I've been slow on the hacking community for a while, learning some things about ASM, hex addresses, block creation, flaws in my old hacks, and do's and don'ts in making a hack. I finally set some time for myself to start working on a hack with my new knowlege, but I'm not sure where to start;
For Dr. Mario I might use the story line from Dr. Mario 64 and turn that in a platformer, making Wario a selectable 2nd player. For Mario is Missing I'll use the Luigi's Mansion storyline and turn that 2D, I'll also make the vacumn. For SM 32 I'm just going to make SM 64 into 2D, the toughest challenge yet. I'm also working on SML 1 and 2 with Sgraff87, so that will be out as soon as I finish the levels. I just need some feedback so I can see what direction I should start. Also if anyone wants the tiles to Fludd from my SMS 2 hack, let me know. (unless you already use RLM to open my hack.....) |

I would like to see a Dr. Mario World sequel. I enjoyed the original Dr. Mario world which was one of the first completed hacks that I've played and I also want to play as Wario as well.

I, for my part, am pretty interested by MIM sequel. As for where to start, your best bet is starting by scribbling/doodling down some level layouts and writing notes of all the different stuff you think of adding to the game( if you meant what direction to start with for technical stuff then I'm afraid I can't really help you though).

I think the Mario 32 idea would be interesting...

The Mario 32 idea sounds cool. I would love to see a 2D tick-tock clock.

I for one would like to see Super Mario 32, the bowser battle should be nice. (If you add it...)

Somehow I don't think he'll be able to code the Bowser battle...
Unless I'm seriously underestimating his skill (He'd have to be better than everyone else here for starters). |

If he does the Mario 32, I'd be intrested in seeing how he sections off areas in the main castle. Or will he have an overworld instead? Hmmm...

To be honest, I can't see Mario 32 (shouldn't it be Mario 16 then? )working out at all.
I'd like to see a Mario is Missing sequel. I liked the first one, and it'd interesting to see what you can do since you've gotten better. |

Originally posted by Alastor the Stylish Lets see. If i'm talking about the SNES, then naturally it's rival at the time was Genesis. so when I said "Sega", the first thing you SHOULD have thought was Genesis, which is what I ment, not Sega Saturn, which is what I did not ment. I'm glad we settled that, so lets stay on track here and keep the votes coming. |
