Granted, there's no presidency at stake, but control of both houses of congress means about as much, and both sides think it's going to be a brutal year. But let's hope it's not as bad as some previous ones...like the election that spawned things like:

The old people do not know how to vote. Oy, it was fun when I had to vote and my place was at a 50+ community.

It's funnier as a far side strip, without the political drama =/

Well, there's a election in Sweden too, though it's not the same type of election.

Got to agree with Alastor though about the Far side one. It can honestly be adapted to any politcal party. I mean, hell let me edit it.

Edit: Or I won't, as most of Sweden being left-winged I probably would do a joke against the right-winged which means I would just offend alot of people here.

Well, I heard the number of people voting in US is pretty low, especially compared to other countries.

Then I see you're not in the legal age, so i'm not blaming you.

Ha, America is the only country who loves freedom enough to have elections.

Well, the thing about adapting the strip for other parties is that it's not really just a strip attacking a political party. The text in there is direct from several news articles on the election. I guess that's what I find funny...it's another take on the same information.

I was discussing the voting thing with a friend of mine lately, and came up with a solution that would be, in fact, a terrible solution, but might get the desired result. Take away (or restrict somehow) voting rights. Then after the thousands of protests that would erupt, even among people who wouldn't have voted, you let them vote again. And I think the turnout would be higher than usual. When people can't vote for long periods of time (or perhaps have never been able to), when they finally get a say in government, they want to take it. Look at the huge turnout in elections in Iraq and Afganistan.

It isn't, though. It's just a blatant attack, and nothing more. It horribly spins the facts.

Whenever there's an election, I just write "the other guy" on my ballot. Then when the winner screws up royally, I can say "Don't blame me, I voted for the other guy!".
