very bored tone. Zerodius waited until Ud was close and then, fired the massive sphere of electricity. Since his aim had locked on Ud and since the sphere was fired from so close, the homing sphere had next to no chances of missing its target. Upon impact, it would not only paralyze Ud for a few seconds while he was shocked but it would also inflict relatively high amounts of damage. Should it works (very likely), Zerodius's thrusters in his boots will activate and he'll dash, making it just behind Ud, and then smacking him in the neck with the side of his hand, a deadly hand-to-hand combat move that is often used by experienced fighters to KO/kill instantly or, at least, make the foe flinch badly. This move, too, would inflict high damage. Should the attack fails, Zerodius will jump backward, firing a shot from the Disruptor, firing three small homing spheres of electricity that would inflict medium damage upon impact but wouldn't paralyse. |
