| Looks like he's just flipping on Monochrome mode -- which effectively gives you a grand total of 4 colors ($00 dark grey, $10 grey, $20 near-white, and $30 white). That's why it looks like it lost a lot of depth -- because it has. Two drastically different colors ($03 and $09 for example) both get turned into the same $00 grey.
Flipping on all 3 color emphasis modes as someone suggested would kind of work with this. It would make all the shades of grey darker.... but it would not add any more depth. You'd still have the same 4 colors, they'd just all be darker. EDIT - And what the fuck, ImInvisible. That huge fucking thing is your sig? Actually the major thing that seems to make the screenshots so blinding would have to be the fact that the black (0,0,0) is instead a neutral grey (116, 116, 116). If it was actually black, it would look... at least a bit sharper, even if it wasn't actually. Except, of course, for the one from Marble Madness. That looks rather bad, no matter which 4 colors are used. At least, to me... |
