On Sunday I'm staying at a hotel about 2 hours away from my house. It saves time by staying at a hotel and then traveling to my grandma's house (about a few minutes away from the hotel) than traveling two hours to her house on Christmas, not being able to open our gifts in the morning (or worse, opening them and not being able to use them until the mid-day ) and then traveling back...

So... I'm not going anywhere too far.

I'm leaving out of town on Christmas Eve to go see my grandpa until the 26th. After that, my dad wants to go to a library in Abilene for some reason which isn't too far from where my grandpa lives. I'll probably be back either Wednesday or Thursday.

I don't think we'ver ever traveled outside our city for Christmas, and that's assuming we leave the neighborhood. All of our immediate family live in the same area, so we don't really need to travel.

Speaking of which, my birthday party is tomorrow! Why? Because my exams are finally over! Yay!

Grandparents' house on Monday, but that's it. And they're only an hour away.

I'm kind of glad I'm not going anywhere.

Well lets see... we're planning to have our familes for christmas. "We're" as in not just my wife and I, but our friends as well...

Just another typical christmas as usual... except the fact of no freaking snow on the ground.

I was going to go to Disney world for a godawful 10 days straight.

But we forgot to make plans.

I finally get to see my cousin this Christmas. I haven't seen him in a few years, and I got to talk to him the other day. Unfortunately, that call made me NOT want to see him a little bit... He's become what you'd call a "delinquent". You know, the kind of teenager that likes to break things and do otherwise destructive stuff, like throwing rocks at telephone wires TO TRY AND BREAK THE WIRES. You can say that it's normal teenage behavior if you want, but just so you know, I'm 15 (two years older than he is), AND I DON'T ACT LIKE THAT AT ALL. It's just so weird to me. We used to be so much alike a few years ago...

I've never traveled during the holiday season...mainly b/c I had to work. Take this year, sure, I'm off on Christmas, but I have to be at work the next day at 6am. Yep, blows for me.

I have it better than you? As if! I've gone quite a few years without a single flu shot, and while I have yet to get the flu, I know that one of these days, I WILL get the flu. Then I'll be super-sick while everyone else is fine and dandy. Then there's the fact that I want to attend my family's annual Christmas party, but my parents don't. They say that they'll take me there if I want to go, but they won't stay... and I refuse to go if they won't go with me and stay. It wouldn't be a FAMILY get-together without them. Oh well.

Are we trying to out do how bad our Xmas is?

Try waking up at 5am the day after Xmas (so getting toasted is out) and then having no family close to where you are, working 50+ hours a week, dealing with asthma when it gets down in the 50's and, hmmm......thats it really. No biggie, nothing major since I haven't been into Xmas since, well, since I was like 14.

So lets all just shut up and get toasted! No really, we all have our problems, but trying to out do each other is pointless....most of us don't even care.

And FYI, I am just messing around here, so no need to shoot me.

Good. I don't like trying to outdo anyone anyways (and no, I wasn't trying to outdo any of you). I've never met anyone with athsma.

On a related note, has anyone here ever had really bad insomnia on Christmas Eve? About 2 or 3 years ago, I had a REALLY bad case of insomnia. I couldn't get to sleep, and when I DID fall asleep, I'd just wake up about an hour later, still with insomnia. Eventually, my parents had to give me one of my presents early to try and help me get to sleep. To this day, I STILL don't see how that helped. XD In fact, about 2 years ago, on New Year's Eve, I had another case of "insomnia", only this time, some neighbors were firing off fireworks. The loud noise kept me up for HOURS. Ugh... I hate insomnia.

Ah yes... Fireworks.

Our own little piece of Iraq, right in our own backyard. So loud that you can't get to sleep till 5 am. And now that they're legal here in Puerto Rico... Good times.

You live in Puerto Rico? O_o (I thought that was a joke... Now I feel bad. )

Oh yeah, something I forgot to say: Sorry to hear you're sick.

Now, I wouldn't call fireworks our own little piece of Iraq... I call it "our own little DOOMSDAY DEVICE"!

I call it "our own little minor distraction."

Our neighbors call it "our own little hey, maybe we can go one year without anyone noticing that we've got illegal fireworks."

Oh, if only I had a place to put THAT... Then I'd ask if I could quote that and keep it FOREVER. But, this'll have to do. XD I still don't get why fireworks are illegal here in my state (which would be Georgia)...

My Christmas should be nice and quiet this year... family is coming over today to celebrate, I already did Christmas with my dad and brother in Washington, so it will be just another day for the most part. I'm actually more excited for my best friend turning 18 tomorrow.

Ooooh, a Christmas birthday! Unfortunately, most people who have their birthday on the 25th don't get double the presents. Guess it has to do with the whole mixing them together thing
