OoC: You should enjoy this.

Doe knew his/her target was nearby. All he/she had to do was get to a good sniping location, it would be the same as any other assassination. Yinns was the target, a moogle that was exceptionally good with trinkets and gadgets. A waste of time and skill for Doe he/she was sure. Doe found the perfect place, a hill about a mile away from where Yinns was currently at. It would be hard for Yinns just to find Doe, let alone survive until Yinns knew what was going on.

Doe set up his/her sniper rifle, letting it get to full length and he/she looked through it. Only one thing to do, wait.

OOC: Yes, I should. God bless you, man. Hold nothing back!

"Okayokay... Let me get this straight, kupo. I stored an electric wrench and a jetpack in this bank 3 days ago, but it was in the wrong storage type because YOU swindlers didn't give me the right paperwork... And now I can't take them out of storage for 3 months, is that what you're telling me?"

"I'm terribly sorry, sir, but there are regulations and policies and more regulations to follow, and we're doing everything in our power to make it convenient for you b--"

"No, you're NOT, kupo. I'm on my way back home to spend time with my family, which is hard given my occupation, and because of your previous screwup combined with false rules, now I--"

"False rules? Sir, you don't know anything about our-- Sir, what are you doing?"

The light bluish-purple coated Moogle Gadgeteer has made his way to the fireplace at the bank, and is using some tongs he produced out of seemingly nowhere to remove a coal. He walks back over to the counter, coal handy.

"Sir, what do you plan to--"

No expression on his face whatsoever, Yinns holds his small hand towards the banker, interrupting him. He then takes some more tools out from his belt, and begins tinkering with the hot coal, cutting and polishing it and even pouring chemicals on the coal on occasion-- within 4 minutes, Yinns holds a magnificent green diamond in his hand. The banker is astounded.

"B-b-but sir, th-that was impossible to do..."

"It's yours, if I get what I want, kupo." Yinns smirks at the banker. There's a long pause, and the banker goes in the back to get Yinns's stuff...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"Meps!"

Yinns makes his way down the road, carrying some useless materials in his hand and on his back, venting to nobody.

"Since they keep their stored materials in a chamber underwater, the humidity destroyed my temporary jetpack! NOW I have to carry it to the OTHER side of town, back to my quarters, in order to fix it! How infuriating! Kupo!!"

Yinns notices the dirt road cutting through the wildlife park in the middle of the town runs along the side of a nice, grassy hill. On the other hand, he falsely expects NOBODY to be possibly watching him, let alone be trying to carry out an assassination on this Moogle...

Doe smiled as he/she saw Yinns in his scope, just one more step and the moogle would be toast. Yinns took the step and Doe fired. The gun was silent as the bullet exploded from the shaft of the gun, the silencer worked perfecty. Absolutely flawless, just like every other time. Doe turned away from the scope, it had never been his/her desire to see his/her actual work, just to know that he/she did it.

Doe started to pick up the gun and put it back, he/she was possibly over confident...

PANG!

Something hits Yinns dead-on at an unbelievable velocity and drops to the ground. Yinns clutches his right ribcage, startled and unnerved, as he bends down to examine what it was that hit him...

"Kupo...!? It's a bullet! ...Good thing my Silicon Vest is bulletproof, but that HURT."

Yinns is too afraid to make any sudden movements at this point. Slowly he removes a strange, ornate, miniature treasure chest from a highly hidden compartment in his coat under his vest...

"Initiate Pandora: M27- Red Ingot," he whispers to the box.

After a 3 second delay, the box opens a crack, and intense, scarlet rays of light pour out of the opening. If Doe sees this, that character would know for sure that his/her job is far from finished... After a few seconds of the light rays, everything turns a shade of red as an area within a 75-foot radius of Yinns is coated in a sheet of eerie, shade-changing red light. Now Doe DEFINITELY would notice.

Finally, on the back of the box, three colored numbers light up on the black lines, cycling from all possible two-digit numbers at a very fast rate... These numbers will soon determine the fate of both Yinns AND Doe, and the situation could go either way.

OOC: Reminder: I never cheat on my RNG rolls. One roll for each of the 3 Random Numbers is all I allow myself for per Pandora, unless I choose to use the once-a-battle Tech Data Hack. Profile for more info.

OoC: I'm known to be a lucky bastard...

Doe pulled out a long barrel and the main piece of the gun. He/she hooked them up and stood looking towards the light. He/she didn't want to have to keep fighting, she/he just wanted this to be over so she/he could leave. Doe looked through the scope and saw what was going on. Doe loaded a test bullet and fire it above Zinns, just to see what would happen.

OOC: Well, here's my first Pandora... Sheesh, I already manage to roll a 1. Fun.

Magna: 5
Aura: 1 ---Critical---
Halflife: 8

The numbers finally stop cycling, and thanks to the power of the Pandora they are instantly displayed in Yinns's mind. Another full second later, it strikes.

The red light suddenly flashes white like a strobelight three times in succession, and there is a sound like a space vaccum as both Yinns and Doe are instantly delivered a below-average Non-Elemental damage attack from literally out of nowhere at the same instant. Avoiding the damage by ANY physical means, be it dodging or armor, is completely impossible. The only way to dodge a Pandora is a perfectly timed, highly advanced special/magic ability. That makes it pretty useful, but since there's always the chance of missing the intended target or hurting oneself with any Pandora, these Techs are extremely unreliable in a jam.

It was used, though, for it's potential to hit. Since Aura hit 1, no matter how far away from Yinns Doe is, he/she is targeted by this move... but on a 1, it's the same way for Yinns. Magna hitting 5 means the attack is rather weak, and Halflife has no effect whatsoever with particularly Red Ingot unless it's 10.

Yinns recoils from his own attack, wincing.

"Okay, come on out, kupo!"

The bullet streaks right over his head, startling him. He nearly falls over.

"Are you trying to kill me, kupo!? Come on! Show yourself! Don't make me roll another Pandora, ya hear me?"

Hopefully this tactic won't get himself shot again.

Doe didn't know what happen, but he/she realized that he/she had been shoved to the ground. Doe rolled over and aimed another shot at Yinns, this time aiming at the shoulder, now interested in what happened. Was it a clone or an image? Was the real Yinns invisible? How could Doe suddenly have been hit like that. If this shot didn't do what it was supposed to, Doe might have to try close combat.

Yinns hoped wrong. PANG! The bullet lands a hit on Yinns's right shoulder, and he feels the sting a little harder without the full protection of his vest. His coat, though, is partially sewn with diamond-fibers mixed in with the normal material, providing decent, though rather low compared to chain mail, armor against physical attacks.

"That's IT. I saw you up there! I'm comin' up to end this, kupo! Initiate Moogle Barrier."

With the command, a computer program in the Vest whirs to life, as a blue dome of energy with the appearance of a wavy pool materializes from the tip of the dome down, surrounding Yinns. It continues to surround Yinns as he quickly makes his way up the hill, where he was sure he saw Doe hiding and firing...

"Better do this quickly before I gotta shut 'er off," Yinns thinks.

Bad move.

Doe exchanged the end of the sniper rifle and turned the gun into a shotgun. She/he layed down on the ground and blended in, when Yinns got close enough, he/she jumped out and shot the shotgun, sending the spray of bullets at Yinns, his protection bettter be damn good if he wants any chance of surviving this, or he better be fast. Regardless, being hit by a shotgun and walking away is a great acomplishment.

Doe ripped off the end of the shot gun and put another end on, turning the gun into a rifle. He/she moved backwards and waited to see what Yinns would do.

Voomvoomvoom!

Ripples form in the energy barrier as the bullets impact it, not breaching it. Yinns is safe, and now it's time for revenge. Though, Yinns will soon find out that the attack did more than he thought...

"Kupo!! Gotcha now!"

Yinns holds his fists slightly out and lowered, as amber-colored, steel Knuckles slide out of the sleeves and fit perfectly over his fists. He wastes no time as he thrusts his right fist outward, and the Knuckles on that fist shoot off, streaming a tail of bright flame as the rocket-powered punch attempts to slam right into Doe's chest. The attack should cause above-average Physical damage if it hits, and return right to Yinns's fist thanks to an AI system no matter the results. More interestingly is the hole that opened up in the barrier for about 1 second as the Knuckles shot forward and returned to him.

Right after the attack, Yinns hears a triple beep come from the vest.

"Crap!" he thinks, "That gun attack plus my Rocket Knuckles... I should've known an overheat was possible..." The vest hasn't overheated yet, but unless Yinns plays his cards juuuuust right on his next move, Yinns may actually sustain damage from his own equipment.

Doe wasn't fast enough to dodge the attack and took the knuckles to the chest. He was thrown off the ground and it looked like his/her chest was caving in. Doe was practically doubled over in the air, but with pure determination, Doe looked back up and cocked the shotgun and fired again. The shot was poorly aimed, but then again how well do you have to aim a shotgun? The blast that the shotgun shot pushed Doe back far enough to let the knuckles slide past Doe, leaving him/her on the ground with the gun pointed at Yinns again.

Doe fired and rolled backwards, getting to his/her feet, Doe put a hand over his/her chest and started breathing heavily.

The barrier once again protects Yinns, and this time not even all the bullets hit it, but even so it was one bullet too many. This time the Vest makes 6 really loud beeps as the shield automatically shuts off and overheats (counts as a status condition). Now Yinns has no access to Techs for one turn (plus this one) and half his normal Attack Power for three.

But Yinns doesn't need Techs to fight... He arms two Spider Bombs and throws them down to his left and right. They dig into the ground immediately, waiting. Yinns approaches his foe, now seemingly at bay.

"So... You tried to take my life from me, kupo. Are you a hired assassin? Don't make another move, or my ground-tracking Spider Bombs kick in. C'mon, explain this! Who hired you?"

Even at his full height, Yinns is only at the very most, half as high as Doe. But anyone could tell he means business-- especially when it comes to attempts on his life, or worse, his family's.

Doe didn't answer, but rolled back and leaped into the air. While in the air, he/she attached a back to the shotgun and entered a special shell into it with a number two on it. Doe aimed the shotgun down and fired. A spray of lightning bolts hit the ground and if the spider bombs were near it, they would be destroyed. Doe quickly changed the gun into a rifle and hit the ground, rolling backwards, but standing up at the end and pointing it at Yinns. Amazingly, Doe's sunglasses stayed on what could only be assumed as his/her eyes.

Doe loaded a red bullet into the back with a number one on it.

"Agh, fine... FINE."

Without Techs, Yinns doesn't have a very good chance to defend himself against the thunderbolt barrage. He stands up tall, hands at his sides, as some kind of camera eye of some kind opens up in the center of his vest. In reality, it's actually a special lens. The bolts strike home, and Yinns takes quite a sum of damage in total, but at the same time the bolts that strike his vest are absorbed (though still damaging), which is, considering that the Vest has overheated, a safer way to gather energy for Yinns's attack.

The Spider Bombs are safe-- they have burrowed deep underground already, and the bolts couldn't touch them.

After Doe's attack, Yinns's Vest reacts to the thunderbolts as the lens starts glowing brighter and brighter. It charges for 10 seconds (in overheat, it's the equivelent of 6 seconds), with the added power from the electricity-- but before he attacks, the two spider bombs burrow through the ground, up at an angle, surface at Doe's feet at the same time and explode in a pair of firey energy geysers. The damage will be above-average if they both connect, more if it weren't for the vest overheat status.

Right after they go off, Yinns's lens fires a good-sized energy beam right at Doe that lasts for 3 seconds. The attack power of this is also above-average.

"Hurry up and finish repairing! Blasted technology limits..."

Next turn, Yinns will have his Techs back.

Doe still remained voiceless as he/she fired the rifle. A blast of fire erupted just as the spider mines exploded, both hitting directly. Doe was thrown back and the energy beam missed him/her. Doe loaded the gun with a blue shell, feeling that things might get worse if he/she couldn't counter this.

Yinns regains usage of his Techs at half the attack power.

"Interesting. He seems to have a low level of sturdiness, kupo-- Almost anything I attack with sends him flying."

Yinns has the perfect idea.

"Initiate Miles Flick. Target variable 'Duel1'."

At this command, a green lens slides from under his cap over his right eye. The lens seems to be like a computer screen if one looked closely... In truth, it appears almost like a Scan Visor for Yinns, with all kinds of numbers and data and whatnot visible only to him. Also visible to Yinns is a red crosshair controlled by an AI. In 4 seconds it locks on to Doe's feet, beeps once, and the attack takes place...

Right under Doe's feet, a hole opens. Doe can't fall in it, but instantly as it opens a huge, white glove reminiscent of Mickey Mouse's hands pops out, and flicks Doe hard with the middle finger. The attack does below-average damage in Yinns's overheat state, but it still has the effect of knocking the target severely airborne. The glove pops back into the hole and the hole closes as if it were never there after it makes it's attack.

Yinns is a sitting duck if this attack missed.

Doe tried to move, but wasn't successful and was launched into the air. While Doe was flying through the air, he/she turned the rifle back towards Yinns and fire. A huge torrent of water exploded out of the rifle, aimed straight at Yinns.

Doe landed onto the earth with a shattering crunch from his/her bones. Doe was sprawled out, slowly getting up, injured noticably.

"Water!?"

The one problem with Miles Flick (and other crosshair-using moves) is that Yinns is incapable of dodging most attacks during and slightly after the attack. Yinns stands firm, knowing that with his passive ability Steadfast, the most the water would do is damage him, but not knock him down. He takes the blast fully, wincing a little and soaking wet. The water cooled his Vest a little and helped overcome the Overheat status a little.

Yinns notices that he, too, has already taken considerable damage from the first bullet, his own Pandora, the thunder and then the water combined... but that Crunch was a little scary to hear. After all, Yinns is no killer. This is just self-defense.

He approaches Doe.
"Kupo... We can stop this anytime you'd like. I don't want to hurt anybody. You were hired by someone else, after all, so you should have no reason to die as someone's pawn."

He still stays on guard, though. Next turn his Overheat status will be fixed and Attack Power will normalize.

Doe knew what was broken already before she/he even got up. It was a bone in his/her leg, impossible to walk normally now, but Doe knew how to deal with this easily, death was still far from coming. Doe suddenly flipped over, leaving his/her rifle, landed on one hand and while spinning took out a handgun. Doe fired the hand gun at Yinns, six shots in rapid succession.

"Waaah!"

Doe's acrobatics surprise Yinns, but not the gun-- this guy's a gun MANIAC. Yinns plans to dodge by staying ahead of the bullets' flight paths-- he begins by rolling to his left, dodging the first two shots. He then leaps into the air and Air Dashes further to his left... His "Air Dash" is an aerial maneuver where in midair he takes off in a perfectly horizontal line for several feet and drops to the ground. With this, he is able to dodge two more shots... but when he lands on the ground, he can't move right away, and the last two shots strike excellently. One gets him in the Vest again and one nicks the left side of his head, scratching him. He is not knocked down thanks to the Steadfast ability, but it certainly hurts.

"Kupo! I need... a good roll... C'MON!"

He suddenly has that ornate box whipped out again. Time to get serious!

"Initiate Pandora: A-75 Shaded Spring."

Once again there is a huge energy buildup present, as the box starts emitting red, purple, yellow and white light rays in all directions... The three Integers start cycling again on the black stripe on the back of the box...

All Yinns has to do is dodge Doe's next attack, then hope for a 1, a 7 and a 1. He can't take much more punishment, though, so Doe better not bring out any more fancy gun techniques!
