Nope, it's been too long since I've played. I know for a fact that's happened though.

EDIT: By the by, I have some ideas for DOD 6 when I finally get the time in a few months:

Erasermotorphantom (IIDX RED CS) - 10 or 11/Heavy.
Hangarmageddon (DOOM - E1M1 OC Remix) - 12/Heavy. *BOSS*
Battle with MetaKnight (Kirby SS) - 11/Heavy, 13/Oni
Rama Gardens 2.0 "Omniphilia" 11/Heavy (Long)

I'll see what I can do about getting those done sometime before October or November ends.

I didn't try Respect. I almost passed HDV though, it's surprisingly not hard except at the end. Just passing it gets you the One More Extra Stage, which is Chaos... which is more Evil than Faxx Maxx.

Uhm Toxic, Doesn't Really Matter and Chikaru are all really good. AA is good, but not as hard as A Oni. I got rapped by AA on doubles though. Dragonblade is a bit off sync but good. Matsuri Japan J-Summer Mix is a lot harder than it seems on a pad (the 9 footer version). It's way harder to get an AA now. I only AA'd maybe 1/3rd of the stuff I did, where as in Extreme I AA'd things left and right all the time. Know Tomorrow from Ex2 PS2? It's WAY off sync, atleast by half a beat by the end of the song. It's horrible.

I just have to make a statement.

I find it highly amusing that the "elite" community (By which I mean "those good enough to get OMES") as a whole has grown so dependent on high speed mods that Konami decided REGULATION PLAY (outside of Sudden Death) was acceptable for the OMES.

Oh, and for one of the betas, the timing windows were apparently tightened to a ridiculous degree (As someone said, getting a Perfect was about the equivilant of getting a Marvelous on Extreme, and getting a Marvelous on SN was nigh impossible). Then they were loosened again. Also, the AA criteria apparently changed slightly as well.

Might head down to an arcade this weekend depending on whether they have ITG2 or not.

That's all, carry on.

Funny enough, these elite group is also the same group of ITG1 and 2 players used to using high speed mods who, in turn, used to bash those who used speed mods in DDR initially.

Anyways, you have to realize about OMES is Chaos. Chaos is a song where some steps are SO close together, that when you step on one, you'll see another one right under it during the pause. That is why it's not 1.5 or any other speed mod for OMES, then Chaos becomes meaningless as a challenging song.

Owch, Grey, owch.

I think it's possible to modify what kind of mod you can use in gameplay for an ITG2 machine, provided that you have a USB stick and are willing to mess with the 'last played' configuration. The thing uses xSpeeds and C-mods but only the ones they have preset. I'm not sure if you can change that.

If that's the case, I'd probably use something like C350 or so on pad. I usually try to keep the speed between 270-360 for the overall speed.

I sometimes use speed mods. Mainly for songs that I find rather difficult at normal speed and want to practice on a higher speed.

While StepMania gives me the option of doing so, I only use the C400 speed for keyboard files. If I were playing on pad, I try it out on regular speed first, then I do x2.0 speed if I can't do so. Never do I use C400 on a pad.

This is also coming from someone who has never played ITG before in his life as well, so...

I like playing the songs at the original speed without mods. Its more fun for me. Some songs I do use mods once in a while, but thats to just play around. Usually its with the shuffle mods.

Yet, this isn't coming from an arcade player. Its from a home player. Apparently my local area thinks PIU is the best dancing game ever. And the fact that there is only one arcade...

Still, I prefer no mods. If I have to use mods, there is a good reason why.

I'm usually using C500 or C512 (SMO) when I'm using StepMania.

I would bet you that I still can't pass Get Down with MAX w/o mods.

Ahhh more DDRSN stuff. DoLL is an excellent songs with excellent steps with horrible sync. Brilliant R*E*D is a rough one, but fun. Drivin' I failed. Xepher KICKS MAJOR ASS. Oddly enough, I noticed that a few 2nd mix songs have made a come back (I'm For Real, Peace Out, Slake's stuff). Dynamite Rave Super Euro Version is surprisingly very very good.

Oh, they brought that from Ultramix 3? Heh. I can do it then.

Did anyone manage to watch Master of Champions on ABC tonight? They had a competitor for the individual talent which is when a talent that goes against a completley different one. The second person did trapeze, but lost because the first person was doing DDR Extreme while juggling fire.

He did pretty well too. He tried to beat his record of a 250 combo and missed it by 1. Can't Stop Falling In Love (Speed Mix) with an A while juggling fire with a x2 mod. That was cool to watch. The fire was in his face constantly and the mat wasn't placed directly in front of the machine. Instead, it was off by about 75 degrees so the audience could see the steps while watching him dance as well. It was quite impressive, but it would have been cooler with a harder song... I guess.

But still, something I can't do.

EDIT: I've improved a bit.

HVAM, B
Tsugaru, A
Holy Thunderforce, keyboard A

I improved on HVAM a little. Tsugaru I did really well, close to a AA. I like the galloping in the steps. And Holy Thunderforce... umm... first A on it.

Bemanistyle's OSC5 KB division has been released. I skimmed through it... definitely a KB elitist's file. There's nothing there that I've seen that's better than Hiryuu's Satan's Castle.

You mean Satan's Theme (actually, the name of it is FINAL DE PUYO PUYO). Satan's Castle (Witch's Tower...go figure, I'm finding these out months down the road) is a bit half-assed, really.

If I finally do Battle Against MetaKnight, that will likely throw Satan's Theme under it, though. If I do the FULL version of Hell Scapper TKKN Mix, it will likely be on par or higher as well.

I also have another one I'm thinking of that I haven't really done yet...it'll be a bit of a job, though.

Still, this is some time off. :\

EDIT: DD or Grey or someone that has my stuff...send cpubasic some of my stuff. I think he'd enjoy them and I have no current way of getting them to him. You might wanna tell him about your sims double-dee.

Ooh, speed mod discussion.

On DDR "proper", there's almost no logic to my speed mod choices. I'll do So Deep on X2, then The Shining Polaris on X1, then Tsugaru on X2, and so on.

On ITG, I try to get into about the 300-330BPM range reading-wise. This usually involves X2 or X2.5.

I usually always do any song with a speed mod to get in my range unless I'm looking for a challenge (not in a 20X6 manner, either).

Additionally, I play better on 1.5x for something like PARANOIA survivor than 1x mostly due to the spacing. That's something like 405BPM reading which isn't really easy to view. I've done SAKURA that way as well and actually passed it my first time like that (450BPM) since I couldn't do 1x. Mentally, I think I pressure myself to have greater accuracy the faster the arrows go because I'm used to slow songs being really easy.

And then I go so far as to make a simfile like Chaos Angel Act 2...

My End of the World simfile has Act 2 beat in slowness. 39 BPM vs 63 BPM. Although Chaos Angel Act 2 is much, much, much harder, doing x2 for End of the World only brings it up to 78, which is still slow. Then again, I wasn't making the file for speed mods, either. With mods, it becomes less fun...

I tried to get as many sims from you when 6.0 was up but I only managed to get a few. If someone does want to send me some of Hiryuu's files, I have the following already.

One Winged Angel (Kingdom Hearts Arrangement)
Angel's Pledge
Apoplexy
Chaos Angel Act 1
Chaos Angel Act 2
Chaos Angel Act 3
Death Wind
DISC ERROR
Heavy Mario
Shock of Love
Rhythm and Police (Robo-Z+Slash K.O.G.G3 Fusion Mix)
Riviera Battle Theme
Techno Base Act 1
Techno Base Act 2
Silph Co. Office Building
The IMPOSSIBLE Song
The IMPOSSIBLE Song II
The IMPOSSIBLE Song III
Transanity

Of course, seeing as how Hiryuu has over 100 sims done it will take me a while to recieve them all. Next week, though, it will be best to get them, as I'll be housesitting for my brother's wife's mother and I'll have satellite, which, despite not being reliable, is a lot better than dial-up.

And speaking of simfiles, I am almost done with the second battle theme from Super Bomberman 5. I just have to tweak it a bit so that some of the notes are better positioned. And I also managed to get some other songs synced. I'm trying to get them done by next week so I could upload them. I tell you, syncing Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand was a pain.

Ah yea...he's definitely missing some of my better files. I can't believe that 6.0 never gave a backup archive for their database. They said they had one at one time but it ended up flopping or something.

The whole thing, including unfinished files, is about 420MB. That's quite a mouthful of downloading on a 56K (especially, on crappy bandwidth ones). You'd have to see if you could get a few of the more played ones from them.

Heck, I think my top played one, between my sister and I, in SM on my 1GHz comp was Decisive Battle from FFX. That thing had one heck of a selling. I don't see any of my high DL ones on your list; I think you only have the most recent ones minus a few of my 3RD or so.

He lacks stuff like PARANOiA =iNSANiTY= (all 3 of them), Healing Vision (Full Hate Mix), all the other MAX and PARANOiAs I've done...and of course the nice 12-footers with Satan's Theme being the most honored thus far (Hell Scaper TKKN Mix being the other and MAYBE Eyes of Flame from Cave Story). Anyone who can get those out to you (double-dee) could tell you.

If I can find a way to FTP those files onto some sort of a server, I would, but I'm currently limited for that right now.

Heh. Those files that I had were from when I didn't have the official songfiles on my computer and I was getting anything video game related that I have played or wanted to try out. That was... umm, the first month I had StepMania. I just wanted some simfiles of things I've heard of to get me started. I wasn't sure what was great or anything...

The best way to send them would be via email. cpubasic13 at gmail. One or two simfiles a day (if possible) will do the trick until Thursday, where satellite access will allow me to get more done at once. I'll have that access for four days or five if I'm there early, so if I could get in contact with someone then, it would be great to get some of the better files at least.

And... I C'd MAX 300. First time completing it. Its easier once you get the steps, but its a pain on my legs. They were aching afterwards. Then again, after doing HVAM and a bunch of other songs beforehand, I could understand.
