| Zekt grumbled as he stared at the area ahead of him. It was nothing but a desert, just like he preferred... but it was completely devoid of good opponents. How was he supposed to test his skills if nothing was around?
Just as he was about to destroy a boulder from sheer frustration, however, his sensors capted a faint sign. "Hm?" he asked nobody, as he tried to locate the direction. It didn't take long, and soon he was heading towards whatever had appeared. Maybe it would be a good challenge. |

"Damn this hot sun!" cried out a male voice of around the age of 21 or 22. "Shut up David!" Four other voices shouted at the whiner. "Hey! You guys don't have to worry much! I'm just human!" "Then use your Command Armor," Forte said. "Incase you forgotten, we just finished with a battle that left my armor in critical damage... not to mention that we can't teleport back to base since my armor's damaged." Zero sighed. "He's right. But this desert is like the sands of Egypt." "... You guys, I think we're being followed," Marino said. Everyone else tensed up, and prepared their weapons; Zero with his Z-Saber, Forte with his Forte Buster, ForteZero with his twin Forte Sabers. Marino gripped some ninja stars in between her fingers. David being defenseless only pulled out his emergancy pistol from his back pocket. |

Zekt smirked, as he noticed the human and Reploids ahead. Normally he wouldn't bother with mere Reploids, but he was itching for some action... and besides, it would be some warm-up, four against one. He didn't go for a sneak attack, as it wouldn't be fair enough... no, he landed a while before and walked ahead, his hands up, to indicate he was not threatening. "My, my, my, what do we have here... four Reploids and a human, travelling in the desert... why does this remind me of a joke?" he laughed, but kept his eyes on them, waiting for their reaction. |

| "Layer? Do you have a lock on them yet?" Alia asked.
"No, sorry ma'am. I can't get a lock on them, or David's Command Armor. Something must have happened that jammed the signals. Until then, I'm afradi they're on their own." Alia has the look of worry on her face. David... please be alright... "Don't worry. I'm pretty sure they'll be alright," the purple haired Navi replied. The blond haired human smiled and nodded. * * * The five Maverick Hunters all glanced at the newcomer. Why for some reason does this guy remind them of their friend Red? "And just who the hell are you?" Forte asked. What a way to greet a could-be dangerous criminal, Forte, David thought to himself, sweatdropping. "Is that any way to greet a guy who appears out of the blue Forte," Zero asked, turning his head to faced the fin-headed Navi/Reploid. "I always say that to people I don't know," was his reply. ForteZero and Marino sweatdropped, and Zero narrowed his eyes at Forte. |

| Zekt merely laughed as he noticed what they were saying. "Oh, man... you guys are a riot a minute, you know?" he told them, while releasing his special probe. Untraceable normally, it would soon be even harder to detect.

| "This guy's mine," Forte declared, before Zero got in his way.
"Wait, I'll take him on. David's in alot of danger to mis-fired attacks since his Command Armor's been damaged. You three go get David somewhere safe, and I'll handle him." Forte only nodded before the three of them escorted David away from the battle site. Now that it's the two of them, Zero pulled out his Z-Saber, and held it in a threatening pose. "I don't know what your intentions are bud, but if it's a battle you want, it's a battle you'll get." With his other hand, he beconed Zekt with two fingers to make the opening move. |

| Zekt nearly screamed an obscenity as he saw three of his opponents run away. However, he was still controlled, and besides, one of them was still there... all he had to do was turn him into scrap metal, and he could go look for the others.
"Heh, then... what's YOUR name, I wonder?" he asked, before dashing ahead... but right before he entered Zero's range, he jumped - and ANOTHER Zekt came rushing at him! |

| "What!?" He widened his eyes when another Zekt came rushing at him. He quickly recovered from the shock just in time to attack with, "Tenshouha!" He punched the ground, and a pillar of light shot down and hit him all the way from space. If the second Zekt didn't move away in time, he'll be damaged just trying to attack Zero while he was bathed in this pillar of light.
"The name's Zero! S Class EXE Maverick Hunter of the 0th Special Unit! I don't know if I can classify you as a renegade Maverick, or just some punk wanting to pick a fight, but fight first, questions later..." Far from the battle near a couple of desert trees on a large sand dune, Forte, Marino, and ForteZero were watching this fight happen, while David took shelter in the shady areas of the trees. "Damn it! I still can't contact HQ!" David swore. "I thought your Command Armor was busted?" ForteZero asked. "It is... I just can't summon up the entire armor, just the communicator arm armor..." David swore again and gave up. He pressed the pentagram on his belt and the armor on his left arm digitize and formatted back into the belt, before he got up and joined the others in watching the battle. "You think Zero has a chance?" Marino asked. "Hey, they don't call him the Crimson Hunter for nothing," Forte said with a smirk, "Whoever this guy is, Zero's gonna beat him." | Already on the other side, hovering a few feet away, Zekt's smirk grew large. "You are THE Zero?! Hehehehe... and I thought I would never get a chance like this before... Well, to answer your question, the name is Zekt. My job... is to face off against every Reploid in existance, and see which one of us is stronger!"
Unlike what Zero expected, the second Zekt hopped through the pillar of light easily, staring at him while holding what seemed to be a beam scythe. He then attempted to slash at Zero. |

| Zero blocked the beam slash aimmed at him, as the pillar of light vanished. "Damn... it should of damaged him..." The saber's color changed to blue, as frost started pour out. He grinned evily.
“Hyouryuushou!” He performed a spinning uppercut slash, possibly taking this Zekt with him and spun around while dealing multiple ice-based slashes to him. When he finished (if the attack has hit or not), he landed on his feet away from his opponent. "Boy, Zero's doing pretty well," ForteZero said to no one in particular, until he noticed something. It looked like some sort of satellite. He shook his head, thinking it was nothing but the desert heat playing tricks on his eyes. Zero smirked as he put away his Z-Saber. "Chuutoryu -- Ten-Sword Style!" Zero crossed his arms in front of his chest and ten sword blades slid out from his fingers. This type of style has a dual-type of Sword and Breaking. Breaking means that it'll be able to damage opponents even if they have put up a stronge defense. Over at the sand dunes. "Wow... since when could Zero do that?" Marino asked. "Since he trained with this guy named GrandMan before the Battle Network Finals begun last year," David answered. "GrandMan... isn't his Operator Ed Takashi?" Forte asked. "Yeah. Ed Takashi is an Official Net-Battler, A-License still." |

| The attack hit home, clearly... but Zero would likely have noticed how not a single part of Zekt's armor had been damaged or even frozen, even if he was apparently stunned. The blades from his other attack also struck Zekt, and he was forced backwards... a couple of inches.
"Hey, Zero!" the other Zekt called, holding his own scythe. "You know, if I were you, I'd keep watchful - never know when somebody might come up at the wrong moment!" |

| So... a realistic hologram... Zero only grinned. "SlashMan Battlechip!" His blades on his fingers grew longer, and became slightly curved, like Muramasa's. He then spun around rapidly until he became a tornado, and spun towards the real Zekt.
"Wait! That's one of SlashMan's abilities!" Forte exclaimed. "Now I remember! Chuutoryu has the ability to use the elements of Sword type Battlechips, plus those from Sword type Navi Battlechips... That's how Zero is able to use SlashMan's Slash Tornado." Up high over the battle, Slur was watching the fight... but she had her eye on Zekt. "Hmm... so, that's Zekt." The female diva of space smirked, before she flew through a cosmic warp, and vanished. |

| Before Zero took off, however, Zekt had already taken out his other scythe, and smirked. "Try to keep up, will you?" he laughed, before he began to spin the scythes... and his arms, in a crescent speed, so that, by the time Zero was about to strike, he blocked the strikes with ease.
Meanwhile, the hologram blinked, before lighting up another blade and sending the scythe, as a boomerang, towards Zero. |

| Seeing as the advance failed, Zero backed away before slowing to a stop. However, he was struck hard in the back by the fake Zekt's Scythe Boomerang (guessing that could be a type of attack name).
Zero growled. "So, like to play rough then? Fine, let's play rough!" He dashed towards the same target once more, ready to slash his scythe to bits with his finger blades, while at the same time aimming to land in a few slashes for soem decent damage. "Should we intervere?" Forte asked. "No... let Zero take care of this... hey wait a minute! Where'd you get that popcorn from!?" David shouted. Forte blinked. "Oh." he was holding a bucket of buttered popcorn, munching on it, "this? Had it just a few seconds ago." The three of them glared at Forte. "Get your own..." |

| As he attempted to strike the scythe, however, Zekt had dropped down, stopping his scythes... but that wasn't just what he did. Rather, he slashed upwards with one of them, planning on stopping him in the air.
If that wasn't enough, the other Zekt was rushing at him as well, both scythes ready to catch him. (P.S.: I'd recommend you get serious, or...) |

Zero saw this paritcular move, and at the last second moved out of the way. He growled, before ripping out the Z-Saber. “Juuhazan!” He smirked and delivered a heavy downward slash that could pierce through Zekt's armor. Of course, whenever that has hit target or not, he dashed away from the other attack coming from the other Zekt. Damn, his moves are somewhat similar to Red's... Hmm, if I can study on this dude's attack patterns I could possibly find a flaw and use it to my advantage. Zero has by now implemented some distance from the two, and he held his saber into a defensive pose, the blades on his fingers vanishing. "Alright... I want to see what you can really do Zekt." |

| On the last second, Zekt managed to parry the move, although it wasn't without a cost; he was pushed back and kneeled, panting. But his smirk had never left his face.
"Oh, you want me to play rough? Fine, tell you what. If you can figure out how to make my good ole' pal here be gone, I'll come at you easily. But before that..." he sheathed his scythes, "...I'm not gonna be attacking you." The same could not be said of the other Zekt, however, who had begun to dash at Zero, as he sent the two scythes flying at him as well. |

“Rekkyoudan!” The former virus’ sword immediately turned orange and he swung it around, and surprisenly, reflected the flying scythe back towards its source. So... that clone of his isn't physicaly linked the Zekt. That explains how I couldn't damage that mechaniloid clone. There here must be something out here that's projecting such a realistic and physical hologram. But, what could it be... “Raikousen!” Zero dashed toward his opponent and hopefully with strike him (the real Zekt) with an electrified Z-Saber. Of course during the dash, he's turned invisible so he can't be tracked easily, not even by looking at the sand for his trace path. Back with the others... "You guys..." Forte only grumbled as his only source of food was shared up equally among the other three. Of course, that didn't help about the large bump on his head, which was bandaged up, "You'd had to be forceful did you Marino?" "Want another smack at the head?" she asked. Forte shut his mouth up. His brother ForteZero, only sweatdropped. "I wonder why Zero didn't notice the probe that reploid sent out earlier?" David muttered. The other three stared at him. "You guys didn't noticed? When he showed up, he had released some sort of probe-like device into the desert air. It's more likely what's projecting that clone of that one reploid fighter." "Hmph, and I bet you could pick out the winning lotto numbers," Forte joked, which recieved a hit to the head by David. |

| Zekt backdashed, as Zero was approaching him; despite being unable to detect him, he did see the original trajectory, and realized what the crimson Reploid was going to do.
The other Zekt dashed towards them, scythes in the ready, apparently going for a lunge with both scythes. |

| Got you now! He immediatly halted off his advance with Raikousen, and swung his saber, unleashing an energy wave, "Sonic Boom!" before jumping high into the air away from the fake Zekt's lunge with the scythes. Two Sonic Booms, one aimed at the fake mechaniloid clone, the other rushing towards the other 'roid.
He then noticed something hovering in the air as he landed back at his spot where he dashed from. It looked like some sort of probe like device, similar to a Satellite virus likely. He didn't know if it was the hot desert sun playing tricks on his optic sensors, or if it was really there, but he couldn't take any chances. "So that's it..." He smirked, and unleashed a Sonic Boom towards the probe he spotted. A mirage maybe is what he attacked? David grinned mentaly. Now you're getting his pattern Zero... beat him and win us some Special Weapon data. "What's Zero aiming at with that third Sonic Boom?" ForteZero asked, currently twirling in his hands a double-bladed beam scythe similar to Red's weapon -- the R Scythe, with both blades currently deactivated. "Hey brother, if you're gonna spin that rod in your hands do it away from us," David told his Navi. The White Shadow only narrows his eyes at David. |
