This is it! This is the absolute final release of this hack. I'd like to thank the beta testers for taking this for a spin, and leaving explicit detail, to what they saw, & thought needed adjustments. I'd like to give a huge thank you to Kuja Killer, your help and guidence is extremely appreciated! Thank you for showing me how to take advantege of the Code Data Logger, and many, many other things!

Now, there are very minor glitches in this game that I was still unable to defeat. They are...

1. Quickman - After the checkpoint, when you pause, the screen skips ahead by 1 screen. I've attempted to fix this thousands of times, with no success.

2. Airman - There's a problem with the boss door. The first set doesn't open up.

There's already a posted thread of my screenshots, but here's 2 new ones no one has seen. May not be much, but it's neat to me.

Custom Standing Still Shot

MM4 Enemy in MM2

Also, I coded in a new song, that the beta testers haven't even heard yet.

I await your replies on what you all think of the game. This game is on the Easy/Moderate side. I made sure that this game is possible without save states as well.

It looks amazing! Congratulations with your hack, infidelity, from what I've heard and seen, it should be really hot! I haven't played a ROM hack for 6 months, as I've nearly lost interest in gaming at all, but this one will be an exception: I just HAVE to try it!

Lesee...

Heat Man is Vile's theme from MMX3
Bubble Man is Launch Octopus from MMX
Wood Man is SMB's overworld theme.
Flash Man is Blizzard Buffalo from MMX3

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure music from the Megaman cartoon was in there as well.

I remember playing a slightly different one befor but this is one of the best and most thorough NES hacks I have played.
...but the enemies are too fast.
Woodmans leaf shield is too fast and so is ...

But this is really cool and will be in my collection for awhile.
Good job on the graphics, music and other cool stuff you made from scratch!!!!

Let me just say, this is the reason why I've decided to finally register an account here instead of simply lurk around here all day.

I love it so far. A few glitches here and there, but it's been a real blast to play through it. I'm up to the Wily stages right now.

Besides the glitches you mentioned, I've encountered two that I can recall. I'm not sure which checkpoint you're talking about for Quickman, but during the boss checkpoint, pausing skips ahead. Not sure if you meant both checkpoints, though. On Crashman's stage, you can climb an invisible ladder next to the boss door. Not sure if this applies to every boss door.

I enjoy the music too. As far as the song titles go...

Bubbleman - MMX - Launch Octopus
Airman - This one I couldn't get...
Quickman - MM3 - Sparkman
Heatman - MMX3 - Vile
Woodman - SMB
Metalman - MM1 - Gutsman
Flashman - MMX3 - Blizzard Buffalo
Crashman - MMX6 - Infinity Mijion
Boss Theme - MM3 - Final Boss Theme (Not sure on this one.)

And that's all I have so far. Not sure if the stage select/password/etc. are from other MM games. As I said, I'm really enjoying this hack.

This is a great Hack infidelity I love it. Expecially the Wily stages tose had to of been the best.

Just a few minor things that bugged me a little.
1 --- The boss Mugshots.
As you've shown you did a good job replacing the Robot Masters colers for when you face them but they still have the original coler on the stage select screen. (ex: when you fight Airman he's colered gold yet on the Stage Select screen he has his original blue)
Thats the major one the others are very minor.
2 --- The Rush Units.
As said by Dr. Ligh the utilitys (Item 1, 2, and 3) are now Rush Lift, Rush Jet, and Rush Claw. But my question is how come they look exacly the same as the originals. If you're gonna change the name change the looks to.
3 --- Heat Buster.
This just seemed a little wierd but why does the weapon use 1 bar for a normal shot "4" bars for a small charge yet a measly 2 for a full charge just seems a little wierd you'd think it would use 6 or 8 bars of energy.
4 --- Ice Bubble.
Simply put it looks nothing like an ice bubble it fires a large orange bubble...That ain't ice. Maybe if you used the colers for Time Stopper it would look better...Just a thought.
5 --- Weapons.
Just a minor thing but the best Megaman 2 hacks have changed the weapon propertys a bit for most of the weapons. (ex: in Megaman Exile Bubble Lead flew across the screen and in Rockman Exaust they bounced really high up) I was just wondering why you didn't either.
6 --- Order.
Now I beat this on Novice mode so I probably shouldn't complain too much in this section but from what I've seen is that the order to beat the bosses is exactly the same and how that dosn't necisarily make the hack bad it would just be a nice touch if you had to guess what defeats what just like the old days.

Oh yes and as for your little music challenge...You just have me stumped on the Boss Win (the worst part is I could of sworn I've heard that theme somewhere beore) and Wily's stage 1 and 2 (is that even Megaman music?).

Intro 1 --- MM5 Intro
Intro 2 --- Original Megaman Cartoon Intro
Password --- MMI Password
Stage Select --- X4 Stage Select
Selected --- X5 Selected
BubbleMan --- X1 Launch Octopus
Flashman --- X3 Blizzard Buffalo
Airman --- MM4 Cossack's Citadel 2
Crashman --- X6 Infinity Mijinion
Heatman --- X3 Vile Stage
Woodman --- Mario 1 Overworld
Quickman --- MM3 Sparkman
Metalman --- MM1 Gutsman/Fireman
Boss --- MM3 Final Boss
Boss Win --- ???
Got Weapon --- MM6 Got Weapon
Game Over --- X2 Selected
Wily 1&2 --- ???
Wily 3&4 --- Metroid Karid's Hideout
Final Win --- X1 Sigma Intro
Ending 1 --- MMIII Ending
Ending 2 --- Original Megaman Cartoon Intro/MM4 Cossack's Citadel 2

Obsesive?...Me?............Naaaaaaaaaaaah.

Thank you for all your kind comments! It really makes all the hard work pay off!

Megaman-Omega - Let me try to answer your response.

1 - The Boss Mugshots - The boss selection screen is limited to how many colors you can use. Here's and example. As you can tell in the original, Heat, Metal, & Quick, are all red and yellow. But I wanted them to be differnet colors, and visine could not handle the amount of different colors I wanted to use. I know Airman sticks out like a sore thumb, but there was really nothing I could do.

2 - The Rush Units - I did this just for fun, I had no idea this would be a big thing. Your not the only one who commented on this. The Item graphics located in the rom, are extremely small, and reuse some of they're own pieces, to create the other sides of them. Plus, there no where near the size of Rush. Thanks to Kuja Killer, he showed me how to find sprite graphics, and sprite graphic x/y placements. The only problem is the original *size values* cannot be messed wtih, or else nothing would appear correctly. It is possible to accomplish this, but I don't have the knowledge to move, edit, or even find the pointers for this to work. It is possible though.

3 - Heat Buster - I had some ideas for the weapon usage, but I started encountering strange problems, where if I edited how much damage a weapon is supposed to do to a boss, megaman would either not get damaged when a boss touched him, or die instantly. I kinda gave up on the weapon, which is sad to say, cause I spent a long time creating the mm5 style buster shot. This idea had potential, but I had some hurdles that I just couldn't make.

4. - Ice Bubble - *sigh* I know, I know. Once again, I just wanted to give some cool names to the weapons. I just wanted to bring something fresh to the game. I have no knowledge in making it freeze something, and continue to blast the enemy till death. Sounds cool, but I don't know how.

5. - Weapons - I honestly didn't want to recreate something, that has been done already with the weapon actions in other hacks. The only thing I've done was the crash bomb timer. It's prettu much non existent once it latches. Everything else is graphical. I'm pretty happy with the Ultra Beam from Quickman. That's my fav!

6. - Order - Well, believe me, I was trying to edit what weapons did what to other bosses. I wanted to mix it up. But I was encountering very strange response to certain changes I made. It made it extremely difficult to figure out, so I just scratched that idea. I'm not one to walk away from something. I've spent an incredibly long time on this hack, and I wanted to be fair to all the other ideas I wanted to see come to light. I'm still learning.

Also, great job on the music findings! I have an obsessive side as well, and I hate to do this, but the Cossack ones, it's 3&4 that have that song, not 2. *cough*

Wily 1&2 - This is from an NES classic charcters game.

Boss Win - This is from a GB megaman game. But it's not from 4 or 5. *EDIT - Good job Kuja Just read your previous reply on this song. *

I'd like to thank you very much for your replies, and comments. I'm extremely happy this hack is taking off!!

Bane King - Thank you for your comments! Let me say that woodman is defeatable, and you can hurdle over that leaf shield. There's a certain pattern if you can find, you won't be touched at all! Just wanted to bring a fresh boss battle to the ol' woodsy You also showed a screenshot of the MM4 enemy I put in. It's the Sniper Joe Walker. It took me 3 hours to create that image, and to get it viewing properly. So unless you hated the Sniper Joe Walker speed, I see no problem here. Kuja, I owe you big!

SimMarine - Thank you for your comments! And also, Thank You for signing up!! Good find on crashman! I'm taking care of it now, and will re-edit the ips down the road. I forgot to say that the pause issue with Quickman does happen at the 3rd checkpoint as well. Thank you for taking note on that.

I'd also like to thank everyone on their comments on the music. This part was the heart and soul of me doing this hack. Thank you all for your kind comments on the music!

Obsessive, me?? YES! Bring on Megaman Ultra 2! lol.

Nobody told me the bosses were pumped up on steroids... I was rather surprised when Wood Man started bodyslamming me from across the room.

One question: What's up with the Protoman-Joes and the Eddie-Mets in Crash Man's stage? That's creepy. (Don't answer this question if it will spoil the plot.)

Great hack so far...even though I've only beaten three bosses.

Fantastic work infidelity. Everything looked and played..and sounded superb. My one tiny complaint: In Heatman's stage you made a section where Megaman has to jump from ladder to ladder above spikes. Those ladders all go right up to the ceiling, and when you climb them all the way up, Megaman glitches and lets go of the ladder and falls. It was a little frustrating but nothing major. I hope you continue with romhacking as I'm sure they would be of great quality.

It's not 'the weirdest thing', in my opinion. The game sees that Mega Man is on a ladder and allows him to move vertically exclusively. If you go too high, Mega Man will be within the ceiling, and the game wants ot eject him from the ceiling, so it pushes him a bit, knocking him off the ladder. Since you're still holding up, you grab onto the ladder again. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's not really a programming error or anything, but rather something that was never added because it never was supposed to happen; ladders just aren't supposed to go all the way to the ceiling. There are other, more problematic issues regarding ladders that ARE programming errors and can cause people to be able to bypass large amounts of level, but that's a story for another time.

I, too, was a little annoyed seeing ladders stretching to the ceiling in this hack. If you know that something is going to be somewhat glitchy, it shouldn't be used.

I'm currently playing through the hack to see what all has been changed since I tested it. A few of the things I was hoping would be fixed haven't, but overall it's still pretty cool. I've not yet gotten to the Wily fortress, though, to see if you can get stuck anywhere. Let's hope those have been fixed.

Anyway, it's pretty cool, Infidelity. There are some things I'd have done differently had I made the hack, but I like it. Well done.

BTW, Wily 1 is the Great Palace from Zelda 2.

Edit: I am at the guts dozer, and the only thing that works is crash bombs, which do crap damage. Is there any other weapon that will work?
