What, may I ask, does "loted" mean?

And it's always better to spend time with family or friends than post. Of course, now that I'm on the west coast, I can be here for the 'end of the day festivities' that often occur between 10 and 12 EST, and then go out to a party afterwards.

Yeah. It's sad that some people want nothing but to sit here all day. I go to school for half the day, so I get my socializing in... and I go to work at night. It's not healthy to sit here all day every day. Thankfully, most of us are in school.

Oh yes, that rather odd conversation thread. I didn't actually catch "lote" the first time through, somehow.

It wasn't an issue of skimming, really. It was one of those things where the mind kind of automatically corrects an error while you're reading so you read smoothly. And I wasn't looking for errors. I had thought when I read it the first time that it just said "love" and he was getting his point across by saying "I love you so much, now die" since that alone makes enough sense in the context.

No it doesn't. It's so ridiculous. How is it a mix of love and hate if it's just love?

Because you're saying "I love you" the love part, and then "now die" which is generally something said by someone who hates someone else...and besides, I never said anything about a mix, just that one could become the other...and in that sense, my original interpretation makes more sense than what was actually there.

Ever heard of love-hate relationships? Or maybe it could be interpreted as "I love to hate you" or something.

NOTICE OF LAWSUIT AND REQUEST FOR
WAIVER OF SERVICE OF SUMMONS

TO: Kyouji of Acmlm's Board

A lawsuit has been commenced against you (or the entity on whose behalf you are addressed.)

A copy of the complaint is attached to this notice. It has been filed in the United States District Court for the Stanford District and has been assigned docket number 385938482

This is not a formal summons or notification from the court, but rather my request that you sign and return the enclosed waiver of service in order to save the cost of serving you with a judicial summons and an additional copy of the complaint. The cost of service will be avoided if I receive a signed copy of the waiver within 5 days after the date designated below as the date on which this Notice and Request is sent. I enclose a stamped and addressed envelope (or other means of cost-free return) for your use. An extra copy of the waiver is also attached for your records.

If you comply with this request and return the signed waiver, it will be filed with the court and no summons will be served on you. The action will then proceed as if you had been served on the date the waiver is filed, except that you will not be obligated to answer the complaint before 60 days from the date designated below as the date on which this notice is sent (or before 90 days from that date if your address is not in any judicial district of the United States.)

If you do not return the signed waiver within the time indicated, I will take appropriate steps to effect formal service in a manner authorized by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and will then, to the extent authorized by those Rules, ask the court to require you (or the party on whose behalf you are addressed) to pay the full costs of such service. In that connection, please read the statement concerning the duty of parties to waive the service of the summons, which is set forth at the foot of the waiver form.

I affirm that this request is being sent to you on behalf of the plaintiff, this 8th day of April, 2006.

Either way, it's been more than 5 days, and you'll be expected to bear the cost of serving the summons to you. You had your chance to avoid it.
