I still can't believe people play that. That was a rep-tarnisher on my part so I've construed it as nothing more of a joke file.

I've seen a thread on that sim in particular where someone was like ZOMG I AAAA'D A 12!!!111. Oh, the humanity.

I had what may be the weirdest DDR experience of my life last night.

Now, I was sick with a cold, and my PA is nothing to write home about to begin with. But yesterday in particular, it was awful--awful enough that I FC'ed a song (I don't remember which one, some Extreme [PS2] 6-footer) with a B. I had something like 96 Perfects and 87 Greats. On one song which I ended up failing, I had MORE Greats than Perfects. It was bizarre.

Would being sick throw off my timing that little bit that it would give me that many more Greats?

Uh, duh?

Dude, I got drunk and tried SMing Legend of SAKURA trying desperately to AA. Horrid A each time. I whined about it over IM to everyone I could.

By the by, I have a funny now that I think about it. DD and I were SMOing HVAM Heavy and he ended with a D - 19 mill while I got a AAA. He intentionally went for a stream of Goods. That had to be hell trying. The score's probably up on SMO's site still.

EDIT: http://www.kraftbrands.com/activegame/games/game1.aspx

You "whined" about it over IM, yes. More like rambled.

...Kraft's gone nuts and the pad/game are likely crap.

It's a pity the site doesn't mention what songs are in the game, or if it's like StepMania, where you can "install" whatever songs you like (which I highly doubt is the case). Also, what's with the "Internet Explorer 5.0 or Higher" requirement? Even if we had a connection to the internet at home, I wouldn't want to install a game of that sort, where an internet connection is required to (presumably) download the songs Then again, it could just be one of the installation files that simply contains the necessary instructions to download the actual files needed to install the program Whatever the case, that is pretty funny. I can't see a whole lot of people wanting to play it so badly that they'd order the pad, but you never know

Anyways, I downloaded the StepMania 4.0 CVS yesterday, and installed it last night. After moving the Songs and Themes folders to the new directory, I uninstalled 3.9. I think that was a bad idea. Neither of the themes installed work (Techno Fiend 3: Eternity and A.O.I.), trying to get into the "Profiles" option gives me a slew of errors, then loads the menu, but the only thing that's accessible is the "Exit" option. Oh well. I guess that's part of having an unofficial version

I can imagine, but for one thing, I had no idea anything of that sort had happened, and also, I hadn't touched that song since I was barely able to pass Standard with an A. Therefore, I can use the excuse that I didn't know about any of that, and that'll probably have been the last time I'll touch the song, as getting an AAA is about the best I can do right now, with a bit of difficulty.

It's snowing quite a bit outside right now, and a bit of talk is going around about the office closing for the day because of it (yes, there's that much), so for the time being, I'll end this here.

Well, the whole Oni is a jumpfest without end. Similarly, DN's 250BPM is an 8th note run without end (666 combo) but is considered better than that and is a 9.

I think it said 6 songs... so yeah. :\ Odds are they're all public domain or quick things too. I doubt there's any hardcore techno or anything.

I see something about progressing through six levels on the site, so that likely means that to beat the game you need to pass those six songs in succession, but then it goes on to say that in quick play mode, you can choose any song, thereby making me (at least) think that there are more than six songs in the whole game

Also, something didn't catch my eye on that page yesterday. It says that in quick play mode, you can choose a song and either difficulty. There are only two in the whole game? If that's true, I can see them as being along the lines of "Easy" and "Hard"

Now, along the lines of StepMania, I have a question. What option do I change so that I can choose one song to play, and see the result of that one song once I clear it, as opposed to having to play through 3, and get an average? I obviously found it before, but I can't a second time

There's also one other annoyance I ran into with the latest CVS build, that I'd like to see if other people using it have experienced as well. So far, it's only happened to me in one song, that being the newest one I've worked on making the steps for. I select it in the song list, press enter, then get a black screen. It stays that way for 10-20 seconds, then displays the "Get ready" type message, and immediately after that, says "Cleared", and goes back to the song selection menu

I've yet to try accessing it through the "Edit Songs" menu, but I can't yet see why that wouldn't work. It does make things awfully frustrating though, as from time to time, it's nice to play from the beginning to the end of whatever's been done so far, without doing so from inside the step editing screen.

Has that happened to anyone else, with one particular song?

Fufufufufufufufu...

Yeah, I redid that stepfile. It's probably a lot better synced now. Much less crappy but still MS-Paint'ed banner!!!zorz!

So, tell me what you think. Is this file worse? Better? Am I just crazy?

And Kraft, making a dancing game? ROFL.

Event Mode.

This needs to be turned on in the options. You won't get EXTRA STAGE or a way to put in high score, but it'll let you do it without having to reload a whole bunch of times.

I haven't looked through the CVS build yet. Haven't had the time to DL it on this POS 56K.

EDIT: Koneko: MUCH better. MUCH.

For Stepmania, I want to contribute one of my favorite works that I did a while ago.
Fun Mods. Read the readme. This is mainly a nice little add-on to the mods. It seperates all the mods to be chosen individually (i.e. Boost and Wave).
It also has percents (i.e. 200% Expand, 300% Boost, and/or 1500% Dizzy).
It also has speed mods x1.25, x1.5, x1.75, etc. all the way x10!
Plus, CMods from 50 to 1000 going by 50's.
I added 50% stealth which I call white. Also, 75% stealth (transparent).
One more thing, I put in 50% Flip. It's pretty much puts all the arrows in one colomn like in DDR Extreme USA Misiion Mode.
Try this: Converge, Stealth, 200% Brake. It's pretty much a new mod! I call it Bounce.
Check it out and enjoy!
Does Acmlm still have a commons so I can upload this file there?

I kicked ass on 2000 BPM... *Cough*

Binary is my newest favorite song!
Freakin' awesome!
Is it possible to AA that one? I'm getting closer to it, but doubt I'd ever get all the way.
A'ing it no problem though, is that any good? But a very fun song to play none-the-less.

Well, I'm awesome.
Tonight, I passed PARANOiA Survivor MAX oni with a Perfect Combo!!!
124 Greats, still an A.
I had my usual perfect combo going until the four streams-o-death!
I got through the first stream like I sometimes do, had a 500 combo.
I had the energy, so I felt like pushing myself a little more. I perfect comboed the second stream which I never did before!
Now it was all or nothing, I was really trying on the third stream.
This was pretty hard in transition, and sadly, I was getting a huge GREAT attack.
At the fourth stream, I was just praying not to slip, this was the miracle of DDR firsthand. Then came the slow section, and my shock of seeing that I made it, I felt so much pressure trying to get to the end without fudging it. Hearing the legendary "600 Combos" that only this song and MAXX UNLIMITED offer only added heat to finishing it. And hurrah, I finished with the legendary 655 COMBO!!
Now I will move on to the AA and eventually, beat it on Legend Road (yet the Legend of MAX is a strong roadblock I have not yet gotten through to reach PSMO).
Anyways, I truly have landmarked myslef today as "OMFG! You need a life!"

On Oni, right?

Karadur did it (there's a shot earlier in thread). The 32nd placements make it harder than hell to FC/AA. I'm thinking I'm glad I simmed that the way I did now.

Got a little confused for a second there.
Oni is the same as Challenge in Stepmania, huh?

Just tried it again in C400 for the first time.
It made it quite abit easier.
I'm uber-proud of myself. I'm so close!

Karadur's
Mine

The only impossible part I found with this one, is towards the end, a couple of the very rapid left, right steps have a double at the end. I can never get all of 'em when there's that bastard double there.

So am I any good? *Begs to know*

That's not too bad. The goal of it is accuracy, though, so passing it shouldn't be too hard.

Aww man!! I AA'd it, forgot to take a screen, tried it again, and was on a roll, but made a couple of stupid mistakes before the end.
AA'd it still, but I was about to be the best at something.
Beat his Max Combo though.
