I know that there are some programs that you can edit the colors of Mario. Is there a way to change the colors of Luigi in Super Mario Bros.?

Here ya go...ROM addresses for Mario's and Luigi's colors. Whip out your favorite hex editor and go to town.

MARIO
5E8 = Overalls / Hat
5E9 = Skin
5EA = Mustache / Shirt

LUIGI
5EC = Overalls / Hat
5ED = Skin
5EE = Mustache / Shirt

MARIO AND LUIGI (FIERY)
5F0 = Overalls / Hat
5F1 = Skin
5F2 = Mustache / Shirt

What's the point of using a program to change something as simple as a palette? NES palettes are one of the easiest things to change...

I for one would like to be able to see the colours as I change them. I guess I'm not to the point yet where I see a colour when I read a number.

I believe that NES Pallette Editor will allow you to do exactly what you just described. It can be found here.

The NES palette editor lacks an entire row of colors, your best bet is still a hex editor, if you use the one built into FCEUXD you can see the changes as you make them.

NESticle can also detect palette as well. That's where the hex came from.
