Ew... knockoff/pirate DDR machines. 
Could be worse; I remember when arcades around here put pirate versions of SF2 in real cabinets. What a letdown.  |

| Err...that's a PIU (Pump it Up) Exceed Machine, not DDR. She should've got a better shot at the pad itself, but if you look closely, you can tell that there's an upper left diagonal step on the left pad. There's -5- total steps instead of 4 in PIU; upper left, lower left, upper right, lower right, and center. I haven't really played one but I know that SM emulates it by default if you choose it to be so in the game by switching the game type from DDR to Pump.

Anyways, I realized that I haven't played DDR as much as I used to when I used to go to the arcade. Last night was an exception because one of my friends who moved to Ocean Side a while ago has come back. So we played DDR for liek ever! | Ever play DDR 5th Mix?
I was playing R&P, the pad was hell and I got about 2 or 3 misses, but I still got an AA. Whenever I played 5th, and I broke my combo, I would always get an A, even if I did have a ridiculous amount of Perfects! wtf?  |

| Pump It Up is ridiculously fun. Mostly because of the versatility of the pad. The placement of the 5 sensors just allows for more variety in dance than DDR. The music, however, is nowhere as good. | |||

and its easy to tell its a piu machine because the word pump is littered everywhere on the machine... though i guess it could always be a knockoff piu machine... |

| Psh, havoks sucks now, I'm better at DDR than he is...
I've played PIU, very fun stuff. Only thing I hate about it is there is no distinguishing factors between notes. Blue notes are back arrows, red notes are front arrows, yellow is the center step. It makes the harder levels hard to get into it. However, if you have a pad and Stepmania, put "Auto Gen Steps" on in the options (forget where) and play PIU using familiar DDR songs. It's REALLY fun in my opinion. It requires more of a workout and foces cooler body twists. |
