asdf: I'm the only one who uses this computer and I haven't installed anything/visited any sites that could have done this. I finally got rid of a DLL which attached itself to explorer.exe and winlogon.exe, which might have solved the problem for now. HijackThis even said that DLL files which attach themselves to the logging in process... well they aren't good especially if they were just created yesterday. |

Strange. I've never heard of such a thing before. You may have been victimized by an innocous program with some deadly DLLs. I don't know what else could've caused it. It may be a new breed of spyware and malware...all that I know is you did something (not necessarily knowingly) that caused it to happen. It's not like it's your fault, though. All that matters is that you manage to fix the issue in the end.  I hope it doesn't come back.

Well, it helped that HijackThis has the "delete a file on startup" option, because the DLL was attaching itself to winlogon.exe right away.  Could have been a drive-by but those aren't that common... |

| So today was my last day as a temp working for Webster Bank as a Document Control person. Beginning Tuesday, I'll work for them full-time as a Junior IT Analyst. I'll tell you what this entails in Phantasy Star II no-words-can-have-more-than-four-letters style.
MPTI got HUGE RAZE. MPTI got BNFT PCKG. MPTI got PDTM OFF. Suffice to say I'm excited and extremely nervous too. |

| Heh, yeah, that's paid time off. I guess I could've fully spelled out the words in hindsight. Oh well.
But yeah, that's what it is. Instead of sick days, personal days, and other kinds of days, I get a chunk of time called Paid Time Off that I se for all of those purposes. |

I hate colds. But on the plus side, the sore/mucus-filled throat I developed yesterday is mostly gone, meaning I'm not adverse to speaking. It's just the nose now... and that weird head feeling. |

| Heh, l know exactly what you mean, Colin. I caught a cold about two weeks ago, and STILL have a bit of a runny nose. Luckily, when I get colds, the terribly sore throat only lasts about two days (although the coughing gets less extreme, it is still there for some time) | |||

| My cold is gone now, surprisingly. Usually when I get sick, it hangs around for weeks, maybe even a month if I'm unlucky enough. This one only stuck around for a week, tops.
