I already read all the tutoriais that I found, but I didn't understand anything. Here is a list than I don't know how to do:
- Insert Custom ExGFX; - Insert Custom Blocks; - Working with layers; - An overworld that works; - Custom Sprites; - Custom Blocks; - Rip ExGFX from others games (Non-Mario series); - Change Mario for Luigi and incapacitate the second player. Basically it is that. |

About the ExGFX (Backgrounds)...
I just started ExGFX (tried the LM M16-7k code but all my pics have 1000's of tiles, so that didn't work.) All my backgrounds suck and I'm not very good at drawing w/ the little squares. Anyways, I suggest you do what I do: 1. Go to a level, go to Level, Super GFX bypass, then see (and remember) what GFX file is used for the background. 2. Extract GFX from rom, go into the GFX folder and copy the file to the 'ExGraphics' folder (create it yourself in the same folder as your rom, name is case-sensitive)and rename it ExGFX (also case-sensitive) then a number from 100-fff 3. Got to file graphics, and insert both GFX and ExGFX. 4. Go back to the Super GFX bypass, and choose the ExGFX file you inserted 5. Go in the 8x8 editor and go to page 0X1, and you'll see background tiles. 6.Edit them by selecting them and drawing w/ the little squares. 7. Use the different colors for shading (to change the pallette, press page up/down) 8. Once you have a picture you want to use, PRESS F9 TO SAVE THE GFX 9.Re-insert the ExGFX and open both the background editor and the 16x16 editor. 10. Go to a page above 12 in both editors (the same page in both editors) 11. Make a 16x16 tile by choosing which 4 8x8 tiles to use for the top-left, top-right, bottom-left, and bottom-right; then paste it into the 16x16 editor 12. When you finish SAVE BOTH THE 8X8 AND 16X16 EDITORS BY PRESSING F9 13. Reinsert the ExGFX and place the tiles you made in the right order to make up the big picture in the background editor. Save the level 14. PRACTICE and have fun! -Rememer to enable custom palettes and then choose your custom colors. I guess the steps are basically the same for the foreground, but I haven't tried it yet. About the ripping backgrounds.... 1. Get ZSNES 2. When you get to the screen where the backgroud you want is, pauce the game, disable ALL layers w/ keys1- about 6 until you only see the background 2. Press F1 (before you do, choose where you want the pic t go by going into options, paths, the change it in screenshots) to create a BMP image, press enter. 3a. Open the files in a tile editor (the BMP and the ExGFX file) and put them in 3b. Use the LM M16-7k code (Tutorial can be found at http://smwcentral.pure-text.com/?p=list&type=documents download the LM codes and easter eggs document and the LM M16-7k tutorial. Hope this helps and if I were you, I would work on one hack at a time, so that you can focus and make it really good. HHH3... são você um tolo? Português é a língua de Brasil.
Brazillian SMW Hacker, you really need to start finding things out on your own. There are many tutorials out there for most of the things you have mentioned, and if you still can't understand the material there's not much more we can do. Go into the rom and start using Lunar Magic, start changing values, and use Google or another search engine to gather all the information you can. There's a reason many people tend not to answer requests: the requesters often haven't done a good enough job looking around themselves before asking for help. |
