I was bored while watching Adult Swim, drew this on a scratch sheet. I ended up working really hard on this drawing so I scanned and refined it a bit. PLEASE! Tell me what you think!

Ooo I like the second one but I think it's slightly TOO dark as some of your fabulous detail got eaten

If you can find a way to get a similar effect without losing as much detail, it would be awesome

Ancient, CJ, not Anchient.

Now to not nitpick over spelling.

Like Tarale said, the second one lost a lot of the detail because of the darkness. It still looks pretty good, but that's a pretty big problem.

I gave it another try.

Am I going to get the last reply again?

I like it, but it too loses something. This time it's not detail though.

The pic we said was too dark IS too dark, but it's also more menacing. The new pic retains the detail but isn't as menacing or ominous in appearance.

I wonder if you can find a way to compromise between the two?

Hmm.... not sure, but try doing the dark gradienty thing to the background and *lighter* over the top?

I dunno...

maybe it could help create depth that way too... as if the character is rising out of shadow?

That's kinda what he did with the 2nd pic, isn't it, though?

Personally, the 2nd pic looks alright, but it should be a little less drastic.

Not quite, cause it appears to me the gradienty thing is over the top of it all; and too dark.

I meant more for the background to be dark and the foreground to be lighter. Giving it a distinction between character and background, for one, but still retaining a similar effect
