Well thank you very much. Here are some pics from Toadstool Courtyard. This room ended up being very puzzlely. Not exactly a brain buster, basically hit this switch then hit thatta switch, but wasn't M&L SuperSaga like that. Actually my puzzles don't compare, but still.

This is the when Wario joins your party. Isn't that Wario just a riot..haha, he cracks me up.

Too high for Mario to reach, but light enough for Wario to ground pound the floor and make the blocks fall. Yeah, that's tight. My RPG features a physics engine. Does yours?

An overly helpful Mushroom Person throws a block to help Mario get across the water, Instead hits Mario in the face. My game features physical comedy..does yours?

Gotto push the red one to use it as a bridge to jump on to the island to jump on the yellow one to push the green one to use it as a bridge to jump onto the island with the switch so Wario can ground pound it to activate...

Man this room took long to complete. Yes, the goomba looks not polished. Yes the switch looks too polished.

The hack is defenietly nice. What I haven't is what is the story. What is the story plot?

I also like the idea of Wario being in it.

Erm... I have a headache, my apologies. I know it's not a hack, it's made with RPG Maker, probably XP.

Yeah, I keep forgetting to post the plot. Here it is.

Some unknown force(shall be revealed later) has managed to corrupt the Magical Stars that protect the Mushroom Kingdom. Think of them as the stars from Super Mario RPG:Legend of the 7 Stars for the Super NES. Since the stars are now corrupt(Evil), instead of granting nice people's wishes, they are granting wicked people's wishes. So for example: now the Goomba King can wish for more power and more bad guys. This is not the entire story, when you play my demo, more story will be revealed.

Yeah, Wario joins you because his gems have been stolen and follows the culprit to Toadstool Castle. Yoshi will then join you too. Watcher gave me a very good Idea of letting Mario ride on Yoshi. I think I will just let that happen in certain instances, like mini game/quest mission thingies. Not all the time. Then I think I will have Toad join you at the end of the game. For end game goodies.

This ain't no hack. Homebrew RPG Maker XP all they way. With ripped gfx. Original music.

Really? Well there is this one guy whom I would like to see depart this earth...

If I were doing a beta test, you would definitely be on the short list along with Watcher, the_man and Dragonsbretheren (If he ever posted here) lol

Unfortunately I am not doing a beta test....instead I'm doing a Demo Release!!! hahaa!..

I'm gonna say August 25. It will be a download on rapidshare(Unless someone recommends a different site.)

But yeah, It could very much be confused with a beta test hehe because its not 100% bug free..its not real buggy..maybe not buggy at all, its just that not ALL situations have been accounted for. For example, I have only recently found out that if you die during certain boss fights, certain triggers will fire/not fire, preventing you from advancing.

You know why? Cause I'm too nice. hehe See, originally I was going to make it so if you died, it would not be game over, instead you would just be teleported to the entrance of whatever map you were in and loose some gold/exp. But that creates the trigger problems. Where as if I just use the standard "Game Over" event, that ends your game and I don't have to worry about the triggers.

Also, if you save in between certain "Cutscenes" then die and/or leave the map, some triggers will not work and you will be stuck.

Basically, if you want to be safe, just follow the story line and do what is obviously next. But I also encourage you, after you are done with the demo, to play dangerously. hehe Try to get stuck, or try to bypass triggers/cutscenes, then tell me how you did it. You know..beta test. lol Fine, call it a beta test..sheesh.

Y'know, it'd be interesting to see a situation of deaths like in Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy. You'd die, and would be returned to the last point in which you saved, but would have half of your money taken, or to lose all items and money you've received from the last point you saved, but retain experience/levels. Respawning on the same map would just seem... Not that horrible. You could be more careless, and dying wouldn't be much of a tragedy. I'd say go with the Final Fantasy death path.

Other than that (and a few grammatical errors), this game looks great! I really look forward to playing it! Just one question... How long do you think the playtime in this game will be?

Eventually, I may have some sort of death system. Lose this or that, return to here or there. But for now at least, standard game over. You die, you return to title screen and can load your file where you last saved it..simple.

Yes, please point out spelling mistakes when the demo is released. Any parts that don't make sense too.

As for playtime. I am making an effort to keep things short an sweet. I fear that if I let myself loose and make a grand opus of a game, I will never get it done. Its sad how many projects I have half started, so I am really really making sure this game doesnt get too outlandish. I just want to get this project finished and out the door. The regular main story will probably take no more than 3 hours if you don't die often. If you go for 100% completion (a notebook on Mario's Desk will list any and all collectables) then maybe 4-5 hours. I plan to have lots of end game stuff to do.

If not rapidshare, then what? I used rapidshare for my previous demo, no one complained, well not until the download stopped working. But no one had any issue with the dl process. (I am assuming)

That's just it. Crapidshare is highly unstable. After trying maybe 20 times to get the file, if it's even still accessible and the site is even up, you still might get a corrupted download. It's a huge pain. Also, the downloads are inaccessible by blind people, just to add insult to injury.

Well, I'll definitely take a shot at a demo when you release it. That's only about 3 more days, which is great . How long do you think the demo will take to beat on average? Or no clue?

Well what I meant was that while it was up, I had no problem dling it and no one ever said they had problems dling it. It stopped working when no one downloaded it after a while..I think that's why. Anyways, have a problem with File Factory?

Not sure what you mean about the blind people comment, but fine rapidshre its out of the question..

S.N.N, since the finished product will be short, you can bet your ass the demo will be freakin bite size. I made the game, like Nintendo would. Easy, simple to understand, almost hold your hand, fun and wont upset your stomach. This forum's seasoned gamers should tear this demo up in no time.

I encourage people to like at least read the narrative and shit to get some fun out of of it though. I find most people just skip all text, grind on easy enemies and then just check gaming forums when they find themselves in a "IMPOSIBBLE TO PASS PART!!!"

Play, read, think. Seriously.

.sorry, my rants tend to come out of nowhere and spill into multiple posts unrelated to each other.

Here just look at the pretty colors..

You have to enter text displayed in an image. There's no alternate method for people who can't see it.

All of these free file upload places look about the same. Loads of ads, tiny speed and bandwidth caps, limits on how often and how long a file can be downloaded, and a very lengthy process that doesn't work half the time just to get to the file. Whatever happened to uploading files to some free website host and making a quick hacky page for them? Or maybe using the attatchment feature?

[EDIT] Oh yeah, and they make you wait 48759 seconds to get the download link for no reason other than another opportunity to bombard you with ads. Easy enough to bypass with Proxomitron but still hella annoying, especially having to write such a filter for every site.
