You said I could though. But I had to heavily adapt them. Oh and update! You can now copy rooms from one to another.

He didn't send us demos, he sent us betas to test, if you don't know the difference you probably shouldn't have one.

Demos, betas no REAL difference. They're both incomplete, and both have bugs. I am SO Incredibly sorry to have offended you.

Demo is for anyone to view, Beta is given to a select few and I have already given as many copies as I wanted to. Sorry.

And let's not forget demos like those made in the demoscene. Those are finished and not buggy at all.

Just for curiosity's sake, have you (interdpth, Jigglysaint) figured out how those bugs work? You know, those little tiny bugs that stick on Samus and damage her if too many get on. You need to use those bugs to consume those big gooey barriers you come across. Its a really cool feature and I was wondering if they work just like any other sprite. Or are they more in the "Event " category. Id love to be able to have some sort of bug spawning room in which Samus has to return to pick up bugs and take them to there barriers to advance.
Another thing, Chozo statues. Playing drewseph's Metroid hack has really got me thinking. Would it be possible to trigger other things when activating a Chozo statue. Instead of just opening the map and showing where the player should head next, could you be able to trigger a wall to crumble or door to open...a door in a different area perhaps. |

Bugs are one sprite, in fact a whole group of them count as one sprite. Each plant is a seperate sprite, and are set to not return once all the bugs are done with them.
As for making chozo statues do more than just reveal things, that is certainly a big possiblity. A chozo statue, item or locator, has an event affixed to it. Those events can be used to change the sprites in a particular room, so you could even make it so you can't get the item untill you find the statue(if you want to make things Fusion style). Also, you can use it to change the doors, thus making landscape changes. Room changes work by any doors you use to enter into the room are modified via an index. Let's say you wanted to make an event where the room before the bombs is a nice simple, flat room. After getting bombs, a landslide occures and you need those bombs to get out. To do that, in the room with the bombs, and the room on the other side of the event room, fix the door event index so both of them change to point to the new room, and have it set upon getting bombs. This works great where only one or 2 entrances are modified. Imagine how many of these things are in Chozodia, especially after the suitless sequence! |

Speaking of that, do you know how to turn it on and off, like you beat a boss armor removed, you get armor, rinse and repeat?

Originally posted by Billiards Koopa No. That would be somthing interesting to look into. It would be kind of cool to apply the suitless sequence to the rest of Zebes. Only problem is that pickups glitch since suitless samus is not equiped to take on extra abilities. |

I'm going to sound like a complete idiot by asking this, but what exactly does that mean? Is it the part that compresses levels, graphics, what?
Perhaps I missed it somewhere else... Jigglysaint: Wouldn't it be possible to just flip the memory address that stores the current suit status to the other mode? Or is there other stuff, also? |

Recompression halfway done? SWEET!
Awesome work, dude, truly phenomenal. Cannot wait for this thing's release... Just to clarify, recompression is the actual act of saving the edited room/level to the rom, right? |

Yessir. =) I just found out why some of the rooms load uncorrectly due to some math. Will be fixed.

I just need to ask... any interesting unused rooms? I know those are probably not too fun to try to find, but they're always interesting to see.

There's a debug room, other than that I didn't see anything unused, could have missed something though.

I really can't wait for this. I don't think I will ever have this fun since Nephi came out. |
