Pff.

Also, take into account that's it is Betson (I think that's what they're called) that are making the game available to the US and EU. I don't think Konami Japan is capable of releasing on here past the one that they did for the US that sucked.

They're giving it a shot at least. It doesn't hurt at all to do so given DDR's growing popularity here.

Granted, I'd never find a machine to try out or even look at here (most likely), but still. It's a no-lose I think; worst-case scenario is breaking even.

Actually, I bet it's more of a forced hand of competition, seeing as ITG/2 is kicking it in the US right now and practically monopolizing the LEGAL market here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but DDR Max was the last official US arcade release and it was pretty darn spiffy. I just hope they don't borrow heavily from Extreme 2 CS

Actually I don't even think US got MAX. I know they just got something called DDR USA or something but I don't think, legally anyways, that MAX was supposed to be avail for them.

All the machines you see other than USA are supposedly illegal imports, yet at the same time it's the ONLY way that the series has really caught on in NA. EU is better off for legalities but at the same time it's been getting crap shit in it's games. Fusion was a close bet with the songs it had but I heard that the machine had issues of some sort (we're talking something akin to a decent merge of MAX and EX basically).

So, if Konami is smart, they'll make it better than anything they have and put around 250+ songs in it to outshine something like ITG's dominance...oh and throw in a goddamn new Trip Machine or something.

Yes, Hiryuu, because SURVIVOR and Climax aren't enough, I suppose.

Eh, I guess the fact that we jacked a flash card from a DDR Machine from URI and put it in the Warwick Mall machine doesn't make me feel bad anymore, now that I realize that the machine's an illegal import anyway...

Man, I love that machine, it's so much better than any of the others I've dealt with.

Dear All,

Konami Corporation of Europe BV (KCOE) are proud to present the latest manifestation of the Dancing Stage / DDR machines – Dancing Stage SuperNOVA (European title).

ATEI 2006 (Jan 24th to 26th 2006 in Earls Court, London) is the fist place in the World that anyone will see the game. The game on show will be approx. 75 percent complete. It will be launched later in the year through the KCOE European distributor network.

We have listened to player’s feedback and included points where possible, to be able to create a product that we feel offers something for everyone, whether a hardcore player or a new player.

At this time the only information I can give you about the machine is:

• The game is a Global version (not regionally specific, therefore US and EU are the same versions).
• There will be a huge track list on it (at this time we are speaking to music licensors therefore the list is not complete).
• There are new modes and game play.

As the name suggests this is going to be big!!!!

Please try to come to ATEI to sample the game and let me know your thoughts and opinions on it.

After the show we are planning on testing the machines in Europe although the locations of the test have not been finalised at this time. I will try to update you all ASAP.

Best regards

James

Curse your ability to get a song eternally stuck in my head!!
Anyways, it's a good song, and it's one of the few I didn't delete two seconds after I downloaded it.

Ok, I want some advice from all you Stepmania fans out there...

1. How many songs is too much? I have 1,600 now, I'm not sure if I'll play them all within my lifetime, but damnit, I'm still on the hunt for bumperpacks.

2. I have Stepmania 0.9 alpha 19, is there any other fetures in an updated version?

3. What's he best announcer? I like Schitzkitty meself.

4. ANy decent themes out there? I've got the Default one, but surely, there must be better...

So I played in a DDR tournament over the M4GFest weekend. I fully expected to get destroyed, but it didn't make watching the person who won the whole thing any less amazing.

On the swing down:

1. I have about that much right now myself. At one point, I had 2500.

2. I SINCERELY hope you meant 3.9 a19. 3.9 FINAL is now the version that's most stable. You can get it here and also test drive 4.0.

3. Eh, I liked SOLO when I had her but I'm not a fan of announcers in SM.

4. Techno Fiend 3: Eternity and probably Stepmania System Zero. TF3:E requires at least 3.9RC2 because of the new PORTAL feature that was added. Check Bemanistyle's forum (Themes forum) for System Zero and check BMS's simfile section (use search) for TF3:E.

And now for me:

Last for DOD 5TH.

1. I was reading somewhere in the DDRmaniax site, and if I remember right, it limits around 4,000 songs (~5GB).

2. Yes, 3.9 should be what you shouls be using, but I hope 4.0 is fully finished soon.

3. I have the normal DDRExtreme Japanese announcer (He speaks English though )

4. I like DDR9 eRED I think it's called. It's at the DDRManiax website along with several other themes.

Oh wow, my friend Mike went to M4G Fest and won the guitar hero tournament, I was going to go with him but I couldn't get any cash.

I really need to post some new screenies, I switched from Index to spread and in about a week I was beating my old index scores and passing things I didn't think I was capable of.

Mike...Mike...I think I know him (As "Spookmeister C") from another board. Rawk on.

I played in that tournament too. Incidentally, I did NOT get destroyed in the first round (Though I did lose), because I think most of the entrants (Myself included) had played the game for the first time that weekend.

You'd be surprised. (Never thought you could make a song with just two words though)

Anyways, I adjusted the timing on SM for JUSTICE, holy $HIT!!1 On songs I AAA, I get 18 or 19 misses. But my timings getting a little better.

Well the Megamix actually has a verse with real lyrics instead of just "Telephone operator" over and over.

Anywho: Three major accomplishments today at the arcade:

I actually AAA'd 2 songs! Though on standard:

Irresistiblement Standard
Cartoon Heroes Standard

These were both done on Nonstop Pop N 4 Difficult course (seperate times)

I also AA'd So Deep for the first time over. I was on such a PA High.

Oh yeah, 4 Greats on Freckles Heavy. So, so close.

Congratulations!! Are those your first AAA's or are there previous ones?
I've done CH a few times, but not Irres.
My record on Freckles is 6 Greats, so you beat me there.
Anyways, for the real reason I posted, I made my first AAAA ever!!!!
It was on Dream a Dream Heavy, Judgement #4 (obviously not JUSTICE as in my aforementioned post) and I don't think I'll ever do it again.
But the satisfaction of having finally gotten an AAAA is a major landmark for me.
I'm thinking I should try downloading the Ridiculous Timing, but I'm not that good!

So after the aforementioned DDR tournament, I decided to go back and work on my perfect accuracy on Light and Standard songs. After entirely too long, I finally managed to AAA Remember You on Light (AKA a 1 foot song).

...and there are people who can do this on PSMO. Jesus. Just stringing together those 41 consecutive perfects was a bitch and a half.
