| So I downloaded some subbed anime in .mkv format, and though I've downloaded codecs that promise to make things like that work, they don't seem to, having tried DivX, Windows Media Player, Quicktime, and Realplayer to play them. Maybe installing the codec packs doesn't do everything that needs to be done. I can hear the sound and see the subs, but that's it. Help? | |||

Might help. I'm not sure though since I don't use any files with that extension. |

| Yeah, I went to the format's website, didn't really do anything. I think I need to do something with the codecs other than just using the install program, but I don't know what.
edit: not sure how I missed the actual player downloading...if that doesn't work, then I guess it's a problem with the file itself. (edited by Skydude on 05-01-06 12:03 AM) |

| I´d recommend Lazy man's MKV since that´s the one I´m using. It playes the files perfectly.

| i downloaded a mkv file ages ago and there was no way to get it to work
mkv is a crappy format that doesnt work for most people from what ive gathered, so try to find the file in a better format |
