First of all, I'd have to say this is pretty good for being your first simfile. One thing you'll always want to make sure you do before uploading a simfile to Bemanistyle is to delete the ".old" files in the simfile directory. They serve no purpose whatsoever, other than to occupy at least 4kb of your hard drive's space

Anyways, I played through both difficulties, and in Standard, the blue arrow and the red arrow before bars 12 and 40 respectively seem to be just a little bit offsync. The same thing can be said of Heavy, so here's what I would do if I were you.

Open the song in the editor, and press F4, to turn the assist tick on. Then, play through the song, and listen carefully for any arrow ticks that seem offbeat. Once you hear one, press escape, move back up to the arrow that was offbeat, and fiddle around with it's placement until you find something that's more on the beat. Don't be afraid to slow the song down either. You can do so by pressing escape, selecting "Song Options", and changing the "Rate" value to something lower than the default. I usually like to decrement it by .2, just because setting it to 0.5x will make it a lot slower than you may think it would After that, play through the song again, listening for offbeat ticks, and figure out the proper placement for those arrows.

Then again, it could just be my computer being slow, so give it a play through in the editor first, with the assist tick on, and listen closely at bars 11 and 39 to see if they're offbeat for you as well

As for the graphics, I can't see anything to comment on in them. Very nice work there Once again, good job for this being your first simfile.

Oh, and Kiraxo +, I'm pretty sure you want to find and download "DDR OSC Psychopath Edition". It's can be found here on Bemanistyle's forum. It should go without saying, but you have to be registered and logged in first. The simfile you're looking for can be found in that pack If that doesn't work, I can upload it to YouSendIt or whatever works best for you.

I thought so, but somehow I deleted them and it didn't work afterwords and thought they were necessary... I must have deleted an actual file...

Thanks for the comment. I'll do so and if for some reason I need to tweak those steps I'll do it. I forgot about the Assist Tick when I finished the song... I will have to upload it again at school though if I do change it, as it took 30 minutes just to upload that...

Destati? KH? I might just have to grab that, review it, and let you know next week. I'm kinda short on net time as it is anymore.

That said, got some new ones for you guys:

TRIP MACHINE survivor Megamix
Heavy Mario

Go nuts. TMSMM has a hellish Oni.

By the by, I found an ITG2 machine a half-mile from my house. Grabbed 5 machine records off of it too...except I think I busted the right arrow sensor on it or it was already busted.

As I said before, Hardcore of the North HURTS.

ALSO...it seems that BMS is FINALLY starting the move over to the big 7.0. Not sure if that means the database is going to get a wipe or not, so those of you that don't want to chance that...GET THE SIMS FROM THERE NOW.

Now I know what I'm doing tomorrow at school: downloading as many sims as possible just in case.

Heavy Mario confused me a few times during the song, though. Actually, just the beat changes. I accomplished it with a B since I wasn't expecting the beat changes when they occured, but it was a fun song both to listen to and play. I'll play it a bit more and master it. Definitly better than the Mario theme I found earlier.

EDIT: Cleared Heavy Mario with a AA. I have accepted that I'll only be able to do AA's as I somehow always screw up my beats partway through the song.

Latest Proud Achievement of Mine:

Not as great as what others would get, but I am proud of it.

Nice work I gave Heavy Mario a couple tries, and the best I can manage to get right now is three Greats away from an AAA Anyways, I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves, as usual:

:: Emerald Sword; Heavy
:: Heavy Mario; Heavy
:: Sensual Data; Challenge
:: The Struggle to Survive; Challenge
:: Trip Machine Survivor Megamix; Challenge

I'm quite proud of Emerald Sword, seeing as the readme for it says "This is f***g crazy. It's got many long 16th runs that really drain stamina." The only problem with that is that the readme also lists the title of the song as being "Holy Thunderforce". That may just be a mistake though, as the description of the song varies between the two on Bemanistyle.

I just downloaded that song, by the same simfile author, and here's my result for it:

:: Holy Thunderforce; Heavy

Better than Emerald Sword, and a bit harder too

Anyways, I'm going to end that off there for now, as I'm going to go find more simfiles made to Rhapsody's songs right now, as the ones I've listened to so far seem like they'd lend themselves nicely to at least an 11 or 12. Well, except for Lamento Eroico. That'd pretty much be all hold arrows

Black Dragon oni
One more Lovely heavy(Ver with the reatrded jumps at the end)
Never Say
Shindbad
Emerald Sword

Well its been about two months since I switched to spread, and now I can WTFPWN just about anything, except for some of NVLM's ridiculous shit. Rhapsody is just plain out awesome, after playing most of the popular sims of their music I downloaded all their albums and now I almost solely listen to Rhapsody.

Eh, just of some songs I played today.

Shipmeister's Shanty - 1st runthrough
Carnival Night Zone - Expand
Mr. Roboto - Dizzy, Sudden

I wasn't too impressed with the first two's scores (Shanty tricked me a few times as I forgot the actual song... and I suck at Expand), but Mr. Roboto shocked me. I thought I could never do it with a AA without any mods. Heh...
Also managed to get a few themes now. Needed something new for a change.

I would get Emerald Sword now, but I'll wait until I can download faster for that file. It is too long for me to download (and with the way it has been for me, it would take an hour or two just to download it, which I don't have time tonight).

Agreed. I did the same thing, and put them on my PSP's memory stick, then went searching some more and found another torrent with albums that weren't in the other one, as well as some albums by a "Luca Turilli". Half the songs are either .wma or .mpc files, so some converting is going to be necessary first

What's your favorite song, out of all of their albums? Mine would have to be either Lamento Eroico (either the live or regular version) or Holy Thunderforce. The live version of Emerald Sword is alright, but it really seems like it's missing something if "Gran Finale" isn't right after it in the playlist i ended up looking up the lyrics for Lamento Eroico, so now I constantly find myself singing to it at work, and worry that someone else might hear me singing in whatever language it is

Nice work on your scores as well. I can't help but feel horribly bad at StepMania looking at them, but then again, you play spread as opposed to me with three fingers

As for you, cpubasic, good luck with Emerald Sword whenever you do end up getting a chance to download it. It's sort of like Hiryuu's (or Minnowia's - whichever you prefer) Super Shooter (if you've gotten that one from Bemanistyle), except it's a good bit faster, and has more 16th runs as well. Nothing extremely difficult, but it may take a bit of practice first.

Anyways, see the time? Yeah, 5 in the morning It's time I went to bed

Luca Turilli is Rhapsodys guitarist I believe, he has a few albums hes done himself or well he was the lead singer in them.
Wisdom of kings, March of the sword master,Emerald sword, and Lamento eroico are probly my favorites, I think Lamento Eroico is sung in Italian. Really I cant think of too many Rhapsody songs I don't like.

Got the song. I remember it now from my brother.

But... DAAAAMMMNNN! That is one hard song! I have to have speed changes and stuff just to make it passable. Good song, though.

I am also in the process of making another sim. This time, I went through my song collection (which is very, very small) and found a song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I figured I should try giving Kidnap the Sandy Claws a shot. Just got it synched, so... yeah...

EDIT: I thought I had the BPMs right. Turns out I was .5 BPMs off. At least I made Light only thus far otherwise I would have been screwed. Anyway, after I finish Standard and Heavy and also complete the lyrics, I'll make this a link to the song, but for now, just want to show what is coming, I guess...

Well I'm up to 160 AA's now. My latest accomplishments at the arcade that I'm particularly proud of are:

Nori Nori Nori, FC 9 Greats (SDG! )
exotic ethnic, FC 22 greats
Trip Machine Survivor, FC 41 greats
Tsugaru, FC 38 Greats
Paranoia Rebirth, FC 39 Greats

There are many many more but those are the ones I'm most proud of at the moment. I'm starting to run out of plausible songs to AA so I might have to start AA'ing more doubles songs (I've AA'd 6 of them as of now) or maybe improve on my other scores...

Check it out!

Uhm...

For the love of god, don't ever play VerTex2 on ITG2 and if you do, don't play it on Expert.

Holy. Fucking. Hell.

I may have got 1:20 in with the keyboard and there's no practical way for me to really beat it, since it uses Hands at its speed and add the fact that it's a 13-footer doesn't help things.

Anyways, got to playing the ITG2 machine closest to my house. It's pretty sad that I've taken about 20 machine records since then because I'm really not that good. 9-footers on that machine are like most 10-footers in DDR. I somehow passed VerTex on Medium with an 85%. I passed Pandemonium on Medium but shit...that's one I'll probably not do anytime soon.

Oh yea, got some things for you guys...

Apoplexy (OST extended version) [Final Fantasy Tactics]
Rama Gardens v.1.5

Rama is easily one of the better ones I've made.

EDIT: By the by, it seems I got the FTP working. I've got some shots to show off:

Rama Gardens, Standard (Pad)
Bowser Battle, Heavy (Pad)
Witch Doctor, Challenge (Pad)
The Five, Challenge (Pad)
La Senorita Virtual, Heavy (Pad, blows)
Lupin the 3rd, Heavy (Pad)
Nitrogenocide, Standard (Pad)
My Favourite Game, Expert
Mythology, Expert

I've got more shots lying on my hard drive at home, but these work for now.

Last night I played Pump It Up... I think Extreme 2 or something like that. I only did one song which was a Behtoven (I know, mispelled) remix. Failed... on Normal...

I am too used to DDR to even attempt that game. I wasn't... used to it at all. Even for the easiest steps for that song. I knew the beat...

when doing PIU, you have to remember to go back to your basic steps (the easiest level for PIU). The movements are totally different from DDR and requires a remapping of the feet to the pad in the brain. It doesn't take long to get used to things, if anything the hardest part is learning the color scheme (red arrows are down, blue arrows are up or something like that) and learning notes based on position, rather than color scheme.

I never bothered with colors, really. I have to practice on it though, but I am sure that once I figure out the steps and adapt to them it won't be a challenge. Although... its that center step that might hurt me...

As for Apoplexy, it makes me want to play FFT again...

I got to play a DDR Solo 4th Mix today. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to get to the 6-panel mode, so I was stuck playing a 4th Mix basically. It was quite interesting. I didn't like being forced to choose a "set" of songs. Also, the frame rate is a nice 30FPS which makes a hell of a difference. I think the backgrounds look much nicer than they do on other mixes (higher resolution I think), but the dancer and the choppy arrow scroll makes it hard to read the arrows. At any rate, it was a fun experience, but I'll stick to 5th Mix and above. Atleast I got to play Hypnotic Crisis
