K, I'd rather not make a triple post.....BUT, I do believe I have beat both Karadur and Scat on Binary. The ironic thing is that I got more misses and less combo, but better accuracy all around:

You can compare theirs:

Karadur

Brilliant/Marvelous - 773
Excellent/Perfect - 249
Cool/Great - 50
Okay/Good - 8
Weak/Boo - 4
Lame/Miss - 7
Nice/Okay - 114
Max Combo - 685
Score - 188,328,821

Scatt-Man

Brilliant/Marvelous - 697
Excellent/Perfect - 323
Cool/Great - 57
Okay/Good - 6
Weak/Boo - 1
Lame/Miss - 7
Nice/Okay - 115
Max Combo - 726
Score - 186,332,548

With mine...:

829 Marvelous
197 Perfect
47 Great
5 Good
0 Boo
13 Miss
115 OK
0 NG
Max Combo 434
Toasty(total) 0
Score 189,947,894

So I JUST squeaked by.

*Cries*
I've attempted Binary quite a few more times, but I've since been playing much worse than usual.
I had some problems with my sound card software, and had to download the full thing all over again. Crappy thing is -- is that it doesn't even have 5.1 sound as an option, unlike the previous software. Everything just doesn't sound as good, and it's quite annoying.

Anyway! Good job!

I've been trying to download Stardust, but it seems to cut out about halfway through, and everytime I try to continue the download through DAP (downloading program), it doesn't even want to start up!
I'll try again now though.

P.S: Scatt-Man is the name I go by on other forums and MSN.
Bee bop-bop bottop bop...I'm the Scatt-Man!

I looked through the entire options menu twice last night, and I found no mention of Event Mode, so for now, I've come to the conclusion that it's been removed from the CVS build for some odd reason I'm going to download the last released version of 3.9 today, which will hopefully fix the problems I've been having.

Anyways, I'll get the screenshots out of the way right now, but I'll say one thing first. Try to ignore the titlebar in each of the screenshots. Pressing "Print Screen" in the CVS build (at least for me) causes the program to completely lock up, without saving a screenshot It's very frustrating, as you can probably tell. Just keep that in mind when you look at them

:: A Thousand Miles (Speedo Mix); Heavy, C400
:: Blazing; Heavy, C400
:: Caldera; Challenge, C400
:: Can't Begin Without You; Heavy, C400
:: Craze For You; Challenge, C400
:: Disable Da Stack; Challenge, C400
:: Holy Forest; Heavy, C400
:: Logical Dash; Heavy, C400
:: Luvly, Merry-Go-Round; Heavy, C400
:: Objection!; Challenge, C400
:: Oi Punk (Gman Style); Heavy, C400
:: Sad Salsa; Heavy, C400
:: Starmine (Pop'n Mixxx); Heavy, C400

I also don't know why "Overhead" appears in each of those pictures, as I never changed the option. The only thing I went into the options menu for was to change turn C400 on

All those simfiles were done by the same person, being Gitaroo Man. I was looking for the soundtrack (after reading that it was a must-have in the thread regarding the game), found simfiles under that author name on Bemanistyle, saw that they looked difficult, and downloaded them. I didn't find the soundtrack there, but I did find another site where I can get it (and a whole load of other game soundtracks I've been trying to find for a while now), so it worked out in the end

Anyways, I'll leave it at that for now, but I have a feeling there's something I'm forgetting, so I doubt this'll be my last post in this thread today.

Naw, he's actually a pretty decent simartist. He's one of those that strives for 'difficult 11s' mostly.

As for the CVS build, I wouldn't know. If it's not in the extra opts (if it exists) then it probably doesn't exist at all. Why they would take event mode out is beyond me.

Scatt: Try using FlashGet/use only 1 stream at a time and make sure that your data timeout is high. BMS has a bad way of dealing with 56K connects and isn't too friendly with most DL accelerators.

To begin, no, I haven't been ignoring the discussion regarding Binary scores. I gave the song another try (well, a couple more tries) last night, and have managed to pass both you and Scatterheart / Scatt-Man. I'll let the screenshot speak for itself though. It can be seen here. Still nowhere close to getting a full combo, but not bad either. I've finally figured out a way through the several parts of the song with orange arrows (I can't remember what note they appear on), which helped quite a bit.

Now, I've got a whopping 22 screenshots today, so I'll get those done and over with. All except two of the simfiles were made by DJ Obvious (I downloaded all of his before I left yesterday). Some of them are fairly easy (9's and 10's), but I didn't realize they were rated that when I played them, as I was still using the default theme Anyways, here they are. One other note actually, I'm not going to specify "C400" in the links anymore. I think it's safe to assume that's the default speed I use, so from now on, I'll just specify different speeds

:: Binary; Challenge
:: Daikenkai (Angry Chipmunk Remix); Challenge
:: detimilnU XxaM; Heavy
:: Mario's Winter Wonderland; Heavy
:: MAX 300 (Wacko Reflex Remix); Heavy
:: MAX Again; Heavy
:: MAX Slow; Heavy
:: MaxX Extreme Slow; Heavy
:: MaxX Revolution; Heavy
:: Megaman Techno Remix; Challenge
:: ObvioMaxXxas the Legend; Heavy
:: PARANOiA Extreme Survivor Max (Fast Version); Heavy
:: Rainbow Road; Challenge
:: Rust; Heavy
:: Sonic 3 Tight Finale; Heavy
:: Stardust (Raw Mix); Challenge
:: Super Mario World (Piano Version); Challenge
:: The Legend of MAX (Evil Trance Mix); Challenge
:: The Legend of Nintendo; Heavy
:: The Legend of Sandstorm; Heavy
:: The Legend of Zelda Dance Mix; Challenge
:: xaM fo negeL ehT; Challenge

Way too many variations of Max songs if you ask me, but at the same time, I'm glad I downloaded all of them. The Wacko Reflex Mix is... awesome. Also, as you can probably tell, I did reinstall StepMania 3.9. I still had to look through the options menu a couple times, before I found where to turn Event Mode on, so it's very possible that it is in the CVS build, but I just missed it.

For now though, I've said all that I can think of, so I'll leave it at that.

Kar, on Stardust, you did DD's pad-intended Oni...not my keyboard/ITG-intended Heavy.

And yea...there's a large link of that on the frontpage of BMS as well, Phil.

I've only made it halfway myself.

People have B'd Standard without mods but I don't think I have a single case of anyone passing Heavy yet. I really don't think it's possible without slowing it down.

I think Hiryuu just got served. Also, something I'm proud of, considering it's my first 11 footer passed on Keyboard...

And the highest combo I've ever gotten in Stepmania:

EDIT: And another thing: I know full well this is not an impressive feat, but I like making marks on the progress I make in fields that are important to me. Let me have my fun, before you start showing off AAAs, TJ.
