Another thing I'd like to know, how do those disappearing walls work? It's a really cool effect, are they events, part of the clip data, or something else?

AMAZING new built Interdpth!

This editor is making progress at the speed of light!

my current recommendations:

Speed up the Scroll Bars, Maybe make them scroll 1 full screen for every click, like in smile. when you click on the bar, but a click on the arrows makes the screen move over by 1 tile.

Remove the annoying messages that pop up every time a room auto loads...

Add some sort of screen divider like smile, even if scroll data works differently.

Keep up the amazing work!!

I agree, this editor is looking really good. I am liking the progress.

You could scroll one screen at a time, or you could have it move as you scroll.

But seriously, keep up the kickass work. Can't wait to start a hack with this!

Interdpth just sent me a new beta, there's been a major improvement, see for yourself:

Garbled tiles are no more! It's great, it displays just about every area perfect now! A few strange palettes and tiles here and there, but other than that it looks identical to how it would in-game.

I really can't wait until map recompression is implemented, then the fun will really start.

Holy shit! That looks amazing (and quite easy to use *throws heavy rock at SMILE*...)

Gods, I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this.

(can't wait for map editing)

I dunno if you got my earlier message, it was at the bottom of a page:
will this editor support bg/fg graphic insertion? (a.k.a. ExGFX, say, Maridia tiles and backgrounds from Super Metroid)

If so, that'd be awesome, if not, I can work around it.

What do you mean disappearing walls? Do you mean like when you shoot a wall and it doesn't come back, or the kraid ridley walls or maybe those unknown item blocks?

How the game works, is that walls that disappear and don't return are part of the clip data. Upgrade tanks too, are level data, and don't come back. I think most types of blocks have 3 settings, regular, don't come bac, and respawn. Some may have only 1 or 2 of those. I have found the block data so I could change the peoperties of those blocks. Perhaps instead of screw attack blocks, you could make speed boost blocks that don't return, or maybe some other kinds of things.

No, he's talking about the walls where they look like walls but act like air, and when you jump into them they become transparent and then invisible and you can see Samus and her surroundings behind them.

Look up a few posts, I think he's talking about the header editor.

Anyway, I like this update, faster scrollbars and no more crashes. Interdpth, you're really making progress, keep up the good work!

Here are a couple shots from the latest version interdpth has sent me.

As you can see, most everything is looking 100% correct. Also, in the last shot, you cans ee what appears to be Metroid:Fusion tiles...cool indeed.
